A Letter From the Editor
"Das Wirtschaftblatt was founded in 1902 as purely an economic newspaper designed to tell our readers what exactly what going on in the world. When we purchased the WestHertha Rundschau in 1931 we had no idea what exactly would happen as our newspaper would then be forced to expand to cover more than just economics, but a plethora of different subjects and topics. The fall of the Communist Era in 1992, brought new wealth and democracy to our nation but also a free press once again as dWB-uR become free from government control again. We introduced the tabloid formatting to our readers in 1993 in order to shed away the old look of Communism and now today are newspaper of record in Tyskerreich. Here on the internet, we hope to introduce our nation to the world via our stories and photos.

Things to note about our newspaper is that it details everything from the most important economic subject on pages two to ten to the typical ramblings of news on pages thirteen to twenty. Top headlines are on page one, and celebrity gossip and smut ends up on pages eleven and twelve.

Our goal as a newspaper is to bring you the biggest and best news in whatever subject you'd like to know about. Different than Wiese or Franken, our country might look similar, but we are very different!"

Happy Reading!

Join Council of Nations? Wir Sagen Nein!

HERTHA-KAISERINGARTEN— Upon the foundation of the Council of Nations, Tyskreich was not extended an invitation and this precedent has maintained its establishment despite Tyskreich's movement to democracy in 1992.

Today the topic resurfaced as the Sozialdemokratische Partei Tyskreichs (SPT) brought it to the foreground of debate as Cornavia's application was publicized early this morning. This topic was last discussed in 1993 after successful democratic elections where the conservative Tyskreichische Volkspartei (TVP) managed to sway public opinion away from the notion in a national referendum.

The anti-CN sentiment was only deemed appropriate in during the Batavië crisis which almost drew the world to war due to the Council of Nations, the complete opposite goal of what the CN is supposed uphold.

Tyskreichisches Parliament's two houses debated the notion for most of the day without reaching much of a conclusion. Politically savvy activists in Hertha managed to take the trip to Kaiseringarten to demonstrate against possibility that Tyskreich might decide to join the Council of Nations which they deemed as imperial, tyrannical, and as the EDF Puppeteer's Club.

Demonstrators shouted, "Wir sagen nein!" to the beat of drums and other noisemakers.

A press statement from the TVP has stated that admission to the Council of Nations is not on their agenda. Their statement holds sway because they are the leading coalition. Phone calls to the Offices of the Prime Minister and President weren't returned on the subject.

Despite this clear disadvantage the SPT has brought the discussion to Parliament. It isn't clear whether or not the SPT will attempt to force the issue by trying to introduce a referendum.

Polls indicate that the majority of citizens disapprove of the CN, 57% to 38%.

The Commonwealth understands the motives behind the Tysklander decision to remain out of the Council of Nations, and will not pressure Tysklander membership in the organization out of a belief that the Commonwealth of Cornavia and Tyskland will be able to maintain cordial relations despite of differing views as for this international mechanism.

« I do not understand why is it that governments or parliaments wish to press the issue of the Council of Nations and to join at any cost. We have already defeated such a motion by our government in a referendum in 1986. Our group is ever vigilant to ensure that our government does not seek to repeat the move. Once the free Saxons are ready to join the Council of Nations, we shall let our government know through referendum. We wish the Tysker people the same, especially since their system appears to foresee referenda. »

- Hans Koller, chairman of the Wendmark, Ohne Völkerrat* association.

* Based upon Völkerbund, the German name for the League of nations, with the replacement of -bund by -rat (council). German speakers should correct if appropriate.

The End of an AGE, Hertha Concord Signed!

HERTHA-KAISERINGARTEN— Parliament (Nationalrat & Bundesrat) signed into acceptance the Hertha Concord, otherwise known as the Treaty of Friendship, Collaboration and Common Defense (TFCCD) with the Republic of Frescania. The agreement which has widely been seen as the replacement for the Alliance for Great Europe (AGE) which has largely fallen apart since the demise of the Levantine States.

The Hertha Concord, (Hertha Accord in Frescanian Press) is considered a rebirth for democratic traditions in Europe after democracy's near death after the end of AGE. The Hertha Concord is unique in the sense that it is designed around the model democracies of Tyskreich and Frescania as a two nation treaty that is given the ability to expand or be expanded.

