His Majesty's Government is prepared to assist the government of Nicoisa in setting up the constitutional commission and running the process of writing a basic law for Nicosia. There are numerous Franconian scholars and government workers who could provide their invaluable assistance to the people of Nicosia.

DULWICH, MONDAY, 12th DECEMBER 2011

The Right Honourable The Secretary of State has received the Command of her Imperial and Royal Engellexic Majesty The Queen-Empress
to make known the following gracious Statement of her Imperial and Royal Engellexic Majesty
to the King, and Lordships of the Kingdom of Nicosia.

An Extension of The Queen-Empress' Statement in Council.

TO THE KING, AND LORDSHIPS OF THE KINGDOM OF NICOSIA

I am instructed to EXPRESS on behalf of her Imperial and Royal Engellexic Majesty;

Her Majesty the Queen-Empress writes to me word of the surprise at Court and, indeed, Parliament, from the Chancellor’s words, to find how real the disregard was with which the Engellexic letters were received.

If this should happen to be queried or observed upon by the Press Corps of Parliament, it would be impossible for any Minister of the Queen-Empress to not explain to them that Great Engellex and Nicosia are two very distinct states in Preuti-Borussia; one that embraces the opportunities and difficulties of popular representation and accountability for two hundred years, the other, enduring a state of resistance for a similar length of time - while supported by an unpopular and difficult entity.

Towards the Chancellor we all feel that his reception of the cordial, and intelligent, advice which was expressed by words and deeds by myself, and the Northern Department; all old sentiments of rivalship and antagonism as between Great Engellex and the now defunct Federation as, from our perception, totally unacceptable.

But with regard to the Constitutional Reform, and the Federation by natural extension, we see, from time to time, measures taken and schemes put forward which whether framed or not in hostility to Engellex, are, in our opinion, calculated to be injurious to our imperial interests. Such schemes, therefore, we do our best to oppose and to defeat; not, as some Federation Courts endeavour to make out, from hatred of the Federation and to everything that it touches, but solely from that watchful care of the interests of our country which it is the duty of her Majesty the Queen-Empress and her Ministers to exert.

The result should be that, on the one hand, the Nicosian King ought not to see our opposition to his schemes of republicanism as anything inconsistent with the friendly reception in the present, and late, meetings of Engellexic and Federation militaries; and, on the other hand, the Nicosian King should not infer, from the friendliness of such meetings, that we shall be any more likely to give way upon any matters in which the interests of Great Engellex are concerned.

By the Grace of GOD, of the UNION of GREAT ENGELLEX, CHARLOTTE, the QUEEN-EMPRESS, through the SECRETARY of STATE, Sir ANTHONY PELHAM-HOLLES

Nicosia 'is no pawn' says King

Syracuse

With times certainly changing, Nicosia and her government appear to be growing weary of outsiders. With the Constitutional Commission set to first meet on Thursday, several nations have offered opinions; none more vocal than Engellex. The King spoke today, announcing that specific voting criteria should be issued by the Constitutional Commission sometime soon. The voting criteria would be primarily district residency according to an inside source. "Nicosia is no pawn, she isn't even a game piece. Nicosians just want to be left alone. We want to determine our own future. We will play nobody's game. We believe in what sovereignty means. We believe in the basic rights of nations to defend themselves and to determine their own path" said the King during his speech.

Constitutional Convention meets, reportedly appoints Chairman

Syracuse

Friday, the Constitutional Convention met for the first time at the Grand Forum. The King opened the session in which he wished the convention best of luck and requested to be informed regularly of accomplishments. The King also reminded the convention of its duties and to not waiver in face of them. The session on Friday focused primarily on formalities and the forming of its voting procedures. In total, the convention is comprised of 45 elected municipal officials from throughout Nicosia, 2 judges, and the governor of the Bartholomew Islands, Anton Marco. Reportedly, Marco was elected as chairman of the convention. The convention is expected to meet Monday and then break until the 27th.

Numerous groups stood outside the Grand Forum sporting signs of various slogans. Security was heavy and is expected to remain elevated until the end of the convention. Tourist groups have been banned from the Grand Forum until the conclusion of the convention.

Constitutional Commission releases election codes

Syracuse

Governor of the Bartholomew Islands, Anton Marco, was confirmed quietly on Monday as the Commission's chairman. Friday, Marco announced the release of the first draft of the new National Election Codes. During the press conference, Marco stated that the new code will "not be a final draft but will closely represent our final proposal". Following a near unanimous decision by the Commission, the King is required to review the final draft of the National Election Codes but has no say in them.

The 87 point code lays out a groundwork for electoral districts and a 40 member legislature. In addition to the 40 elected members, 5 appointed members will sit on the legislature. The 5 appointed members will be required to denounce any party affiliation and will have only partial voting rights. The code also allows for all Nicosians 17 or older to vote. The Commission failed to reach a date for elections and has stated it will be up the King to set a date on completion of their reformed constitution. "This is not a matter to be rushed" said Marco.

