Touzen rebel forces accuse government of killing ambassadors

SIYANG (Reuters) - Taketoriite rebel forces of the "Nokanawa Defense Group North" have confirmed the death of General Tsukuda, who was in charge of the rebel forces that controlled the embassy district in Nokanawa until the attack by the Continental Army. The attack has led to as of yet unfathomable numbers of casualties amongst the foreign diplomats residing in the area. Takamoto Hideharu, who is the spokesperson for the Defense Group, described Tsukuda as "a patriot and hero, who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the people of Touzen and the global revolution." Takamoto went on to denounce the official version of the events in Nokanawa released by the National Emergency Council, referring to them as "blatant lies."

"The Continental Army and its political arm bear sole responsibility for the thousands of deaths in Nokanawa, both civilian and military. Shizuka claims that his troops attacked our forces after we started to execute hostages. First of all, it is not the practice of the insurgency of the Touzen people to take hostages. After restoring the embassy quarters to the ownership of the citizenry, foreigners in the area were placed under the protection of armed citizen formations as the Constitutional State refused to guarantee their safe withdrawal from the area. Even when directly approached with offers that would guarantee the security of as many lives as possible, the military authorities of the Constitutional State refused to enter into negotiations. The unprovoked Constitutionalist attack on our defensive positions were conducted in a manner of extreme disregard, with heavy mortar and grenade barrages making clear the enemy's intention to take no prisoners, while emphasizing his reckless disregard for the civilians that were still in the area at the time. In the following hours, hundreds of foreigners died through the effects of Constitutionalist gunfire and heavy ordinance as well as fires created by the enemy. Shizuka's men committed mass executions of captured troops, also executing foreigners that were being protected by citizen soldiers at the time of their capture. The National Emergency Council has blood on its hands, but is now seeking to gather international support for its reactionary cause by discrediting the majority of the population in Touzen that is supporting an alternative to the corruption and excesses of the NEC. These lies cannot go uncommented. The criminality of the Constitutional State has reached an appalling level, underlining the necessity for its immediate abolition", he elaborated from a makeshift press center in the suburbs of Western Nokanawa, where fighting between government and rebel forces has intensified over the last 12 hours.

The State-Abolitionist Congress was today discussing the situation in Boliatur, with representatives of the League of Young Regicists informing the participants of the revolutionary situation in the country, but still found time to also issue a joint declaration read out by major rebel leader Taketori, who stated: "[...]While the post-delegationist revolution has no intrinsic special care for foreign representatives of delegationist entities, holding that all men are equal and deserve equal treatment by their peers, it condemns the tyrannic excesses of Nokanawan Statism and vows to hasten up its pursuits to bring about the end of this particular delegationist evil."

Provinces Declare Independence from Imperial Yujin, War

SHANGHU (Reuters) - Following the death of General Sun Daoshi, de facto ruler of several provinces in the southern Lakelands region of Yujin, rebellions have broken out against Imperial authority in several provinces, most notably Xinhai where the Southern Expeditionary Army (SEA) was re-assigned to deter a Vangalan October offensive. It is currently unknown what objectives forces loyal to the late Sun Daoshi hope to achieve.

The Imperial Office of Yujin was unavailable for comment.

General Sun Daoshi was responsible for the recapturing of the major port of Liangang, now devastated by war. In his absence, Hongmenghui forces have made significant inroads into the northern city once again. The Southern Expeditionary Army he commanded was among the largest and most capable fighting forces currently embroiled in the conflict in Yujin. If it opposes the Imperial government, it represents another significant obstacle to peace in Yujin.

Gabu, Guana, Popó Province reject constitutional amendment

PUÁNTENUÁ - Cathiopia's easternmost Provinces have rejected a proposed constitutional amendment that would have granted Christianity, Islam and Judaism special recognition. The amendment, having narrowly passed in Cathiopia's Grand Assembly, had to be accepted by all of Cathiopia's Provinces in order to come into effect.

The three island Provinces had all witnessed large public demonstrations in opposition to the amendment in the period leading to to the local Assembly votes. Guana Province, which is predominantly Muslim, was the first to vote on the amendment, which was swiftly rejected after short debate, although by a smaller margin than in Guana's neighbouring Provinces. In Gabu and Popó Provinces, which both have large Animist communities, the amendment was overwhelmingly defeated.

