We are pleased to hear about the plans of the organisation committee of the RoccaBerlucci festival to turn this festival into an international event. Eiffellandian authors and book publishers would be interested to take part as well. We can both present Italian translations of Eiffellandian books and open possibilities to translate Justinian books into German.

Grape growers on their kneesAn already well-known disease hit with unexpected violence the vineyards of Supramonte, particularly the plants at lower altitude, while much has been saved on the hills, in fact, in the lower parts of the Supramonte hilly landskape the damage was huge, on balance 3/4 of grape production will be lost this year with heavy repercussions on the regional economy but also with slight consequences on the global economy of the republic, after the low quality of the wine produced last year this disaster only aggravates an already precarious situation.
The cause, experts say, is to attribute to the weather conditions that were surprisingly ''perfect'' for the spread of the peronospora disease also known as ''late blight''; the government has decided to collaborate with the region to lend a hand to the affected growers, and has sent a delegation of agents of the national police and various experts to find out of any possible faults by the competent bodies at local level.

Nationalism on the rise people say
Is common belief that the recent times have seen a significant rise in nationalism on Justiza and many are worried about the consequences that this kind of attitude could do in the future, the president of the republic in a speech in the capital said ''we should work to increase the distance between patriotism and nationalism in our society, the difference is huge but many don't get it''

Many Parvii want to emigrate to the island
More and more non-religious parvii have expressed the desire to leave the Parvae and find a new home in the main island but the government has taken a firm stance on the matter: until the cultural integration is completed we should not stress our societies this way, ''one step at a time'' Marghrêi said in an interview at ERJ-radio1
(more at page 6)

Economic growth slowing experts say
The economic growth of the island was already in a difficult situation in the past months but after the Supramonte grape crysis there will be a serious slowdown, no one knows for how long this will go on, but the Stall Warrantor has said to be working hard to find a way out of the stagnation.

Public Statement

18th of July, 1956
To whom it may concern

We are most saddened at the developments in the Republico of Justiza, seeing the enormous social and economic disruption this disease has caused to an island famed, among lots of other things, for its unique and fine wine. If it would help in any way, our Empire would be willing to dispatch scientists and specialists to aid Justiza in dealing with this crisis and curing this disease, this being the least we could do for such a trusted and valued ally and friend. We wish the people of Justiza, especially grape growers and vineyard owners, good fortune and hope that this crisis will pass soon, with next year's harvest being the best in a decade.

Foreign ministry
Furzillo, Justiza

"The disease is already known but only prevention is possible, anyway there is a project just born for a grand laboratory that will study new and more effective ways to protect the agricultural sector in which Justiza and Eiffelland will cooperate; if your government could pay a small percentage for the creation of the building and the needed scientific material we could certainly welcome your scientists in the facility, this would be a great opportunity to give a job to many researchers and start an interesting international cooperation.''

RoccaBerlucci book festival ends
The famous cumbrian writer Yannick Le Guen wins the Fulgere prize in the 27th edition of the RoccaBerlucci book festival with his creation "The dawn of life" defeating, with a slight majority of the judges, ''The sky above Trier'' of the eiffellandian Lothar Lenz; this was the first time in the festival's history to consider overseas authors and looking at the mountain of people that crowded the old city of RoccaBerlucci and the Berlucci castle this won't be the last. The municipality council already expressed the wish to make this change permanent with the blessing of the city's mayor that has he said in an interview ''I have never seen so much tourists in the city''.
The qualified nations other than justiza in the final competition where six in a total of ten books competing for the Fulgere.
The most voted justinian book has been Guidalberto Parasso's ''Amor ad omni costi'', while this time Alfredo Mia suffered a bitter defeat receiving very little support.

Cheese exports on the riseRecent data just released found an increase in dairy exports to friendly nations surprisingly, it has already aroused the interest of the government that started some monitoring procedures to find out how to best foster this growth.
Despite the growing industrial sector and the expanding large cities many young people
are still turning to agriculture for their future, often seen as an easier and more rewarding objective, more in touch with the homeland and in a way a more patriotic activity, but this maintains low levels of growth in alternative sectors, Justiza still hasn't any companies dealing with technologies like televisions, radios, the modern calculators and military components like radars and such, which forces us to spend great sums to import those things from overseas; the past governments haven't been able to change this, we can only hope that Marghêri will succeed.

Grand naval review organised for this saturday
After the official completion of the new justinian fleet the Gonfaloniera Marghêri and the minister of defence Piergiorgio Botta announced a grand naval parade to take place along the Golziliacco coastline, an aerial exhibition of the veniasufian fighters bought by the government will end the celebrations.
Many ministers, government and military officials will review the fleet on the oldest justinian wooden ship survived to this day, the ''Albius'' galleon.
Everybody can watch the event but for security reasons having an ID card will be necessary to enter the city during the parade, from tomorrow until sunday the access to the Golziliacco bay will be denied and the regular transport routes will be temporary divided between the cities of Solinda and Comêlia; a compensation will be granted to all Golziliacco fishermen interested, the town hall and the post offices will be at disposal of the citizens to collect the money.