This document largely written by Chancellor Ludwig Rilke-Schrödinger is considered his 'baby' as the countries move forward. Preliminary plans are for the alliance to use Francoisville as the headquarters for operation, but thus far there is no desire for the nations to being usage of the facilities.

Expansion is expected to work on the basis of application which allows for nations to full a variety of Chapters, which are required to gain admission. Uniquely, should Frescania and Tyskreich agree, invitations may be extended to nations which are deemed to be already within the spirit of the Treaty.

The agreement is considered a coup upon the suggested order that has stated that perhaps the European Defense Federation (EDF) is the new democratic alliance for Europe, which Chancellor Ludwig Rilke-Schrödinger has denounced as a "Piss-poor analysis of any political scientist from Kindergarten."

Relations with EDF states have continued to be frosty even after the end of the Communist Era.

The new Hertha Concord is expected to be the beginning of a new era for Tyskreich and perhaps the statement document for the new era of democracy that has been built since 1992.

His Majesty's Government regrets to see the continued suboptimal assessment of multilateral relations by the Tsyker government. Nonetheless, we are glad to see two such important states united in alliance.

Though we hope there will be peaceful relations between the signitories of the Hertha Concord and the EDF, the continued belligerence the government of Tyskreich shows towards the EDF, or at least that which is expressed though the Tyskreich media, concerns His Majesty and his government in as much that such animosity may have a detrimental influence on relations between the two alliances.

The Free State of Wendmark takes note of the signing and ratification of the Treaty of Friendship, Collaboration and Common Defense (TFCCD) between the Republic of Tyskreich and the Republic of Frescania and welcomes the noble goals envisioned by this instrument of international cooperation, amongst which feature prominently the defence and promotion of such core values as democracy and liberty. It is a good sign to see two democratic and republican governments united in a common effort. This is why the Free State shall follow the development of the TFCCD with particular attention.

However, the Free State is concerned with the portrayal of the TFCCD as being founded in hostility to other well established instruments of regional cooperation.

Chancellor is Questioned About His Hostile Foreign Rhetoric in Nationalrat

HERTHA-KAISERINGARTEN— Chancellor Ludwig Rilke-Schrödinger shot himself into the headlines in many countries with his lack of creativity and keen sense to insult. Rilke-Schrödinger has been a firecracker his entire life and was someone who the Tyskreichische Volkspartei (TVP) was worried might make a fool of them on the national scene with his very direct opinions and urges to lob insults at incoming politicians. Rilke-Schrödinger has yet to do anything terrible domestically, but his first test on the international stage seems to have caused a bit of trouble.

It was just a few days ago after the passage of the Hertha Concord that Rilke-Schrödinger called the notion of the European Defense Federation (EDF) being a new democratic alliance leader, a "piss-poor analysis of any political scientist from Kindergarten."

This immediately caught ire from Franken, the EDF's natural leader and several local neighbors with many even suggesting them to be warring words, perhaps suggesting that the Hertha Concord by design was to be aggressive or anti-EDF. Rilke-Schrödinger himself took heat from Minority Leader, Thomas Schlacht, "Do you realize your keen sense of diplomatic crudeness has placed our nation and new alliance under the spotlight of the EDF, as not partners, but direct enemies?"

Rilke-Schrödinger only response was, "I call it like I see it, and the EDF's filthy tactics of diplomacy has only destroyed the fabric of the Council of Nations and this is not becoming of a democratic alliance."

The verbal display has only put heat on Rilke-Schrödinger and his cabinet, but his display has endeared him to citizens who appreciate his "cajones" as stated by a Frescanian diplomat in private.

While of course Rilke-Schrödinger is not putting Tyskreich in the positioning of war he has certainly made it clear that the EDF is not an alliance designed to lead the free world simply in the manner in which they carry on their own self-serving foreign policy. Perhaps this notion is widely believed in as just lately the Scanian Union has asked for admission to the Hertha Concord rather than the EDF has some seemed to have possibly hinted.

