Sorry I haven't been about, I will be returning more permanently from now on. Just been fighting a by-election.

I'm happy to help out if I can at all.

Though I am new, I would rather see some sort of attempt to get players into the South instead of making more spots in the North.

Perhaps if you were to offer some details on what matters you find difficult, and even beyond that, offer a more viable alternative...?

How about the whole thing. Lets start with my map spot, he took all my west and southern coast away for one and the Green Sea is all but gone. All those new spots in the Europe area ,what is it nine more spots?Well, we might as well give up ever writing a history of the Western Great War.

As for an alternative, Khalistan's proposal was just fine for me.

I can't seem to find more than three new spots, perhaps I have bad eye sight. I don't know how much of the criticism thus far has been helpful. I think this map is a definite step in the right general direction if we want to revise it, I was quite afraid of very drastic changes which is why I was reserved about the decision originally. I think with careful coordination with affected nations there's no reason that we might not be able to squeeze out a few more spots in valuable real estate areas while also making less populated regions more attractive. Of course the agreement of our Official Mapmaker™ would be essential.

Take a look were Eiffelland and the Papal States are, they used to be next to Lorraine. And where Montelimar used to border Vistrasia and Wenmark there is now six nations put in between them

I had to go through and compare the map, crossing out each spot as I identified it but I can now see it in full. While I am, in principle, fully in favor of trying to make the European continent more accessible to new people I have got to say that such a sudden influx of empty space will certainly make things like the Great War very problematic to organize.

I have to agree with Brit and Anglyn, if we adopt this we might as well throw out any attempt at a Great War history, at least in the west.

BTW where did the Otchi Free State go to?

I don't mind the map, but I do like Khalistans' version a tad much because I had asked for what is currently Umbazi for Akwesasne. In this new version, it's been sliced up. :(

While I think the direction this is going, with regards to Coro's map, is positive, I have great reservations largely due to the fact that part of the Free Union - while not important to wider regional/international history, was very significant to the cultural and consitutional history of the Free Union. The part which used to be part of the mainland, that be, Blois - as in, the Free Union of Engellex and Blois.

It was very important. However, I don't know if that has been changed to something else, as I see an island next door which I doubt could be considered part of my map spot in this version, or not, I need clarification on what has changed in that to my map spot to determine what changes would be needed to make to the Free Union, and, whether that is alright.

So, I would say more details would be needed on existing map spots that have been changed.

Some of the criticism is positive. Most of it seems like people whining about shit they never took the time to develop. Great Western War? Are you shitting me? You asses never put more than two posts into that shit. Don't bitch about histories that you guys never even put the effort into. Additionally, this is some what of a draft. It offers a new solution and gets rid of unnecessary shit that nobody touched to begin with. Most noticeably giant swaths of Himyar.

As for stuff like the Free Union is complaining about, that's something that could easily be fixed, and would be fixed as it's a legitimate complaint.

If people hadn't noticed this map version opens up Central Scanogermania and widens the West a little. As for things like the Otchi Free State, that RP is being voided last I spoke with the higher powers that be and including Beau.

...and to specifically address Anglyn. The current map area around you looks like shit. So your coasts are the last of anyone's problem as they did not add to RP and made no difference to RP... only serving to make the area look ugly. With the addition of the strait below you the strategic need for two coasts was negated. Congrats, you can thank the current mapmaker for that. Khalistan's version was retarded because it solved none of the problems brought up and only added a gulf into Himyar which was pointless. As for the distance between the Papal States and Lorriane... woop-dee-fuckin-doo? It's not like the Papal States RPs. Hell, it's not like Lorriane RPs much either. Since when did that chap make a detailed history thread? To be honest, with the increased distance in central Scanogermania, only Wiese has the right to bitch cause it disrupts his historical RP. Perhaps those tied to Wiese's RP. So as far as I'm concerned, you random fools ought to quiet down and worry about your own business and offer some legitimate solutions or just shut up.

That said... this was my solution to our map problems. I ain't the official mapmaker. Nor is this an official map. I'm willing to continue to edit and fix problems that make sense on this map. I will not cater to nonsensical ramblings. Some of you kids already used up your last straws of my patience long ago.

However if the Khalistan idea is made permanent you can be damn well sure I'll ignore cannon that and not even recognize that shit as even an official map. It's got no purpose and offers nothing productive to our RP.

Thanks for that input, coro. I do think the more interesting question is how our userbase should be composed: Do we expect the majority to be uber-frequent contributors, do we "tolerate" occasional gamers, where do we draw the line between gameplay-distrupting nation-changing and needed adaptions and how tolerant are we of our IC-identity-challenged members?

The Great War is a legitimate concern. Well planned or not it s the most important event in the past hundred years and explains large swaths of our current situation. It simply cannot be negated and introducing spots in Germania as you have is a serious disruption. The number of spots that can reasonably be introduced there is limited and their placement must be very careful. I'm sure we all apprecitiate your effort, but this is something that we really mustn't budge on. Trying to make the south a more appealing place to newcomers may be a good priority to have.