Justinian LGBT ask government to take actionThe brutal treatment of the LGBT community by the regional government of the island of Helgoland, nominally part of the kingdom of Eiffelland, has reached the justinian public opinion that is now, through the civil rights organizations, asking the government to get to work and find a way to help the local population.
The news reached the ears of the people of Justiza thanks to the eiffellandian newspaper "Weissenfelser Rundschau" which denounced the abuses suffered by the local community inside the prisons; the minister of internal affairs Ferdinando Bellezôi, already engaged in the same battle on the Parvae front, has acted as intermediary between the associations and the senate, promising the nation's commitment to resolve this "unacceptable and inhumane" situation.

A rich elderly from Mezzanìa committed an error when writing down a bank check to pay some arrears but put the comma in the wrong place thus paying an enormous amount of money to the region, the regional council decided to keep the money to fix the local road network, but the unlucky old man won't need to pay taxes presumably for the rest of his life.

Roselli's revelations
|In the night of the 30 October 1956 a group of justinian nobles met at night in the town of Solinda, in a small and secluded villa close to the sea, nothing transpired about the event, and nothing but the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks was perceived from the outside, where someone approached, intrigued by the number of luxury cars that directed there.
yesterday afternoon the silence was broken in an interview broadcast by ERJ-radio 1, Sir. Gianbalbo Roselli announced the birth of ''Velâr'' a new party that brings together the nobles not happy with the transformation of ReM in VaJ and thus the abandonment of monarchist goals in favour of gathering support from the more moderate citizens.
As suggested by the name (Velâr means sailing but also ''doing something'' or ''going ahead'') will not be a mere protest party favoured by the crowned heads of the island as ReM was but wants to rally the citizens who feel represented by the right-wing, which "want to give a stronger political order to the islands" and it will act and fight for achieving these objectives and to "make the world and to future justinian generations know our dormant power"; In his final passage Sir. Roselli said ''our tiny country has already demonstrated the ability to stand up to the greatest of titans with its will alone, well it is time that this will takes us to a real greatness and does not merely make us survive, our homeland is the whole sea".
The noble's words have provoked much discussion and presumably will keep the debate up, perhaps this new political force will hurt the balance achieved and maintained first by the so called "senato salato" (senate with common sense) and then by the Marghêri government.

(more at page 2)

About LGBT protectionThe Senate accepted minister Bellezôi's request to open a debate over the situation for LGBTs on Helgoland after receiving no official answer from the ministers council.
Meanwhile tensions rise on the Parvae as a bishop was sued by the central government itself after a public hate speech, and some intimidatory searches on the edge of legality were carried out by the S.I.R.E., triggering a small protest in front of the regional palace.
The Marghêri government made it clear that no effort will be spared to protect from physical and psychological damage every law-abiding LGBT citizen of the Parvae islands.

Naval review completed successfully
The much awaited naval review ended with no hitches, all the citizens of Golziliacco and the tourists were amazed by the event, and the cities of Solinda and Cornêlia might have some benefits from the temporary flow of trade passed trough them.

Fedele river cities are growing
The league of cities near the Fedele river are thriving after becoming the main port of call in the Parvae-Justiza rout, and the local administration in Sergnano is now considering to obtain the status already used by Supramonte and become a region independent from the Corno administration.

The expansion of Furzillo on the western side of the Raso river is proceeding as planned, but the construction of an important parking lot is lacking behind as the construction company is being investigated over a corruption charge.

The bear wakes up and is in good company
/After a period of stability in the sea of Kalahari, hard-won by the joint efforts of the nations of the LongSea opposed to the unbearable threats of the vile and immoral nation of Kadikistan, a new disquieting spark can be seen on the horizon; the strengthening of some fleets, the modernization undergone by the Pelasgian navy and the completion of the new and long-awaited justinian fleet woke the self-proclaimed Socialist World Republic that threatened, claiming the right to stand up as champion of the world balance, to invade the just calmed down waters with the intent of countering his political enemies.
The government has spent many words to bring some reason to the pseudo-socialist gargantuan empire but the damage had been done, the Kadiki bear was awakened from its lethargy and resumed its propaganda of lies and threats with the sole purpose of expanding its influence on the whole Kalahari sea and invading our proud nation, and the two red giants in an escalation of madness and aggressiveness refused all kind attempt to diplomatic resolution tried by our government and Pelasgia by fueling each other like two babies crying together.
Even if the Senate calls for calm and temperance, fear lingers in the air that this time the situation will not be resolved peacefully, and some already speak of the danger of triggering a war that would surely involve the majority of the global powers, a real ''World War'' from which nothing good could be born but ashes and tears to both sides.
The nerves are tense and the hands are already firm on the hilts, we can only hope that no incident will unsheathe the swords.
(more at page 2)

A new homeThe regions of the republic are gathering volunteers and ships, and coordinating the preparation of the necessary resources to begin the creation of a small town in the territory given us on the Lauenburgian shores in exchange of their military base built in Justiza time ago.
It will be a difficult adventure starting from scratch in a distant land but will certainly mean great future advantages to entrepreneurs and traders who decide to make this effort, the president of the republic announced yesterday his intention to leave with the convoy of modern settlers to represent the close vicinity of the republic with them in this important event which will be remembered for many years to come.

