Nokanawa. His Excellency Yoshikawa Katsu was today bestowed the honor of succeeding Chairman of the Council of Ministers Kihara following his resignation yesterday. In a ceremony this morning, His Excellency was appointed by His Imperial Highness the Tennō and has thus been tasked with forming the new cabinet as soon as possible.
At around 3PM local time, Yoshikawa presented himself to the Imperial Diet to give his Inauguration Speech, which had been anticipated by many.
In this speech, His Excellency expressed his strong adherences to the ethics of Greater East Touyou and his determination to defend the kokutai of the Oikawan Empire under any circumstances, prompting responses of standing ovations and calls for the continued wellbeing of His Imperial Highness and his infallible reign over the Oikawan people.
Praising His Imperial Majesty for His continued divine guidance in the nation's quest to preserve its national polity, the new Chairman of the Council of Ministers asked for the continued blessing of His Majesty and the ancestors in the tasks ahead, first and foremost the defense of the Greater East Touyou idea against revisionists and Western imperialists that have managed to bring a small clique of rogue elements under their influence with the intention of sowing discontent and hatred amongst the liberated two billion men and women of the Free East.
Proving himself to be a true friend of the people of Jizhou and reaffirming the brotherly ties between the people of Oikawa and their blood brothers in Jizhou, His Excellency Yoshikawa announced that the League of Free States, acting in accordance with the Mutual Defense and Aid Clause of its charter, would assist the people of Jizhou against the hostile elements that threatened the national integrity and independence of the great Jizhou Republic. Specifically, His Excellency stressed the Imperial obligation to assist the people of Jizhou by reminding the members of the Imperial Diet of the Governance Statute of 1951, the agreement upon which the united Jizhou Republic was formed out of the chaotic statelets instigated by Western colonialists in the 20s and 30s. His Excellency Yoshikawa said that the statute obliged the people of Oikawa to assist with the practical governance of the affairs of Jizhou should the nation ever find itself in a situation where it was unable to do so itself. Expressing his concern that this unfortunate time was now, indeed, upon the world, His Excellency confirmed the unwavering commitment of the people of Greater Oikawa to living up to its promises.
The Chairman of the Council of Ministers announced that with immediate effect, elements of the Imperial Army would begin to assist the people of Jizhou. Other members of the League of Free States, he said, would be involved in this effort. He furthermore announced that he would meet with Jizhou President Zhang Bowen, who is still hospitalized in Nokanawa, to discuss the future of the governance assistance efforts. Reassuring the assembled members of the Imperial Diet of the unwavering commitment of the Jizhou President to the steps that had been taken to ensure the prosperity of the entirety of Greater Touyou, His Excellency closed his speech which is sure to be hailed as a milestone in the history of Oikawa and, indeed, the entire liberated East as a hallmark of the continued indivisible nature of the eastern nations against imperialism, warmongering and subversive agitation.
