Violent Quelling of Post-Delegationist/Liberal Demonstration in Boganhem

SEESHLOSS (Reuters) - Despite the reports of major Bogan media, the riots and demonstrations in Seeshloss were very violent and bloody. A demonstration of post-delegationists and liberals in the traditionally revolutionary city of Seeshloss ended up in bloodshed.

It all began last saturday, when, disappointed with the political course of the country and what he sees as 'Social-Nationalist oppression', Manfred Krakker, leader of the post-delegationist faction of the Free Liberal Party, summoned a demonstration against the perceived 'domination in politics and rhetoric of the Social-Nationalist Union'. After alleged agents provocateurs, members of the SNU, turned the demonstrations violent, supposedly spontaneous social-nationalist 'People's Brigades', in reality, unofficial paramilitary of the SNU, violently trIED the quell and silence the post-delegationists and liberals. Unofficial estimates talk of at least 100 demonstrators and 50 counter-demonstrators killed.

Earlier today, the People's Army intervened and definitely quelled the riot, firing indiscriminately against the protestors, with over more 200 dead and blood all over the streets. More than 2,000 demonstrators, including the FLP leader Manfred Krakker, were arrested, and though they are supposedly awaiting trial, they were transferred to unofficial prisons, more akin to concentration camps, some reports say.

Bloodbeard's Ship Found After 350 Years, Havenshire Demands Return

NKALAMENGA(Reuters)

What began as an interesting but largely academic story concerning the discovery and recovery of a 17th century pirate vessel has now begun to take on the dimensions of an international diplomatic incident. Our sources can now confirm that a team of privately funded scientists and historians who were investigating the wreck of the Harlot Queen after the coast of Cathiopia have inadvertently stumbled into a hurricane of charged political demands and accusations, as the People's Republic of Havenshire accuses them of embezzling the heritage of the people and stealing gold bullion which rightfully belongs to the Havenite state.

This claim has triggered an amazing furore of legal and political wrangling, as representatives from Cathiopia, Engellex, Frescania, the Tulu and Biminis Islands, the Havenite Royal Family-in-Exile and the Havenite Communist government have all been dispatched to Nkalamenga, whilst the archaeological finds recovered from the wreck have been impounded and placed under guard in the harbour.

The centre of the claim rests around records which show that Captain James Silas Quinn, aka "Bloodbeard", was operating under a Letter of Marque issued by the High Prince of Havenshire in the summer of 1703, and which extended into the winter of 1706. During this time, and for a few months afterwards, "Bloodbeard" terrorised Frescanian shipping, ranging as far as Cathiopia and even the Tulu and Biminis Islands, amassing a fortune in bullion. However, in the spring of 1707, when he attempted to bring this cargo of stolen silver and other valuables back to Havenshire, his vessel, a 21-gun brigantine called the Harlot Queen, was lost off the coast of Cathiopia, with few known survivors, and the location untill now largely unknown.

Using personal papers and diaries sold at auction some years ago by Havenite expatriates who fled the Revolution, the scientific team organised by the University of Dulwich set off to find the ship, and, having done so, invested in new deep-sea diving technologies to raise the wreck and recover its valuable artifacts. However, it did not report finding any substantial amount of Bullion, which was somehow picked up by the Communist authorities in Havenshire, who now claim the team is attempting to steal bullion from the People's Republic.

Given that the valuable booty was stolen from Frescanian ships operating out of Cathiopia and the Tulu and Biminis islands, and that the wreck was sunk in Cathiopian waters, the legal battle over who owns the treasure, assuming there even is any, is unclear. Further complicating matters, the privately funded expedition is also attempting to secure the backing of neutral governments across Europe to press their claim that all archaeological finds are now private property, and are to be displayed accordingly in private museums.

Reuters and Associated Press guilty of bribery and national security violations

SHAHDARA (Reuters) - Reuters International News Agency and Associated Press have been forbidden to operate in the People's Republic of Vangala indefinitely after Chattananga People's Court ruled both organisations were guilty of attempted bribery of state and party officials and numerous national security violations. Both news agencies strongly reject all allegations of any wrongdoing, and both claim their staff were approached by Vangalan Communist officials offering greater access and information in return for financial compensation.

