Ascalon Drops it's Calims

The Prime Minister has announced that Parliament has stated that it will be dropping it's claim on the majority of waters in the Mare di Dio. They will recognize the economic exlusion zone. However the Prime Ministe had something to say in response to the Belmont foreign affairs ministry.

"Just how are we even comparable to the Freiheiter regime? What ethnic people have we slaughtered? What nuclear weapons are we holding on to? The Belmont government needs to think before it makes ignorant comments. Hell, it couldn't even hold a conference with the SEEDTO before we realized that they only wished to fufill their own imperialist agendas."

We also question the words of the Hajr and Carentanian Foreign representatives. We were not taking land. Those territorial waters had been are's for centuries, we were not the ones acting in a imperialistic or expansionist manner. Rather the Jurzani companies were 'invading' what has been for sometime rightfully ours. Also the Mare di Dio is not an ocean, it is a big salt water lake. And lakes can have territorial claims. However, we once again have shown our desire for peace and stability by abandoning our perfectly legal and legitimate claims for the sake of peace.

It is the opinion of the Kingdom that the SEEDTO is failing only due to the irresponsible and reckless regime in Ascalon. While the current tensions with SEEDTO are unhelpful for the region, but slanderous claims issued by various offices in the region citing supposed "Belmontien imperialism" only serves to weaken already damaged ties.

Priyanka Chopra now Priyanka Contreras!

Today, October 1, 2010 the Catholic style wedding of MP Martin Contreras and the former Priyanka Chopra were joined in holy matrimony. Priyanka is an Ascaloni-Uroduah actress whose father is the Parliament Representative of Uroduan, which is home to 98% of Ascalon's Uroduah population. She got into Muhammad University, a private school for Muslims, after High School and after getting a two year degree in world history went into the acting business. She has played many un-forgettable roles, in classic Ascaloni movies such as Vengeance (1997), Beaches of Calabria (2001), and much more.

Martin Contreras has followed in his father's footsteps and became the Parliament Representative of Cordoba ever since his father died. He went to St. Peter's University, a private school for Catholics, and got a four year degree in Political Science. He met Priyanka while playing as her lover in the movie Beaches of Calabria. The two have been in love ever since.

PM Berlusconi attends border closing

Ascalon closes off Cenetian Border!

Prime Minister Diego Berlusconi has announced that the border between Ascalon and Cenetis shall be closed and guarded. He claims that this is to keep out active terrorist cells that are operating within Cenetis. However, critics argue that this is simply a way to keep the Jurzani construction workers from reaching their construction sites in the Mare di Dio, without paying Ascalon for ship-rides out there.

Since Ascalon has been arguing and fighting for mandatory free movement within all SEEDT signatory members, it would be hypocritical to bar Jurzani workers from entering Ascalon. However, no one ever said Ascalon couldn't just shut down it's borders from Cenetis. Or at least, that's what the critics say.

Government Celebrates 'Victory' Over Jurzan

Parliament, the Prime Minister, several of Ascalon's wealthiest business men, Ascaloni actors and actresses, and dozens of Church Officials gathered today at Parliament Hall to celebrate. What were they celebrating you might ask? Well according to an information obtained by one of the guests, they were celebrating a 'victory' over the Jurzan oil company and the government of Jurzan as a whole. With the closing of the Cenetis border, Ascalon has cause Jurzan to ask why it is even in the SEEDTO.

Since the closing of the border a government advisory went out to all ferrymen, advising them to rise their prices dramatically. This would make it cost more for the Jurzani government to build the rigs then they could ever hope to make from the oil. You might ask yourself, how can the Ascaloni government do this if it is so pro-free movement of workers? Well the answer is simple, since the waters aren't Ascaloni, Ascalon doesn't have to let Jurzan's workers in freely!

As if this weren't enough, Ascalon has threatened to close it's border with Jurzan if Jurzan leaves the alliance. This will make it literally impossible for any company based in Jurzan to maintain oil rigs in the Mare di Dio. A rally is being organized by the Ascaloni Muslim Community Organization (AMCO) to be held on Monday. The rally will call for an end to the hostility between the government's of Jurzan and Ascalon. The rally will be held in the city of Al As'ad, Uroduan.

We further warm that any attempts against Jurzani sovereignty and territorial integrity will be seen unfavorable by Frescania and we will take any actions we deem necessary. We ask that the Ascaloni government reconsiders it's foreign policy in regards to the Jurzan Question, and works together towards regional progress and solidarity.

Until the Ascaloni government has ceased this policy, all Jurzani migrant workers will be given preferential rates aboard Cenetian passenger liners and Cenetian aeroplanes, who have been authorized to use routes which bypass Ascaloni borders.

Due to the free movement of worker's through the SEEDTO, Ascalon does not need the Cenetis pipeline. We can move the oil through our allies Cakistan and Fulanistan using trucks and trains. Also, anyone attempting to cross the border from Cenetis into Ascalon will be treated as a terrorist, and will be sent back by soldiers. That, or they will face arrest and eventual deportation back into Cenetis.

This policy will continue until a meeting is set up to discuss the territorial rights of Ascalon in the Mare di Dio.