At least there is a constant in Germanic politics and that is Tyskreich will carry on her own foreign policy and not one to copycat Franken, which has been the disappointing case for many nations in Gaul and Germania since the end of the Great War.

The Department of Foreign Affairs hopes that Foreign Relations between Fulanistan and Tyskreich do not become affected by comments from the Chancellor and that we can continue to have a prosperous friendship.

Thursday's Covergirl: Kristina Schneider

(Disclaimer: Thursday Covergirl pictures do not contain nudity, but they may be racy.
I've elected to make pictures clickable rather than on the forum to avoid angry girlfriends and wives or public places coupled with embarrassment.
The purpose is to provide beautiful women to the forum but the same time show case what culture is like in Tyskreich)

Kristina is a girl from Hertha who works at a local theatre. She aspires to become an actress in German language cinema. When asked where she wants to travel, she believes the sandy beaches of Frescania sound appealing. She wants to learn to speak Spanish so she can better get around on her favorite beaches. Born into a family of five, she is the youngest daughter. Her father was a electrician and her mother a school teacher.
"Politics are dry, people don't care about what the President said last night, they want to see a good love story now." - Kristina on politics
Kristina wants to be an actress because she believes that there is no greater feeling than being able to touch the feelings of others when a great play or film is shown. Her favorite showings to go to are operas, although she does not feel she has the voice of opera, but perhaps a musical instead.
"I don't think that we do enough for our children. Mama and Papa are always running wild working a job, cleaning house, making dinner that sometimes we forget our children are people and need attention too! Buying them a new toy to keep them occupied is a bad way to show your love!" - Kristina on lifestyle
She loves ice cream, but works out daily to maintain a good body. Nothing helps more than eating healthy though, and she wants to devote her free time to helping children maintain healthy diets
"I got into theatre when I first enrolled in the local church play. I was an angel, and I couldn't get enough of the spotlight and the costumes. Theatre is something that cannot just be watched, it must be lived!" - Kristina on theatre
Being born in the communist era she misses communist stamps and symbols and sounds, but does prefer the current system where her family's lifestyle has changed and benefited with increased wages and better products from around the world.

Religion is important to her and she goes to church every few days to engage in studies with with her peers and sometimes just have good fun and games.

Northern Economics After Communism

LYNDANISSE— Since departure from the communist system in 1992, the northern city of Lyndaniesse has become the Danzig equivalent for Northern Europe, comprising mostly of yuppies and wealthy bankers and the like, it is the beacon of what post-communist Tyskreich would like to be. Wealthy and affluent much like their well of neighbors from Skåne or their new allies in Frescania. Truth be told, Tyskreich is a country of intermixing. Vast differences between wealthy and poor dominate the country which features cities like Hertha which can feature abundant poverty where great portions of the city live paycheck to paycheck, compared to the smaller city of Werder just north, which features a high-tech community home to many of the world's technology companies like "Twåtter."

While clearly the Eastern slums compare not to the Northern and Western delights, the shape of the post-communist north is beginning to take hold.

Arguably the door was left open for Tyskreich in the 1970's and 1980's when Tyskreich's communist regime began to lose steam. During this era the capitalist world didn't fare much better and continued to flow out of Danzig giving it seemingly infinite power in the capitalist world.

Borders posed a problem though, and nations in the LFS bloc obviously made up their own economic blocs. The communist world was no different with nations like Batavië, Kyrobaijan and Tyskreich during this era forming the economic core of the communist north. With the economic slowdown of the 70's came the economic collapse of this bloc and with it a newly paved road for Tyskreich and also the city of Lyndanisse.

From 1992 onward Lyndanisse branded itself as a friend to banking and as such found itself throwing off the balance of power in Germania and Gaul which normally preferred to work in Danzig. Billions were made in the capitalist expansion of Tyskreich and the bankers and stockbrokers in Lyndanisse stood to benefit. Occupying arguably the best port in Northern Europe, everything came through Lyndanisse which now operates the large port facilities in Europe total as goods from Cornavia, Skåne, Arendaal, Eireann, and now even Batavië come to port to meet the consumers of the Far East and even closer to home like Wiese. Trade that flows through Lyndanissse on a daily basis now reaches trillions of Schillings daily.