Reuters International News Agency and Associated Press were briefly allowed to report in the highly secretive People's Republic following the successful repulsion of Imperial Yujin's invading force. Photographs of Vangalan military units published by both agencies led to claims of national security breaches, which were soon accompanied by accusations of attempted bribery.

Reuters International News Agency and Associated Press are considering an appeal against the verdict, although are facing logistical difficulties with legal staff, with the Vangalan authorities delaying visa approvals and complicating transport and security arrangements.

The ruling undermines efforts by the central Vangalan government to normalise diplomatic relations with the international community. Members of the Village Peace Force, a Communist militia operating in remote areas of Vangala, recently detained Potenzan missionaries for proselytising, an act forbidden by Vangalan socialist law. Analysts suspect there is now growing tension between the more pragmatic national government and more radical local authorities.

Unreported Extreme Violence Occurred in Boganhem's New Nationalizations and Land Reform Programme

MALACHOR (Reuters) - Yesterday, Boganhem's People's Councilor for Finance and Economy, Rëner Rëder, announced a widespread nationalization and land reform programme, which has been criticized in Bogan circles outside Boganhem for being 'too drastic' and for disregarding 'fair compensation' to the former shareholders or landowners.

However, reports say that many of those expropriated owners, especially big rural landowners, most descending from the former nobility, have refused to accept this new programme, not allowing their workers to occupy their properties and resisting the People's Army, who is in charge of enforcing such land redistribution. Nevertheless, resistance was met with extreme violence and, despite the difficulty in obtaining data, most of the landowners who are resisting the occupations, have been killed or severely wounded. Most of the land partitions and redistributions were enforced by the peasants who work the land themselves, wearing uniform of the semi-official Social-Nationalist militia, the folksbrigaden, having burnt down houses and, in some cases, killing entire families. Reports speak of 50 dead.

Similar situations are reported in occupations of corporations, albeit in a smaller number, with hundreds of factories and offices being occupied by the workers. Our sources state that in these last incidents, only 10 shareholders/managers who resisted the occupations have been killed.

The reports of the Reuters News Agency are exaggerated and sensationalist. It is true that, by means of a decision of a democratically-elected and legitimated decision, the nationalization of many industries and entreprises and the widespread land reform in Boganhem, were undertaken, and are, as all confiscations and nationalizations of the kind, were undertaken forcefully.

However, it is a lie that angry mobs killed landowners and shareholders. The People's State of Boganhem does not sponsor indiscrimate killing of its own kind and all confiscations were undertaken under the supervision of the People's Army, who prevented sporadic episodes of violence and tension. There were no dead, there were wounded resulting from those spontaneous confrontations, but the military intervened to prevent further violence.

We would recommend the Reuters Agency to select their sources in a more unbiased and non-sensationalist fashion and we assure the Grand Duchy of Potenza that no killings occurred.

There are many ways of achieving social justice, on one hand, and there are many definitions of 'social justice', on the other. It is true that a progressive tax system and minimum wages are a good start, but they have already been implemented in Boganhem. And while those are positive measures, they are not enough, not in Boganhem. In Boganhem, especially in the countryside, the old nobility still controls the peasants and the economy while having done nothing to deserve so - they use only their coats of arms and their blood as a justification for their property, and their existence threatens the political emancipation of the peasants, always dependent on them, always fearing them, even if they pay more taxes. The great majority of those peasants would never have the opportunity to have their plot of land, or to free themselves from their lords. But that's why those peasants voted in the Social-Nationalist Union - they share a belief with the People's State's government - the belief that the right to property over means of production is not absolute, but is functional - it is submitted to a certain social end. If it ceases to be fulfill this end (the case of big properties owned by the nobility who produced very few products and not those demanded by the economy), then the People must sieze it - because the land is not divisible, it is popular property, and any 'individual right to property' is merely a delegation by the People. Always revokable.

That is the way the Bogan people and the Folksrad sees this question - it is not the same as the traditional conception in European countries, but that is only natural. We had no Tiburan occupation, and the modern absolute conception of the right to property is rooted in Tiburan law. The law of the original Germanic peoples had a more communal conception of property, which has unfourtunately been corrupted by Tiburan ideas. In Boganhem, property over the land is viewed as something ultimately collective, and were are merely instruments in the hands of that idea, almost universally accepted in Boganhem.

