"Hello and welcome to the DNN evening news. Today soldiers opened fire on Umbazi criminals who were participating in the drug trade within Cordoba. The military says that they moved in with the intent of arresting everyone, but Umbazi and Ascaloni men opened fire, forcing the military to respond with deadly force. The Ministry of Intelligence says that these gangsters are from the North East of Umbazi, and that they have been smuggling things across the border for years."

Now the female anchor speaks.

"Prime Minister Huron is asking the Umbazi government to allow Ascaloni forces to move into the North East quarter, to 'remove any criminals operating within Ascalon and Umbazi.' He has also said that he has 'no intent on allowing these Umbazi criminals to get away with any further crime'. Currently he is awaiting a response from the Umbazi government."

Controversy strikes Ascalon today as 22 year old Rossela Basil is caught up in a series of porn movies and pictures. Under the alias of Saucy Rossi Rossela stared in a site devoted to doing porno, and producing porn is illegal in Ascalon! Rossela was arrested earlier this morning, and charged with Public Indecency. The reason this is such a big deal is the fact that her father is the brother of Bishop Salvatore Basil, the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Father Basil said of his niece;

"Rossela was always a slutty whore. This however, was a complete surprise to me, as I'm sure it was to my brother. She deserves to spend an eternity in jail, instead of 21 days. No matter though, because she will be spending an eternity in hell!"

"The Church should not be able to regulate what I do with my personal life! I chose that as my career, and I was pursuing a life with it. Obviously the men of Ascalon want me to do it too, considering how many paying members the site had. I just do not think the church should be telling us what to do with our lives. I can tell us what we should do as much as it wants, but I want to do what I want."

Parliament is now discussing whether or not the laws on pornography should be loosened, and whether certain other regulations set up by the church should also be dismantled. Protests calling for the Parliament to do so have begun in Faenza, Cordoba.

Reforms Begin in Parliament

The Reformation Act of 2010 has just been put into Parliament. This bill would allow for The production of porn, a lowering of the 60% sin tax on alcohol, allowance of Ascaloni citizens inside Ascaloni casino's, allowance of women in the armed forces, and much more. Even church officials within Parliament are voting for this act. The act will bring Ascalon out of it's shell, and open it to a new way of thinking, that most f the world has accepted. The Prime Minister has of yet to say whether or not he approves, but if 100% of Parliament votes for the bill, then he won't have a say anyway.

Reformation Act Passes

With 5 out of 5 members of parliament voting for the act, the Prime Minister had no choice but to sign it. However, PM Stewart Huron was reportedly outraged, and since he is also the CEO of almost every alcohol company in Ascalon, he just decided to jack the prices up massively. Just another example of why church and state cannot mix.

Now women can be soldiers, women and men can produce porn, gamble, and do all sorts of other good stuff we couldn't do before. Massive protests broke out in Ashkalon, the protesters calling Parliament 'blasphemers' and 'heretics', while celebrations have broken out in Faenza, with police busy arresting people for DUI and Public Intoxication.

Prime Minister Huron shows his kinder side

Today the new Prime Minister showed that he can accept defeat honorably and in a kind way today, by agreeing to lower alcohol prices.

"Even though parliament seems fixed on creating a state of immorality, I will agree to this law. However, I urge all the strong Catholics within this most Divine Republic, to not drink in excess, and to discourage it in all forms."

The hispanics in Cordoba seemed to ignore his words of wisdom completely, with countless DUIs and Public Intoxication arrests being made in the last 48 hours. The protests going on in Ashkalon are beginning to calm down, but are still pretty strong in numbers. Also enough women to become a whole new brigade are planning on signing up for the military. Saying that they have been waiting for such a law to pass. Un-surprisingly they are from Terra della Vergine, a notoriously liberal state in our Divine Republic. Prime Minister Gets Us Out of HFA, Fulanistan follows!

The Prime Minister has started his term with a multitude of wonderful acts and ideas. Earlier this week he got us out of the HFA saying that;

"The Divine Republic of Ascalon will be resigning from the Himyari Freedom Alliance. While it's goals seemed noble at first, it has been made clear that this alliance has been exploited by Talemantros to fuel it's visions of empire. Fulanistan also got out of the alliance, leaving the greedy Orthodox's of Talemantros to fight their war against the honorable Jurzani all by themselves. Stewart Huron has also stated his desire to meet with Jurzani army leaders, if the Talemantine's do not back out of this war while they still can.

Operation Mono-Rail Begins!

As it turns out, the Ascaloni-Altesian trade talks weren't just about oil and coal. Construction is beginning of a massive, trans-national mono-rail public transportation system. By Christmas, the Gorno-Altesian company, Electroputere Dara, will have completed a mono-rail system that interlocks all of the countries major cities.