Cathiopia's other Provinces will no longer have to vote on the amendment. However the local Assembly in Ntandu Province, the Christian heartland of Cathiopia, is to hold an honorary vote in favour of the amendment.

The so-called 'Abrahamic Amendment' had long been controversial in Cathiopian politics. Initially a compromise considered by the ruling Constitution Party to counter legislative efforts to grant only Christian constitutional recognition, it was introduced to the lower house without the Party leadership's approval. Its subsequent success forced the Constitutionalist leadership to endorse the policy, enabling its passing in the Senate.

Religious leaders were divided over whether to support the amendment. Chief Rabbis from the Ntungianu Jewry urged for the passing of the amendment, as did a number of Islamic preachers. The Archbishop of Punta Negra and many other Tiburan Catholics were also in favour. Patriarch Zá X of the Bumósi Church further declared personal support for the amendment, although the majority of lower clergymen were opposed.

President Deogracias Kabila and First Minister Afonso Gizenga have promised to respect the decision of Gabu, Guana and Popó, and vowed to veto any further attempts at constitutional change, and called for new political priorities.

A few junior politicians have already announced plans for further amendment attempts.

Touzen army detects unidentified launch event in Taketoriite controlled territory

SIYANG (Reuters) - One day after Touzen government forces have captured Nokanawa, the Continental Army has reported that it has detected a "high energy launch event" originating from a remote mountainous area approximately 40 kilometers west of the Taketoriite stronghold of Hakata. According to sources that spoke to Reuters Siyang under conditions of anonymity, military seismographs and radar recorded a rapid outburst of energy followed by a quick ascend of an unidentified object above the cloud layer before the trace was lost at around 3:25 PM Nokanawa time.

As of now, the exact nature of this event could not be determined. Corporal Kurosawa of the Continental Army Air Intelligence Division suggested that the events in western Touyou could potentially hint at a test of a new kind of weapon, craft or devise by Taketoriite forces, but he would also not rule out natural causes. "The area west of Hakata is known to harbor several inactive volcanoes, we could potentially be looking at a localized eruption event or an unknown human activity. It would however be highly disturbing to confirm that rebel forces had access to the knowledge and technology to facilitate such an event."

Our informant suggested that the timing of the event was highly unusual, but that no concrete proof existed either way. No Touzen authorities have opted to comment on the reports.

Touzen army detects unidentified launch event in Taketoriite controlled territory (UPDATE)

SIYANG (Reuters) - Reuters had earlier today released a report on an unidentified launch event in Taketoriite Touzen. The Touzen government has since categorically denied that any such event has happened, stating that "no out of the ordinary events have been recorded by any Constitutional State authorities." When contacted for verification of his statements, Corporal Kurosawa of the Continental Army Air Intelligence Division stated that he "absolutely does not" subscribe to the views that were published in his name, emphasizing that even if he would have knowledge of any unusual atmospheric events of military relevance, he would "never share them with the public without prior authorization by the authorities in charge". The erroneous information previously released by Reuters seems to have been published due to a mistake in our publishing approval process. Reuters apologizes for the misinformation.

National Republican Guard opens fire on protest

NKALAMENGA (Reuters) - A march involving supporters of the Pan-Himyarist Congress ended in violence after officers of the National Republican Guard opened fire, killing 23 people and wounding many more. A spokesman for the National Republican Guard has claimed guardsmen were forced to react quickly after protesters started to brandish weaponry, threatening bystanders and guardsmen alike. The Pan-Himyarist Congress has rejected the National Republican Guard's account of events, and insisted its supporters were carrying little more than sticks and work tools.

The demonstration was taking place in the city of Zu, capital of the Province of Popó. Elections for the local council are due next month, and although the Pan-Himyarist Congress shuns open participation in electoral politics, it is believed to be supporting a number of independent candidates.

A curfew is now in place in Zu, with a visible presence from the National Republican Guard and the National Watch, Cathiopia's domestic police service. Many now fear there will be riots in response to the shootings. There has been an increase in the number of incidences of political violence in Cathiopia, and some are calling for greater restrictions on public rallies.

The Pan-Himyarist Congress has promised a day of action tomorrow in reaction to the deaths of its supporters. City Councillors from the Popó People's Party (PPP), the dominant party, are urging the National Republican Guard to prevent the day of action from going ahead. However, Minister of the Interior Jeremías Kasuaka has insisted the event proceeds, but warned against further violence.

