Establishing Nation
They had arrived intermingled with some of the Vympel Group. While the contractors had been absorbed into the ranks of the Pannonian military, these men had simply vanished. They had been taking orders from the Imperial Military intelligence in Kispest, until communication became an issue with the seige. All together they were roughly company sized, but to help with disappearing they had broken down into several platoons. With their communications severed from Kispest they had largely remained an inactive force as they waited and watched events unfold. Small minor intelligence missions had been launched and they had monitored communications of friend and foe largely as they awaited.
They would now act as a forward element of several battalions of 98th Guards which had been unloading from two of the ships and organizing the past weeks within the city of Halaszbastya. The situation on the ground had devolved rapidly over large swaths of Pannonia, the military had all but abandoned parts of the country in the North and with situation in Kispest they had moved largely from the South as well, allowing rebels to seize large swaths of land that could very well not be loyal to their cause.
Information of Horvaths goal of re-taking Sankt Viet had reached Lt. Col Valeriy Heletey who was in charge of the detachments of the airborne units deployed in Pannonia. Knowing the condition of the Pannonian army, and the distance it would have to travel would be far greater than his own units. So they would move, the two battalions would advance towards Sankt Viet in their vehicles, they would move at the first sign of darkness. Communications with the Special Operators that had been hidden as parts of the Vympel Group that had been awaiting would give them orders to swing east and begin operations of hit and run with the more mobile platoons, and others would begin acts of sabotage behind the lines of the enemy or commit to direct action as diversionary attacks, as "Pro-Pannonian" militia.
Tarusan boots had unofficially always been on the ground, and those unofficially would remain that way. Those on the other side of issue in Pannonia had already officially crossed the boundary and used military forces deep within the borders of Pannonia. Their actions had paved the way for greater involvement beyond equipping the national army, the detachments officially would be "securing the borders of Pannonia from further intrusion by foreign aggressors", unofficially for the time being they were now launching Operation Salvation, the repelling of rebel forces from the western reaches of Pannonia.
