:!: GEN. DELANCY TO COMMAND MONTELIMAR CONTINGENT IN LORRAINE
Air Force General Charles Delancy has been selected to command Montelimar's air and attached ground forces deployed to Lorraine. Though Gen.Delancy will command all Montelimarian forces, he will be subordinate to Eiffelland's Gen. Karlheinz Modersohn, the Commander-in-Cheif of EDF Forces in Lorraine.

Though trouble in brewing in southern Lorraine, the government of Montelimar cannot help but notice with developments in the Southern Implarian Ocean. :!: SOLREN ATTACKS LORRAINE
Solaren artillery and rockets, most with chemical warheads, fell on military positions though some report that some may have also hit civilian communities in southern Lorraine. The chemical, identified as 3-Quinuclidinyl benzilate, an odorless military incapacitating agent. Though the military is trained and equiped to deal with such attacks so exposure is expected to be limited, it may cause some disruption in units if personnel are effected.

:!: URBAN DECLARES WAR ON EDF
Shortly after the Solaren military began bombardment of Lorrainian targets, Urban IV, the dictator of Solaren and so-called spiritual leader of the Solaren Church, in a televized speech, declared war against the European Defence Federation. Though ignoring the many atrocities committed by his regime, Urban spoke for several hours blaming his actions on the EDF, even going as far as accusing the alliance of using 'witchcraft and sorcery'.

:!: MONTELIMAR DECLARES WAR ON SOLAREN
Armand I, King of Montelimar, submitted to Parliament a declaration of war against the state of Solaren. Only asking Parliament to pass the declaration after listing the past and present crimes of the Urban regime, and considering that Urban has already declared war on Montelimar, the King received the needed ratification on the first vote called.

:!: RADILO PRESIDENT ACTIVATES DOMINION CLAUSE; KING OBLIGATED TO INTERVENE
Radilo's President Jean Auguste, announced on live television that he has activate the Dominion Clause of the Radilian Constitution, a clause which, due to Radilo's former status, obligates the King of Montelimar to reinstate dominion rule in Radilo. Though it is unclear if such a clause is binding to the crown, if it is, Montelimar may now have to respond to troubles far from home in addition the war with Solaren.

ENGELLEX MILITARY BUILD-UP, IS IT A THREAT TO MONTELIMAR?​

Though all of Montelimar hopes they are, many in Valmy has cause to doubt the motives behind Engellex's mobilization and its marked increase of troops along its border with Montelimar are peaceful ones. The known animosity Dulwich has towards the EDF and its symathies for Solaren has the defence establishment as well as the foreign services looking at Engellex's militarization of its border with Montelimar with a wary eye as the increase of troop strength is unwarrented as there has been no increase of Montelimar forces along the same border to justify such a build-up.

Though sources in the Foreign Ministry have indicated that it has notified Dulwich that it is aware of the troop increase and has urged the Engellex government to "reverse the trend", it is the likelihood that if the urgings are ignored, a similar trend will be adopted on Montelimar's side of the border. Though such a marked increase in troops on Engellex's border would mean fewer troops would be able to be sent to Lorraine if needed or to the troubles in Radilo, the mobilization has made the move to the border only a matter of ordering it as Montelimar has not yet committed any ground forces to the Solaren War and only a fraction of its air force and navy has been deployed to the theater of operations.

In light of the crisis in Radilo, King Armand has appointed Jas Louis Moët Hennessy, marquis de Hennessy, Viceroy of Radilo and placing Radilo under a state of emergency. Hennessy, as viceroy will be responsible reestablishing order in Radilo.

1500 MONTELIMARIANS DEAD, PARLIAMENT VOTES FOR WAR ON ENGELLEX​

Technically a state of war has existed since the first Engellex missiles struck targets inside Montelimar in the early hours of Aug. 6th, and though Engellex did not issue a declaration of war until Aug. 10th, four days after the attack, it has not been until today that Parliament, which had been moved to a secure area away from the capital, could vote on a war resolution, which passed with a just a single dissenting vote.

As the attack was unprovoked and unwarrented, and looking back the government of Engellex never had any other intention other than attacking Montelimar, for such a dastardly attack brought all but one member of Parliament to vote for the war resolution, there is one question on the lips of those same MPs, a question directed at the government in Valmy, why was there not more done to defend the Kingdom from attack, especially in the face of the Engellex mobilization? Though Prime Minister Mezinac said it was not in his government's policy to aggrivate the situation by turning the border into a militarized zone, he admits in hindsight that it is now obvious that it was always the intention of the Engellex government to attack Montelimar, contrary to their public statements."

Valmy has contacted its allies, and though it has not released whether or not the government has activated the war clause, and though Montelimar was already mobilizing for a war in Solaren, the King has ordered all categories activated and it is rumored even the strategic forces have also been fully activated.

The Right Honourable The Secretary of State has received the Command of Her Engellexic Majesty The Queen to make known the following gracious Statement of her Engellexic Majesty to the King, and Lordships of the Kingdom of Franken.​

Extension of The Queen's Statement in Council.

TO THE KING, AND LORDSHIPS OF THE KINGDOM OF FRANKEN

I am instructed to EXPRESS on behalf of her Engellexic Majesty;

That our opinion on the importance of the European Defence Federation’s inability to acknowledge the concerns of the continental Powers and European cannot be expressed more strongly; this is precisely why her Engellexic Majesty has moved to limit the military projection capability of the Federation in Preuti-Borussia.