The Cathiopian authorities finally show their true faces. Continuously claiming that the Democratic Republic is an affront to the international diplomatic scene, they finally show their true faces, that of a lying and canting political class. For everyone it should be clear that there should be no violence and disrespect being shown in the democratic process, or to the people presenting their own political points of view in a real democracy. Cathiopia is showing us today that as long as the people sings and dances at the orders of their political class, they can call themselves free, if not, they shall receive only lead from the authorities.

The authorities saying that the protesters were carrying guns is just a way of manipulating the foreign diplomacy, to try to present the protesters as the terrorists, when actually, the authorities act exactly like a clique bent on terror. We, the Democratic Republic of Saraar would gladly give refugee to any freedom fighter of the Pan-Himyarist Congress that is hunted by the Cathiopian terror machine. We hope that the people of Cathiopia will rise against the clique in power that in much of their modern history has done nothing but to sell the Cathiopian people to their Frescanian colonist overlords.

Signed,
on behalf of Jenerali Kibwe Sesay,
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayax Ndiaye

Rebels attack Defense Force garrisons

(Reuters) - Attacks by the Herders' Front and the Movement for Maasai Liberation took place today in Saraar. The official government comments say that the Saraari Defense Force managed to defeat rebels attack the garrisons of the cities of Jalalaqsi, Mbazi, Ussure and Ibiri. As a response to the attack, the government led by General Kibwe Sesay has ordered the imposition of a nationwide curfew and the declaration of the state of emergency, the government blaming agents from Cathiopia and New Fennia bent on destabilizing the state of organizing the attacks.

Rumours from the Democratic Republic say other things actually. People leaving Garissa on ferries towards Cathiopia told about how the Herders' Front managed to defeat the Jalalaqsi garrison, while the government forces are hunted allover the Maasai Autonomous Region by the Movement for Maasai Liberation. We still have no certainty on what actually happened in the Himyari state, but one thing is certain, a time of change might come and stop the people of Saraar from singing and dancing for Sesay.

The government ordered the Defense Force to reinforce order into the Maasai Autonomous region and the Eastern Region, with the intent of crushing any rebel movement. The curfew that was declared also comes with an order of shooting on sight given to the soldiers.

Army opens fire on protesters in Garissa

(Reuters) - The army opened fire this evening on protesters in Garissa for staying on the streets, violating the 9pm curfew implemented yesterday. The peaceful protests started at noon when more and more people in the capital started to demonstrate peacefully against the military dictatorship led by General Kibwe Sesay and the one party state that his predecessor General Simba Kamara put in power. The protest started after rumors spread in the city talking about the retreat of the Defense Force from the Eastern Province and the Maasai Autonomous Region, which were followed by a declaration of the Great Ayatollah Abshir Matiba, in which he declared a Jihad against the government in Garissa and said that every Muslim should fight against the dictatorship.

The protesters marched on the Jenerali Kamara Boulevard along the coast and then entered on the 14th of May Boulevard where they men face to face in brutal clashes with the riot police. The protesters then went to the Palace Square, in from of the Palace of the Republic and started shouting slogans against General Sesay and his government, the most popular being "Long leave the party! Long live the people! Long leave the beloved, great army leader!". People organized a sit in protesting against the curfew and demanding Sesay's resignation and the adoption of the 1923 Constitution, which promised free elections and an end to absolute monarchy, today that being synonymous with Sesay's regime.

At 2200 hours, the Defense Force stormed the Palace Square opening fire. The government didn't issue any statement, but its believed that more than 70 people were killed and many more wounded. Rumors in the streets say that there is no official statement, because all ministers ran away, leaving Sesay in his sinking ship.

Revolutionary Victory in Saraar; Declaration of the United Republic of Saraar

GARISSA (Reuters) - The soldiers of the Revolutionary Committee of the Islamic People, the Movement of the Maasai Liberation and of the Herders' Front have entered today in the capital city of Garissa, after the old head of state, General Kibwe Sesay ran away from the city. The leader of the Herders' Front and Head of the Transitional Government, Tendaji Turay declared that in two weeks from today, there will be elections organized and declared the disbandment of the Democratic Republic and the creation of the United Republic.

Tendaji Turay also announced the disbandment of the Herders's Front, a move that was followed by the Maasai Council and the Great Ayatollah Abshir Mathiba, who all declared that their militias will be disbanded by the time of the general elections that will take place in two weeks. The leaders of the Transitional Government also announced the creation of four political parties in the newly born Saraari democratic scene. Those being the Herders' Union (social democrat), the National Alliance Party (conservative), the Democratic Liberal Party (center-right) and the Minorities' Alliance (centrist but created to defend the ethnic minorities).