Senate discusses over Helgoland
The Senate discussed yesterday night about the situation in Helgoland and how to help the LGBTs on the island without betraying the nation's policy of not interfering with other nations political stances to avoid hypocrisy, but still hasn't found a substantial solution, meanwhile the government expressed the intention of opening a communication with the eiffellandian authorities about the matter.

Velâr leaders in Caminetto
The leaders of the newborn Velâr party announced a public conference in the central square of Caminetto to present to the citizens their ideas and answer any questions, probably the decision of making this conference in Caminetto was made to try and take power in the close municipal elections and so have their first foothold in the national political system.

Sergnano tu become a region?
The minicipal administration in Sergnano brought to the attention of the Senate the intention of the area to become an independent municipality-region, the Senate will have a discussion over the matter in the next days.

Expanding Furzillo
The situation of the construction company investigated over a possible case of corruption seem to be worsening as new details are being discovered, the western main car park of the city will have to wait for its competition for an undefined time now.

Parvae base of key importance
The parvae military base and dockyard is, after recent events, of even more importance and their competition will thus be accelerated; some soldiers have been seen arriving on the island and joining the workers to help.

The words that reach the world from Furzillo these days deeply trouble us and we feel the belligerent rhetoric of the Justizan government speaks for itself. After expressing our deep worries about the military expansionism of Justiza and her allies, with emphasis on Pelasgia which has repeatedly adopted a threatening and aggressive language towards the World Republic, and after in no unclear terms stating our desire for a peaceful and diplomatic solution that eases the tensions in the Kalahari caused by the one-sided build-up of forces, the Justizan government has decided to forego all attempts of diplomacy and feign a wounded deer, trying to paint itself as the victim of foreign aggression.

Let it be known that there is no single ship of the Navy of the Republic currently operating in the Kalahari, nor has the World Republic expressed any desire to add fuel to the tensions caused by the Justizan, Pelasgian and Lauenburger attempts to assume control over the Kalahari. But it is the rhetoric and ambitions expressed by the Justizan and Pelasgian governments, that make us wonder whether prudence dictates us to do so in the future, if only to contain any attempt to abuse Justizas natural strategic location to obtain dominion over the seas surrounding it.

Justiza has not felt it necessary to adress any of the points raised by us as much as by other European powers. She has not felt the need to explain itself to the world when she assumed ownership of international waters between the Justizan main island and the Parvae Islands. She has not felt the need to adopt a rhetoric of deescalation and diplomatic tact, instead deciding to fan the flames of regional conflict. She has not felt the need to show any sign of goodwill or peaceful intent to the growing number of diverse nations who have expressed worries about the course of action of her and her allies. And she is speaking threats of war, where others speak peace and deescalation.

We strongly urge the Justizan goverment to reconsider its stance, lest the consequences of its actions catch up with us all.

The ''mar sanguigno''
|Tensions continue to rise in our sea following the provocative decision taken by Kadikistan to escort its merchant ships with military ships through the Parvae passageway, the government has again urged people to calm and it seems that the act for now is limited to a show of strength without real consequences.
But it is not only the old rival to challenge the republic, is even more worrying the fervency for warfare of the SWR which clearly declared its intents to expand its borders on every free nation, the decision taken by the ally Propontis and consequently by our government to participate in the conference called by communist nation seemed to have dampened the tensions, and we really thought about a new-found peace, but news comes to the ''LaJustaNovella" newspaper that last night the Senate issued a statement directed to the regions which asked to organize the collection of food supplies and to exercise the population for a war scenario.
We don't know the reasons for this decision but it is reasonable to think that the hypothesis of a conflict is being inexorably becoming reality, in the southern beaches the coastal fortifications have been reactivated, army patrols the streets of the Parvae archipelago, military ships patrol in large numbers national waters, military transports are seen daily moving in the streets and the air force is making exercises over the great "Delli-tre-flumi" gulf.

Lauenburgian coffee beansThe sadly unreliable nation of Lauenburg has abandoned its commitment to yield to the republic the promised piece of land in the north, news that caused quite a stir in the justinian population, but a new agreement made in extremis between the two Ministers of Foreign Affairs has saved the alliance and given great economic benefits to both nations, new coffee plantations will be created in the far east of the nearby colony of Lauenburg that will create countless well-paid jobs to the local population, economically poorer than the richer west.
The closeness and the higher cooperation between governments will ensure an influx of cheaper coffee beans to the island that will certainly boost our exports in this period of crisis.
During the meeting, the ministers agreed over the creation of a free port on the coast of the colony where the Justiza-Lauenburg trades will be free of any charge.

The Democratic Republic, in full respect of the national sovereignty of other nations and in conscious awareness of the security needs of the states in the Kalahari, urges against a remilitarization of the dispute over the status of the Kalahari. The Republic especially cautions against overt steps to mobilize armed forces that could be construed to be in a spirit contrary to the expressed intention to seek accommodation and understanding by attending the Kalahari Conference, as they could easily be felt to endanger the premises upon which the conference will be attended and working against the goal it seeks to safeguard - peace.