And of course they are carried out by force - it is a nationalization, not a sale. The coercive character of the nationalization is what differentiates it from a contract, which is consensual. A contract is a voluntary act, while a nationalization is an administrative act, unilateral and coercive. A contract belongs to civil law, to matters which the law considers to be disposible by individuals. A nationalization belongs to administrative law, matters which the law consider of too much social importance to be in the hands of individuals. It is like that in Boganhem and all over Europe.

Vangalan government-in-exile near collapse

SHAHDARA (Reuters) - The Emergency Government of the United Princely States is near collapse after the sinking of Vangalan fishing vessels by the Sikandari imperial navy. Tensions between the Emergency Government and the Sikandari government were already high after the Sikandari military held provocative war games near the border with the People's Republic of Vangala, which the Emergency Government denounced. Secular, Hindu and Buddhist factions have also accused the Sikandari government of favouring Muslim factions within the Emergency government.

The Emergency Government of the United Princely States, the formal title of the Vangalan government-in-exile, was formed after the success of Communist Revolutionaries in 1952. Comprised of the different ruling princely families of the former Franconian colony, and a coalition of anti-Communist parties, the Emergency Government enjoys diplomatic recognition from most of the international community. However, recently many foreign governments have started to normalise relations with the Communist regime in Vangala, with many countries now maintaining a pragmatic policy of dual recognition.

Following the sinking of the Vangalan fishing boats, the All-Union Congress Party and a host of smaller parties and independent politicians have left the Emergency Government and threatened to form an alternative government-in-exile, possibly based in Franconia, the previous host of the Emergency Government. Speaking to Reuters news agency, Morshed Khan, foreign affairs spokesperson for the Muslim League of Vangala, accused those leaving the Emergency government of being Communist puppets.

The Sikandari government has yet to make a formal announcement regarding the troubles of the Emergency government, to whom it has been a great benefactor.

So it surprises us that claims such as the ones mentioned in the Reuters article have surfaced, leading us to believe that the entire episode is a fabrication of Vangalan propagandists. On the issue of the fishing boat incident, the Imperial Government has allocated a decent amount of compensation for the families of the victims and deposited it with the Emergency Government to be disbursed under their supervision and guidance. Furthermore, we would like to say, to all parties concerned within the Emergency Government that, official policy of this government does not take into account creating religious divisions and ethnic hatred. The inner machinations of the Emergency Government are of little importance to us. The Imperial Government is simply a host to the rightful and legal representatives of the Vangalan people. Any attempt to portray us in any other light would be wholly and totally incorrect and driven not by truth but by the virulent drivel emerging from the propagandists in Kilkila at this time. Embassy standoff continues amongst rumors of imminent attack

SIYANG (Reuters) - The standoff in the Touzen capital of Nokanawa continues into its third day as both government and rebel forces have by now confirmed a holdout of an unknown number of Taketoriite fighters inside the city's diplomatic quarter. Government forces continued shelling the western parts of Nokanawa, where Taketoriite forces remain in control in spite of continued Continental Army efforts to bring the entire city under it's control. Sources on the ground report that the government's push to the western parts has slowed down while more and more troops are being deployed around the encircled rebel forces in the embassies, raising fears of a potential attack on the area that could put hundreds of foreign diplomats at risk. The presumed rebel commander inside the Nokanawa Pocket, Brigade General Tsukuda, had yesterday unilaterally withdrawn the extraterritorial status of the foreign embassies, saying that their compounds would be incorporated into the Taketoriite defense strategy. While the fate of the diplomatic personnel manning these embassies was not mentioned, it seems as if the encircled insurgents might be preventing their escape from the area in what could effectively be a hostage situation, although any details regarding the situation remain unclear as Taketoriite forces have not yet again broadcasted from the encircled area. A source close to the rebel center of Hakata indicated that the Taketoriite leadership would address the public, and by extension, the international community, regarding the situation inside the embassy district sometime tomorrow.