The Transitional Government moved fast and in the afternoon of the same day in which they arrived in the capital, they have declared null and void the 1945 Constitution of Saraar and declared that the new constitution of the state will be an amended version of the 1923 Constitution, which will transform the country into a semi-presidential republic.

In the middle of all the celebrations of victory of democracy, there are still people worried that General Sesay may return to Garissa with reinforcements, as he was seen running away from the capital towards the north, and no one heard anything about him since then, nor about many of the members of his government. The minister of defense Lulumba Njenga surrendered yesterday to the Herders' Front along with two hundred soldiers that came with him to Tunduma to meet with Tendaji Turay, commonly known as Comrade Turay. Minister Njenga was amnestied by Turay, as he promised when he began his guerrilla fight that everyone who surrenders before he victoriously enters Garissa will be forgiven. Lulumba Njenga is the only member of the government who used this way to save himself from being accused for collaborating with Sesay's regime.

The Republic of Cathiopia cautiously welcomes the demise of the brutal regime of General Kibwe Sesay, although at this point shall make no effort to recognise the new transitional government, as recognition will be dependent on upholding commonly accepted standards of governmental practice.

The Republic of Cathiopia also hopes the Kingdom of Eiffelland was not equating the actions of the National Republican Guard to the massacre of civilians by the old Saraari junta.

Kamarist rebels loyal to Sesay attack Garissa

GARISSA (Reuters) - Militias still loyal to General Kibwe Sesay the last ruler of the Democratic Republic of Saraar attacked yesterday morning the capital Garissa, in hopes of retaking it before the elections take place. In the battle that ensured, between Kamarist militiamen on one side and police and soldiers of the National People's Army of Saraar on the other, around seventy people were killed. The Kamarists attacked from the north but were intercepted in the industrial district, in a moment in which there weren't any civilians present. After a shootout that lasted around four hours, the Kamarists retreated.

The battle in the industrial district was but a mere decoy, as another force tried to capture the building from where Radio Voice of Saraar were broadcasting. To stop them broadcasting anything, the army interrupted the building's power supply and started besieging the building. After two hours, the army stormed the building, killing thirty rebels, capturing twenty three, with minimal casualties. After the defeat, the rebels retreated to the north.

"This was Sesay's last desperate attack to break us before the United Republic would become legitimate, because of the elections. After looking at all the reports coming from Tabora and from Bute, I sincerely believe that this attack exhausted Sesay's manpower and resources and will make him surrender sooner. The NPA will be sent do the north, to finally deal with the dictator and bring him to justice once and for all," commented the head of the Transitional Government, Tendaji Turay.

We are a bit puzzled about this reaction from the Cathiopan Ministry of the Exterior. We didn't equate anything with anything. However, both in Saraar and in Cathiopa, the situation can be called tense. That is the reason why we said that we will follow the events in both countries with interest.

Carentania accuses Valkanian government of genocide in East Cape

Rijeka (REUTERS) - In an emergency press conference, called in response to "the speed with which events in southern Himyar unfold", Carentanias Commissar for Foreign Affairs has lambasted Valkanian actions, calling them a genocide. The Workers' Republic considers the entire rule of Valkany over the East Cape an illegal occupation, but Commissar Jerman furthermore stressed that "putting this question aside, the Valkanian actions in Himyar clearly express a desire to forcefully remove any presence of black Himyari people from their colonial holdings. The only possible word for this crime is that of genocide."

With its comment on the situation in the far south, Carentania not only refers to the latest wave of executions and forceful expulsions perpetuated by the Valkanian troops in the Eastern Cape, but to the general policy of the Valkanian state regarding the natives. Black Himyari are not considered citizens by the colonial authorities in the East Cape, essentially rendering the natives in the East Cape a stateless people. This position of rightlessness has, in the past, served to justify forceful expulsions and the expropriation of land and wealth by white settlers.

The Workers' Republic has signalled it is willing to cooperate with other European powers to contain the Valkanian actions and Commissar Jerman said during the press conference that Carentania was already in process of drafting up a proposal to approach "trusted partners" with. However, the pace of the events in the South Cape threatens to outrun the walk of diplomacy.