Car bomb rocks Juan Talpo Airport, 2 death. 5 injured

Ajaccio

What authorities are calling a 'small' car bomb exploded in the early morning hours of Sunday at Ajaccio's regional airport. Authorities suspect the bomb was meant to explode earlier rather than 3AM. The explosion killed at least 2 people and injured 5. The airport remains shutdown with flights being re-routed to Syracuse International Airport.

Police have stated that nobody has claimed responsibility as of yet and they are investigating.

Democracy movement sweeping Tillot Royal College

aħdar Lag

The small college nestled in center of Nicosia is usually quiet. Founded by Nicosian Orthodox monks in 1692, the campus sits on a tiny green lake. Now, a democratic movement has swept through the campus. Students have begun to initiate sit-ins in university buildings. Students are demanding the 'Royal' be taken out of the college's name. Students are also placing signs and banners in the town decrying the retention of the monarchy.

Police say they will not intervene as long as laws are not broken.

Tien Hau sinking highlights failures, Nicosians stunned

Syracuse

The sinking of the Yujiner vessel 'Tien Hau' has caused extreme stir amongst Nicosians. Public services and schools have been closed for Monday. King Alexander held a press conference today in which he called the sinking of "the Yujiner vessel as a tragedy which further highlights the failures of the world community". King Alexander stated that Nicosia would do everything possible to protect neutral ships but warned that "the Nicosian navy is small. Nicosia has been a small but deeply important hub for world trade. The Nicosian naval forces are stretched to their limits but will endeavor to protect all that enter Nicosia's vicinity".

"I just cannot believe something of this nature could happen. It just goes to show that the Long Sea will continue to be a volatile place for some time" said almond farmer Tomas Arpento. The Chancellor is expected to address the nation tomorrow at noon.

Police arrest Solaris exiles, increase in national security

Ajaccio

Police have arrested 7 in connection with the Juan Talpo Airport bombing and released 5. Police say that "all seven had been implicated in the bombing. 5 have been released due to lack of evidence". Police stated that the 2 remaining in custody are strongly tied to the bombing.

Military personnel returned to some areas of the country along with checkpoints "in order to protect Nicosians and foreign nationals". Many suspect it is a move to protect the nation's tourism industry. Last week, the government released its tourist statistics which many felt were lacking. The statistics point to the hyper-rich demographic as a key piece of tourism's stability. Skeptics argue that the industry is precarious. The statistics indicate that Nicosia barely met its targets for the second half 2011 but are barely meeting January target numbers.

Chancellor comments on Tien Hau, Danzig Embassy Crisis. Valdez announces resignation.

Syracuse

With the abrupt sinking of the neutral Tien Hau, another tragedy has stuck the world as the embassy of Danzig to Europaland was stormed. The terrorists, clearly motivated by communist ideals, have released a list of demands. Nicosia immediately removed its staff among fears that it once again would become victims. Chancellor Valdez spoke on the current state of the world and announced his intention to resign on February 1st. Many Nicosians expected the announcement but were surprised at the date.

"Nicosians,

I have had the great pleasure of serving two Kings and the Nicosian people. Now, I serve during a time of great distress. Not just for Nicosia, but for the world. The world is under attack. The sinking of the Tien Hau was a truly offensive act. One that upset the world and the Nicosian people. I wish to report that the incident is under investigation and that experts are speculating that environmental impact will be minimal. Now we must look as to why and how. We will work with Yujiner authorities to fully investigate this incident.

Yet another tragedy faces us. Danzig's Europalandian embassy has been stormed and terrorists are holding hostages. We stand fully by Danzig at this hour and urge Europaland to bring these thugs to justice. These violations of international law and custom cannot be accepted. They cannot be supported. Nicosia stands by the principles of international custom and law.

The world must awaken. Once, Nicosia called on the international community to defend these principles. They ignored our pleas. Now the world is thrust into wars that engulf the corners or the globe. We openly beg the international community to join us in opposition to these acts and to defend the standard that is international custom and law. We openly beg the international community to defend the peace and to push once again for a world where things are done with the pen, not the gun.

I have seen many trials and many accomplishments. I wish to announce that I am resigning my position as Chancellor. This was a decision of a personal nature and not one that is political. There has been much speculation that I will seek a position in the future elected government. This is a decision I have yet to make. I must place my family first. My resignation will become effective on the 1st of February. Until then I will do everything I can to serve both King and country.

Good day and G-d bless".

Nicosia initiates formal investigation into sinking of Tien Hau, King promises increased security

Syracuse

According to inside sources, a formal investigation into the sinking of the Tien Hau will be launched starting Monday. Sources indicate that the Royal Coast Guard and Royal Navy will lead the investigation and will work with Yujiner authorities. The Nicosian Navy located the ship on the ocean floor today. Royal Coast Guard officials warn that the area may be infested with remaining Solaris submarines. Chancellor Valdez also stated that a memorial to those lost will be constructed on land and he has asked the Yujiner ambassador to dedicate it.