The Continental Army meanwhile has remained tight-lipped about its commitment to any potential deal that would allow for the evacuation of foreign naturals from the area, stating that "no rebel forces will be allowed a potential avenue of escape that would allow them to regroup with other terrorist forces in western Nokanawa." The National Emergency Council, the highest political body that currently exists in the Constitutional State, meanwhile tried to reassure foreign governments, with a spokesman releasing a statement that the security of foreign nationals in the Constitutional State was a "priority" for the armed forces of the post-delegationist country.

Continental Army pioneers were also reported to have sealed off the sewer system under the city to prevent the escape of rebel fighters. Residents reported power shortages throughout the area, potentially the result of Continental Army preparations to attack the embassy quarter. Despite the dramatic developments of the last hours, no shots were heard from the area as of yet.

The Republic of Cathiopia has grave misgivings over the current situation in Nokanawa, despite reassurances from the National Emergency Council. We remain unconvinced of the ability of the Continental Army to guarantee the safety of diplomatic staff while attempting to remove rebel forces from the area. It would be very unfortunate for Touzen, which has previously been a leader of the Free World and example to all people of colour, to be the site of a horrendous bloodbath in which foreign dignitaries from all corners of the globe were massacred, as well as countless of its own citizenry.

We thus implore the National Emergency Council to reconsider its position regarding an evacuation of foreign personnel from the diplomatic quarter, and urge other nations to join us in doing so.

Senate gives their ruling, Rafael Ramirez wanted for treason

HEREDIA (Reuters) - According to the current constitution, the Republican Senate of Auraria, which is a hereditary body designed to only put people with only the greatest republican virtues into power, has the power to review and regulate the Supreme Electoral Tribunal and elections as a whole. This power is removed in the Federal Republicans’ Constitution, interestingly enough.

The Senate was called together to give a ruling on the recent special elections in Auraria that have generated such controversy in the nation. The Senate’s ruling shocked the entire nation. The Senate ruled that they found no concrete evidence that any election fraud has occurred and that 600,000 votes were not counted. The Senate stated that Rafael Ramirez, chairman of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, has always had affiliations to the communists, and made up these accusations so to advance the communists in Auraria. The Senate stated his actions were treasonous and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

The Senate finalized, and was approved by the Council of Censors, that the new Chamber will be sworn into power on Friday, November 8.

Mezhist Government seeks dialogue with Sylvania, rumours

GIECZ (Reuters) – Rumours have been doing the rounds in the federal capital which seem to suggest that the Mezhist Government is trying to stop the outbreak of hostilities from occurring in the Thaumantic between itself and the Republic of Sylvania. The official spokesman for the government has stated that the Mezhist Union is investigating all options aimed at stabilising the situation. According to sources, the Government has been attempting to open direct channels of contact with the Sylvanian government but is also considering a range of other options as well.

While the Mezhist Government has adopted a pacific approach, other Occidental countries, such as Auraria and Warre, neither positively predisposed towards the Sylvanians, have been supportive of the Mezhist and are possibly now looking for an opportunity to settle their regional rivalry. The continued tensions in the Thaumantic have drawn criticism from Andaluz which has asked all parties to guarantee the security of mercantile traffic, a request which the Mezhist Union has approved. The Mezhist Government, at the time of writing, was said to have summoned a meeting of legal advisers to review the terms of the lease agreement and see areas of possible compromise, discussion and dialogue.

The flag is waved over Vesper, a conquered capital of a conquered nation, if those who care to see it heed the call. Give us this chance to bring diplomats together for a short time, before shots are fired, to help decide the fate of so many Christian lives under the banners of so many other domains but Christendom incarnate.

Diplomats from all Nations must join us at the University Conference Center at Vesper, if they so choose, to build a multi-lateral response to this ongoing situation. This conflict could very well cross beyond the Occident, extending to all corners of the world, as the flame of war burns with such devastation in Yujin, Monkecia, and Bantyr.

We do not ask that Danmark, the Mezhist Union, or Sylvania come in to this neutral ground of diplomacy with anything but their full passion and value. All we ask is that several other nations assert themselves to account these major world powers to seek a reasonable agreement that prevents a surefire genocide linked to this clash of powers.
