OFFICE OF THE CHANCELLOR

It comforts His Majesty to know that our gracious neighbors regard us so highly as to consider pipelines through our nation as such a terrible burden upon our economy that they would so willingly sacrifice them to eliminate their effect on the Cenetian budget, meanwhile utilizing the newfound yet already teetering SEEDTO alliance to bear the burden of constructing new pipelines to satiate Ascaloni oil companies. If Ascaloni officials are so willing to set aside diplomacy in order to appease these corporations, then His Majesty sees no further use in continued diplomacy with such a corrupt state.

We highly suggest that you ask all Ascaloni nationals within Cenetian borders to immediately withdraw, and please do cite the safety precautions necessary in the face of terrorism by tiny minorities.

As for Ascaloni claims to the so-called 'Mare di Dio', or more properly the Mer Ardente, Cenetis will not recognize any claim that infringes upon the national sovereignty and dignity of our Kingdom.

Parliament will be meeting this Wednesday after the demonstrations in Al As'ad to determine whether this is a wise policy to conduct or not.

KEF to sell it's shares of Ascaloni Oil!

The Wieser investment group, KEF, has announced that it will be selling it's shares of Ascaloni Oil Co. to La Rosa Petróleo a newly formed petroleum company based out of Cordoba. KEF owned 26% of the shares and will sell the shraes for 160% of what it paid. La Rosa Petróleo has been buying up the smaller oil companies in Ascalon, and is currently working out a deal with the Ascaloni Catholic Church to 35% of it's shares. This would give La Rosa Petróleo a controlling share in the company with 51%.

World Catholic Charity Fund founded!

The blessed Cardinal Vincent Tattiglia has announced that he will be founding the World Catholic Charity Fund and donating 5 million dollars to it to start it off. The WCCF will focuse on bringing aid to the Otchi, Freiheiter, Aquitanian, and Barazi people. Volunteers for the WCCF will, with the permission of Sarmatia of course, be moving into what was once a proud Catholic nation known as Freiheit (administered by Aquitania). The WCCF will provide food, shelter, and prayer services for the war torn Freihieter people. The goal is to bring religion back to the Freihieter people, who after hundreds of years of forced Atheism have forgotten what it means to be a Catholic Christian.

Belmont Votes Against Ascalon

During a Security Council resolution that would allow Ascalon, and many more nations, to join the Council of Nations, Belmont voted against Ascalon to be allowed in. Every other nation to vote thus far has voted Aye on this situation. However, Belmont found it necessary to vote Aye for all countries except Ascalon. This is deeply insulting. We have decided to enact an Oil Embargo on Belmont, as well as an embargo on any imports and exports coming to and from Belmont. We will no longer put up with the insults and imperialistic attitudes of the Belmont government. This Saturday we will be releasing a number of quotes from the Paris-SEEDTO talks, which will make public the attitude of the Belmontian regime.

The above quote was taken from a speech from Foreign Minister Father Dominci Basil today.

Ascalon Agrees to Yeild

Ascalon agrees to dis-continue the closed border policy with Cenetis if Cenetis is willing to remove it's tax on oil going through it's pipeline.

We once more condemn the recent actions taken by Ascalon. We cannot understand how a simple vote can lead to an embargo, this is not logical international policy.

Due to the recent radical statements and decisions by the Ascaloni government, we will be taking all future comments as dangerous to the stability of the region. We will stop doing so once we see common sense return to the leaders of Ascalon.

Commonwealth of Cornavia

The Commonwealth government is highly critical of the Ascaloni government's stated aims behind the so-called World Catholic Charity Fund and warns that welfare and charity should never be mixed with the promotion of any ideology, secular or theistic in nature. In addition, Ascalon risks discrediting the charity done by Dominican Catholic institutions everywhere in Europe by connecting it with ideological agitation.

The government of Frescania is idiotic if it thinks that the only thing that made us pursue the embargo was the vote against our admission. There are countless reasons. If the Frescan paid attention at all then they would realize this.

The logo flashes on the screen, and a little jingle sounds. Then a female anchor is shown sitting alone behind a news desk. She is wearing a shirt that shows a considerable amount of cleavage. This makes it clear that the church does not manage this news station.

"Hello and welcome to the first official Rai News Broadcast. My name is Ambra Adolfo In the news today, the Parliament elections are quickly approaching. The three major parties in Ascalon are scrambling to get votes as the citizenry gets ready to vote." She is speaking in Italian, and her voice is very soothing. "We now go to our Senior Election Correspondent, Salvatore Umbria."

The screen flips to a middle-aged gentleman, who has clearly had multiple hair transplants. The setting behind the man is somewhere in the streets of the capitol, Ashkalon. There are men and women marching down the streets with signs, all chanting in unison the Lord's Prayer.

"Thank you Ambra. As you can see, the demonstrations for the Il partito cristiano democratico, or PCD party, have already begun. The PCD hopes to keep it's 53% majority in Parliament. However, many fear that with the Head of the Party, Cardinal Tattiglia, leaving the country, that the party will not be able to properly manage itself. Not only that, but Los social-demócratas Parte, or the SDP party, has been gaining significant support from the populace. Especially in the States of Cordoba and Uroduan. The party is promising to bring secularism and greater equality to the citizens of Ascalon, which is exactly what the non-Catholics of Ascalon want to hear." The man finishes up his little 90 second bit, and the screen goes back to the anchorwoman.

"Thank you Salvatore. In other news, the Secuirty Counsel of the Council of Nations might not be accepting Ascalon into the CN any time soon. Currently the SC is at a draw about whether or not to accept Ascalon into the CN, with 2 votes for, and 2 votes against. The citizens of Ascalon are outraged, stating that this will only make it harder for Ascalon to use diplomacy on the world stage. Rather the nations of Oikawa and Belmont seek only to make a point, no matter the cost to the world community." As the anchorwoman finished talking about that subject, pictures of Belmontian and Oikawan leaders are shown. "Also, the Forze Speciali di Polizia, a newly formed special police task force has finished it's training today. The FSP signed a contract with Faenza Nacional, and has armed itself with FN P-90 sub-machine guns, and FN Five Seven pistols. The FSP was created to act as a further protecting force against the rise in terrorism of the nations of Cakistan, Cenetis, and to protect Ascalon from radical nationalists from Jurzan."

"Well that's it for the Rai News Sunday report. We hope you liked what you saw today viewers, and please tune in tomorrow for the morning news."