The King spoke today, promising that Long Sea patrols will be increased along merchant shipping lanes. Defense analysts remain skeptical as Nicosian maritime forces are already stretched to their limits.

We are grateful to the Kingdom of Nicosia for it's swift response, its concern for the global community, and its cooperation with our own personnel. The efforts of the Nicosians are inspiring, especially considering the threat they face so close to their homeland. We will cooperate and coordinate our investigation with Nicosian authorities, and hope that our combined efforts will create greater stability not only for international corporations, but for Nicosia itself. We look forward to the establishment of lasting peace in the region, and continued cooperation with our Nicosian partners.

The actions of one of our citizens in Nicosia is deplorable. Talemantine authorities are here to cooperate with the Nicosian authorities in all aspects of this investigation. We do request that the Talemantine citizen(s) be given access to the Talemantine Legation.

Initial Tien Hau Report

Syracuse

The Royal Nicosian Navy has released its initial findings on the Tien Hau but cautioned that the investigation could take weeks. A Royal Navy spokesman stated that underwater cameras and remote controlled submersibles have investigated the wreck. The report indicates that at least two explosions occurred and the Tien Hau nearly broke in two upon reaching the sea floor.

The Tien Hau lies upright, with much damage to the superstructure. The report rules out a torpedo attack due to the nature of the explosions. The report also indicates that Captain Guan Yuliang was on the bridge at the time and ordered the crew to abandon ship just before the second explosion. Captain Yuliang, who was severely injured, remains in an Ajaccio hospital. Captain Yuliang states that he lost consciousness after the second explosion. He is expected to recover and to return to Yujin.

The Royal Navy spokesman stated that the investigation will continue when deep sea equipment from the Bartholomew Islands arrives sometime this week.

King addresses Grandelo Formum in final assembly

Syracuse

Today, the King visited the final session of Nicosia's non-voting representative body. The body, composed of elected officials from Nicosia's 3 administrative districts and a representative from the Bartholomew Islands, usually meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month and sessions can last up to a week. The current special session is assembled to review the new constitution before it is released to the public.

The King also laid out his agenda that he wishes to accomplish before the democratic elections and before the democratic government takes office. Below, Jounalio has provided a transcript of the speech.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Lords and Ladies, visitors,

Since the days of its moder establishment, Nicosia has proven to be among the most stable and strategic of nations. Even in the days of ancient Tibur, Nicosia's value in the Long Sea was clearly recognized. For centuries, Nicosia has been safeguarded by her people and the monarchy, Now, with a new constitution, a unique chapter comes to an end. However, this will lead us to a new chapter in which Nicosia remains in the center stage of the Long Sea and the world economy.

Now, we face a war that has spawned world conflicts. It is imperative that we work with the world community and realize its failures, weakness, but more importantly its strengths. Nicosia will continue to endeavor to work with the nations of the world to bring peace and security to the Long Sea and around the globe.

The sinking of the Tien Hau was an unacceptable event. We are working with Yujiner authorities to discover the facts of the horrific occurrence. As a result of the close cooperation, Nicosia has secured a maritime security package from Yujin. Nicosia is and will remain eager to work with all nations of the world to improve the global climate.

As King, I ask that you and the future government support these protocols which will mark the transition to the new chapter in Nicosia's history.

First, following the conclusion of our current conflict, I propose a modernization program for our military forces. We can accomplish this without a change in our current budget. At the end of February, I will offer a detailed plan to accomplish this. The plan will include expanded maritime and air abilities that will allow Nicosia to ensure that the Long Sea remains secure.

Second, we must diversify the Nicosian economy. War is a poison from which our nation's economy is paralyzed. I propose a plan to bring at least a dozen medium to large international corporations to Nicosia's shores. We will offer a comprehensive tax credit program that will allow these companies to call Nicosia home. These companies will not only receive tax credits but will be offered competitive employee benefits programs that will be guaranteed by the government for at least 5 years.

Third, by 2014, we predict that Nicosia will be the largest producer of green energy engineers. Our universities, partnered with our finest government agencies, will begin ambitious degree programs to create the world's finest green energy workforce. In addition to engineers, we see Nicosia to be the world's largest producer of green energy systems by 2016.

These three things are not easy; nor are they hard. They are the future. It has been my privilege and honor to serve this forum. I ask that you support me in this agenda to re-solidify Nicosia's great foundations.

Thank you"

FAO The Government of the Kingdom of Nicosia

We welcome the message of His Majesty King Alexander IV for it's conscientiousness and responsibility in seeking to work towards regional stability in the Long Sea and it's environs. The Danish government endeavours to find mutual territory on which to work with Nicosia in order to implement this objective.

We are also interested in discussions over renewable energy and we are willing to lend our expertise in this field.

Furthermore, His Majesty's Danic Government wishes to explore areas of economic regeneration and mutually beneficial trade agreements. We trust these areas may be of purchase in bilateral relations between our two nations.
