The AG2-1000 "Cloudcutter" is SkyTrain's latest iteration of the popular long-haul aircraft in the AG2 Family.[/div][SOLIS] – Amid less than positive news for global airlines of late, SkyTrain stunned markets by announcing a substantial order from Serenierre and Natalia that together could propel the company to success for the next several years.
The Aurarian plane maker announced that they secured an order of slightly over 300 planes over a period of several years from Central Himyari Airways, which is the premier airline in Himyar. The order focuses on advancing the company’s AG1 and AG2 families of aircraft. The AG-1 is primarily focused on short to medium range flights whereas the AG-2 is built to accommodate long-range, intercontinental flights. The deal includes a significant purchase of AG2-1000 “Cloudcutter” – the newest plane in the company’s line that can reach a range of 15km and fit 366 passengers.
This deal would position SkyTrain to be the largest supplier of aircraft to CHA and, in turn, CHA to be the biggest client to SkyTrain. While no specific amount of money was mentioned in the release and SkyTrain did not answer direct questions – one can take the unit price of the aircrafts purchased and estimate that the deal could have been valued at more than 20 billion euromarks, though it is likely that CHA was given significant discounts considering the bulk order.
While this deal alone was significant enough to boost the company’s stock value, the announcement of the Serenien further caused excitement amongst investors. While already a valued customer of SkyTrain planes, Serenien Airlines agreed to purchase new planes to replace the aging AG1-300 class planes. However, the size of the deal did not compare to CHA’s. Instead, the main focus of the announcement was that SkyTrain would open a second manufacturing plant in Serenierre to help streamline production of its aircraft to meet a higher demand. The plant is estimated to bring in thousands of temporary construction jobs as well as thousands of permanent, high-paying jobs. The plant will be located outside the Serenien industrial hub of Monserans.
However, it was not all good news as the announcement seems to have prompted Culebria Airlines to pull the trigger on suing the Republic Aviation Commission for damages after the Commission announced a grounding and temporary suspension of all purchases of the RRF Flugzeugwerke’s Ibis – of which Culebria Airlines made a significant purchase.
“Our airline alleges that the decision made by the RAC was in response to our decision to purchase the Ibis over SkyTrain models,” the airline’s CEO stated “And we believe that the RAC must compensate Culebria Airlines for the damages caused to our company’s ability to continue to be the Republic’s premier airline.”
While being awarded a significant amount of money by the Engellexic Parliament in a settlement over the country’s abrupt closure of its airspace, Culebria has struggled to recover and keep things moving as normal.
At any rate, the Republic will certainly be proud to see more Aurarian-made AG2-1000’s taking to the skies.