Valkanian Government Running Our of Options in South Himyar

Reuters: Valkany's minister of foreign affairs responded by saying that Blacks in the colony are Second Class citizens without voting rights in the general parliament but they have basic rights such as the right to property and they an also vote for the local administration. He also highlighted that there is no intention to eradicate the local native population and there have been no actions resembling a genocide.

Any action in south Himyar would also be considered military action and Valkany has a standing military numbering hundreds of thousands making such a decision very unwise. Valkany's diplomatic officials and state leaders have repeatedly attempted to peacefully resolve the situation with the natives but after the massacre of Valkanian settlers by natives they are running out of options, with the central administration under heavy pressure by the Valkanian public to forcefully deal with the crisis especially after the native's performed various terrorist attacks in mainland Valkany and massacred the population of Kronigsberg.

We congratulate Worker's Republic of Carentania in their initiative to finally stop the mischief that takes place in Himyar because of Valkanian criminal imperialism. The peoples that live in South Eastern Himyar need to be saved by the criminals that want to take their lands and throw them into oblivion. Tyrrhenia fully supports the action took by the Carentanian commissars and we would like the whole civilized world to join in and help us make the world a better place, without imperialism and exploitation. The peoples of Himyar have suffered so much from colonialism, but Valkanian actions are reaching a apogee of violence, murder and mass rapes. All those actions need to be stopped as the human needs to be saved from the wretched beast that destroys anything in his way: civilization, respect and good will.

In response to this, the President of the Socialist Republic, Despina Katsaros, would like to come to Rijeka in a state visit and to meet the Carentanian Commissariats Assembly and with Commissar Tomas Jerman in particular, to see what can be done for all those actions to be stopped. The civilized world needs to stand and get over their differences to stop this and make the Valkanian ruling cliques understand, that the human rights cannot be tarnished and minimized or even nullified like this.

Workers of the world, unite!

Gustavo Gusmão (Reuters Portusgalian Correspondent) - The Secretary of the Kingdom Issue on Eastern Cape

The news brought by the winds from the south about the massacres well demonstrate the concept of civilization nailed by Emperor Demetrius! The Civilization of death, exploitation, lack of moral values and even materials. It was a good start to the reign of Demetrius, who uses his foreign minister to justify all their actions.
As Secretary of the Kingdom, and the Kingdom being a power with centuries of presence in Himyar, I have to declare to the world that Valkany Civilization is not the same as ours. Portusgalia will not cooperate with the slaughters to innocent people! For many excuses that the authorities arrange to blame the natives, their reaction was proof of the fiasco of the Valkany exploration of that territory. And I repeat EXPLORATION!
This is the position of the Portusgalian Government, and the Sovereign Congress, thous the position of the Portusgalian People, because blacks in Himyar are also Portusgalians not "Natives"!

Rebel Forces defeated in Port Victoria! Rebels surrender en mass after Valkany announces laws granting them equal rights to Whites and granting them amnesty!

The native forces attempting to capture Port Victoria were routed today by Valkanian forces defending the city! The city's brave defenders made up of both the Expeditionary force and the Colony's residents fought bravely and pushed the Rebel assault back! Blacks and Whites, Men and Women of all ages united together to help defend the city showing that there still is unity among the Valkanian people! The Rebels lost half their army, about 170,000 men, while the Defenders lost 8,000 combatants and 632 civilians. The Rebel forces have retreated to the native city of Umlazu but they aren't expected to recover from their losses. The Valkanian Army has surrounded Umlazu and is expected to have captured it by tomorrow. Earlier this day Emperor Demetrius XV announced that all Native Himyaris living in or coming from the Eastern Cape colony would be granted citizenship and rights equal to those of the White settlers! The representatives of both the Natives and the Settlers have expressed their satisfaction at the Government's decision. As a result 50,000 Rebels have deserted from the Rebel Army and laid down their weapons as they say that their hopes and dreams for equality have been fulfilled while after a new round of negotiations Rebel second in command Gromgaro Chestadubo along with his 75,000 men has surrendered to the Valkanian army. As such less than 100,000 men still remain loyal to Rebel leader Brogdoro Abundagubu. The Valkanian Administration has announced that all Rebels laying down their arms will not be prosecuted, provided they have not murdered, raped or harmed civilians, and that there will not be mass prosecutions or deportations after the revolt. Also the Emperor and Minister of Colonial Affairs announced that they would personally make sure all Black Valkanians would get an arable piece of land after the revolt is over.