Wherever the influence of the European Defence Federation prevailed the nation under its sway was enslaved and unprosperous, and although her Majesty the Queen and the her ministers would not consider an intervention with any movement of a purely security character, except when it concerned the jurisdiction of the Crown, we consider the Federation’s conduct in Preuti-Borussia and the Implaric-Oceanic Territory an aggression which must be met with the resolve of the Great Engellexic Armed Forces; because, due to the arrogance of the Federation’s members, all diplomatic avenues pursued by Dulwich had been quite rudely snubbed.

The sole object of the effort in which the Federation has mobilized against the Kingdom of Solaren, and the mass deployment of naval forces in the Implaria-Oceania, was to satisfy the expansionist ambition of the insufferable Courts of the Federation. We consider that the assumption that the Federation may openly police the continent, which Great Engellex and her allies and partners are part of, which the exclusive right to do so belongs to not one nation by the states of Preuti-Borussia themselves, is a clean violation of the prerogative of the regional Powers; which Great Engellex is one. The Federation had no more right to adopt a policy of open warfare on this continent than to do so in the Far East.

It is difficult that the complaint of the conduct of her Engellexic Majesty that this measure was an attack on imperial and aggressive motivations should come from the advocates of religious intolerance and persecution and those who will continue in the face of European condemnation to enslave the peoples of the Implaric-Oceanic Territory; but it will be proclaimed and recognised around Europe that our resistance to the Aggression of the European Defence Federation was the best proof of a regard for sovereignty in question.​

It is clear that, considering the Kingdom of Montelimar made no military moves against Engellex, its colonies or its allies, and in fact, the government in Valmy made no attempts to militarization the common border and even urged the Engellexic government to forgo such policy, the Kingdom of Montelimar posed no threat to the Union of Great Engellex. In retrospect, the government that has been exhibiting an agressive and militaristic policy is the government of Engellex itself, as it was naive for the government of Montelimar to hope that such policy was one of mere posturing, the insuing attack made by the armed forces of Engellex on targets with Montelimar in the eary morning hours of August 6th is proof positive that war was the only desired outcome of the government in Dulwich.

Though the Engellexic government has blamed the European Defence Federation for its decision to launch its unprovoked war against the Kingdom of Montelimar, history will record that it was the Imperial ambitions of the Engellexic government that was the true motivation behind the attack and that it was not the EDF that posed any threat to the Gallo-Germanic continent but instead the alliance was veiwed as an obsticle to the realization of that Engellexic Imperial dream.

In the light of the obvious aggression of the Union of Great Engellex, it is the promises of His Most Catholic Highness, Grand Duke Jean III, that the Grand Duchy of Aquitania will honor its present alliance obligations, its centuries old sense of duty and more importantly, its moral responsibility to come to the aid of the Kingdom of Montelimar.

We also want to point out that Queen Charlotte specifically sent invitations to the Royal Houses of the EDF-countries to attend a party in Dulwich, apparently while preparing for war against an important EDF-country. That party was scheduled to take place, no, took place, while Engellex was attacking an important EDF-country. So it was Queen Charlotte's purpose to let the Royal House of Montelimar party in Engellex while Montelimar was under attack of Engellex. Or was it the Queen's purpose to first let the party and then the war start? To walk to King Philippe with a glass of champaign in her hand while being a bit tipsy, start a courtesy conversation and then say out of the blue "oh, by the way, I just ordered my air force to attack your country"?
Crown-Prince Friedrich of Eiffelland was invited as well, but he stayed in Eiffelland. Why? Because currently Eiffelland is at war, and the Royal House of Eiffelland considers it a slap in the face of the Eiffellandian soldiers fighting that war if members of the Royal Family of Eiffelland so prominently celebrate a party. The fact that such considerations are absent in the Royal House of Engellex is not only a sign of bad taste but also a sign that Queen Charlotte does not care for her people.

We stand by our ally in this matter. Engellexic assets in Eiffelland will be frozen. The Eiffellandian ambassador in Engellex will be summoned to Trier for consultations. We strongly advice the Engellexic authorities to remain civil to Eiffellandians currently staying in Engellex. Keep in mind that the war in Solaren will not last forever.

As Montelimar did not hesitate to come to the aid of Lorraine when threatened with attack by the dark forces Urban IV, Lorraine will not hesitate to come to the aid of her oldest and staunchest ally when the dark forces of Engellex has crept out of the night and brought death destruction on a people that posed no threat to them. We in Metz do not see this as a seperate war, one waged by Urban and another by Charlotte of Dulwich, but instead the later is an extention of the former, one started by a madman, who's hands were still wet with the blood of those he murdered, and now expanded by one who sees wholesale slaughter as just a way to make a point. Future historians will debate on which one is the bigger monster.

DEATHTOLL RISES AS ENGELLEX CONTINUES IT ONSLAUGHT​

Though it has not been all bad news, as the Montelimarian air force has been able to piece together a defence the air war over Montelimar has intensified. While cities such as Lille, Claimont, Nimes, Limoges and Mormant have come under both air and rocket attacks, Valmy itself was attacked a wicked air assault, though detected and a massive defence of the city was mounted, bombs from enemy aircraft still fell on the city, causing both military and civilian casualties. All in all, as long as the war is fought over Montelimar, the deathtoll, both military and civilian will continue to rise.