"This will bring many great things to Ascalon. It will allow people in Faenza to work in Ascalon, and will allow for a larger work force. After completion we will be offering Rail Passes, for just $50. The passes will last two years each, and can be renewed for just $20 after expiration."

That was what MP Martin Contreras had to say about the deal he worked out. The government has been reluctant to announce how much the plan costs, but assure Ascalon that it is not a very high amount considering the size of this system.

"Hello and welcome to DNN. Today is Saturday September 11, and the war in Jurzan is officially over, with all Talemantine troops leaving. The Uroduah, and Islamic minorities of Ascalon have taken to the streets in celebration."

Next to the news anchor, a box has appeared. The box flips from pictures of parades, to young Uroduah men and women crying tears of joy.

"Also the country of Belmont has invited the governments of Ascalon, Fulanistan, Cakistan, and Jurzan to a summit to be held in Paris. The Foreign Minister, Dominic Basil, will be attending. Rumors are spreading over the purpose of these talks. However, the government has not revealed this information yet."

Then the box flips to a picture of three young african men.

"Tensions are continuing to mount on the border with Umbazi, as three african teenagers were arrested for attempting to sell Poppy in Ascalon. The boys walked over the border, mistaking the soldiers for border guards, whom had deals worked out the Umbazi regarding such black market deals."

The screen flips away from the anchor in the news room, and to Colonel Dominic Fellichino, commander of the 1st Brigata Meccanizzata.

"We need to paint a picture for the Umbazi. They think that they can walk over here and sell vices like Poppy, whores, or hard liquor. They have had an increase in military activity in the NE, but clearly, the Umbazi people do not listen to, or respect their leaders. The boys will be put in prison."

The screen goes back to the anchor in the news room.

"Well that's all we have for you today. From all of us at DNN, have a good night Ascalon."

It is in the belief of our establishment and thus Government that Ascalon should grant the three Umbazi Teenagers extradition. We understand that they committed a serious crime, but they are, after all, teenagers. With the intense political situation, ascalon should do well to remember that these boys aren't ascaloni citizens and that Umbazi should deliver justice to their citizens the way they feel fit.

We once again urge the Ascalon Government to hand over the three teenagers they have arrested, to face trial in Umbazi and recieve due Justice. First Ever, all Female Infantry Battalion

The 8th Fanteria Brigata is different from all the other infantry brigades within the Ascaloni military. The Brigade is made up of 5,000 female soldiers, all of which have just graduated from 'boot camp'. This is a huge step towards freedom from the churches grip, since until earlier this year, women were not allowed within the military.

About 88% of the girls in the 8th Fanteria Birgata are non-catholics. Which shouldn't be very surprising. Seeing as if your not catholic here in Ascalon you can kiss college goodbye... unless you join the armed forces. So it is only natural that these non-catholic girls seek opportunity when it is finally given to them. Also the oldest recruit within the 8th Fanteria Brigata is 32, with most of the girls falling into the 18-25 age range.

Umbazi Teenagers Turn Violent, Get Shot

The Nethian* Umbazi teenagers who tried to sell poppy inside Ascaloni borders were shot inside the Cordoba Military Prison. They broke off a peice of wall inside their jail cell, sharpened it, and attacked one of the soldiers who were bringing them food. The soldier opened fire, and killed the three young boys. Which may just piss off those Nethy's* more, and have their air strikes get closer and closer to Ascaloni territory.

*OOC: Nethian is a term Makai has been using to describe our Africans. And Nethy is just a slang term for it... possibly even a racial slur.

We are going to say this only once. Ascalon will return the bodies of the teenagers, turn over the officers responsible and all correlating evidence, and cease its interference in our affairs. It will do this in the next 24 hours, or we will forcibly expel all Ascaloni personnel from our territory, and quadruple the security presence we have along our border with Ascalon. Any Ascaloni of ANY age or gender caught attempting to cross over the border in our direction at this point will be shot without warning.

The Commandry joins with the growing chorus in strongly urging Ascalon to return the bodies of the Umbazi boys to their homeland. We also encourage Ascalon to fully cooperate with the international community and allow an independent probe into the boys arrest and deaths.

I believe that Ascalon has shown a serious lapse in diplomatic tact in it's handling of this issue and now a relatively minor drug trafficking offense is threatening to spiral into a major regional conflict. A further escalation of this standoff is unacceptable, Ascalon must begin taking steps to deescalate the conflict with Umbazi.

If you wish to avoid such embarrassments in the future I suggest you take steps to prevent such careless mistakes from occuring, or at least take steps to control the spread of highly damaging information.