The Tyske Börse has now become an important part of the daily news in Northern Europe with trades occurring daily in the billions.

Lyndanisse has come to be the success story of Tyskreich. So much that it now plans on featuring daily global trade reports, something once only reserved for the best in Danzig. So while success has been a great start for Lyndanisse it has also become the model for which the eastern cities of Hertha and Brigittenau can follow, and perhaps even a model that newly capitalist Batavië should follow as well.

This report was written by Michael Stahl, an influential real estate broker in Werder who volunteered to write a story about how economics have changed since 1992.

Demokratisches Weltforum? Coming Soon.

HERTHA-KAISERINGARTEN— Chancellor Ludwig Rilke-Schrödinger has made a splash on the foreign stage with his rash words at places such as the Northern Council meetings and his own uncouth quotes on the European Defense Federation, yet this one might be his biggest.

Early this morning it was announced that the Hertha Concord would be establishing the "Demokratisches Weltforum" (Cornavian: World Democratic Forum; Frescanian: Foro Democratico Mundial), in order to create a meeting place for the most responsible nations in the world. The words have worried some that the organization would be based upon the spread of Democracy, with the earlier name, Weltdemokratieforum, scrapped to help sooth this speculation. The name is supposed to reflect the manner in which the forum will be operated, democratically.

The news comes as a major shocker for Tyskreich as the nation never joined the Council of Nations due to Tyskreich's communist beginnings during the late 1940's and then Tyskreich's perceived European Defense Federation bias in the Council of Nations in the 1990's to even this day.
"We do not believe that just because an organization is the accepted standard means it's a properly working body. It's been quite clear to us that the manner in which that body was created that European Defense Federation was given a large supposed neutral role, in it's infant beginnings, but that neutral role has been abused and it has forever tainted that organization's buildings. Tyskreich has always wanted an alternative, but never had the political foundations for it. With the help of our partner Frescania in the Hertha Concord, the World Democratic Forum is possible" stated the all-smiles Ludwig Rilke-Schrödinger during his press conference.
What perhaps makes this all the more interesting is that Tyskreich is not the only disillusioned nation in regards to the current system. Clearly Frescania will be coming along, but rumors have also suggested involvement from Greater Sarmatia. The invitation list was announced shortly after to have certain nations review and sign the charter. (The list can be seen at the end of the article.) and clearly the new organization seeks to supplant the current one with its wide array of invites.

Only time will tell if Crazy Ludwig's World Forum will work, but at the moment it does not seem it can get any worse than the current Council of Nations which is currently struggling for find nominations and candidates for its current elections.

The initial meeting will have the charter present for all invitees to sign.

Invitations were extended to the Governments of: Akhaltsikhe, Arendaal, Axum, Breotonia, Batavië, Carentania, Cornavia, the Free Union, Fulanistan, Greater Sarmatia, Hajr, Kryobaijan, Makai Islands, Oikawa, Skåne, Wendmark, and Zivotinje

Be it Democracy, Peace, and sustainment of Liberty? Count the Blue Union Captaincy of Životinje in. Additionally, it is absolutely paramount that upcoming democracies are given space under us to fly; Independent Barazi appendages will accompany our representation to this forum.

Skepticism however remains high, all global organizations charged with facilitating noble governance have consistently accomplished anything but. Expect a serious opposition from those who are not so easily swept off their feet by the notions of Pan-European Democracy, a naive idea at this time.

Seeing that the whole world is not invited, not even all the democracies of the world, and those that are invited are not all democracies, it would seem that the only thing correct about the name, World Democratic Forum, is ..... Forum.

The Republic of Tyskreich notes that is it paramount for nations large, small, democratic, communist, revolutionary, and otherwise to maintain strong and peaceful relations with each other. Failure to do so often results in diplomatic snubs so to speak, and this might be considered as such by any prominent scholar.

It might be wise for the Celts to reconsider their current foreign policy to see that they fit into the unfolding plans for a new world system.

That said, not all nations are ready to be included into such a plan or system. Not even the Council of Nations included all nations upon its birth and we hope that the Celts would do better than to judge anything Tysk as anything less than negative. I might suggest this continued bias only highlights why our relations may be at an all time low.
