Major damage due to floodings

57 are reported dead after floodings occured in the northern part of the country. Some dykes collapsed, mainly in rural areas, causing damage to agricultural infrastructure. The village of St.-Ignace-sur-Soile has counted most casualties, 24 to be precise. The place was hit by a unexpected flooding in the middle of the night, and many were surprised by the rising waters. An aid program is in progress, but it is difficult to reach the afffected people. The roads and railways have suffered enourmously of the last events.

The new woe that hit the Papal States is counted as the sixth one this year. The first one was the dry summer, the second one the loss of the harvest, the third one the financial problems, the fourth one the vanishing of fish out of the St.-Philippin Sea, the fifth one the major rainfall destroying the fields and now the floodings. People are comparing this wit the plagues of Egypt and await a seventh and last one, not to compare with those before. Is there a divine message to the people of the Papal States? Some priests noticed a remarkable amount of people in all services, rising every day.

Relations with Belmont back on track?

The presient of the Congregation for Exteral Affairs has said 'to be shocked' about the act of terrorism in Belmont. To make clear the Papal States fully condemns this kind of actions, the ambassador will be sent back to Paris with a personal message of the pope. Stephanus IV sends in this letter his strict condemnation of what happend. In a secon letter he clearifies what bothered Dominici in Belmontien politics. Firstly, the swapping attidude towards the other nations in te area; secondly the change in politics towards Sarmatia. It is against Catholic interests to support the regimes that are oppressing the Church.

Hospitals in south report increase of patients

In the region of the town La Huguette hospitals notice a growing numbr of people with symptoms of chills, fever, sore throat, muscle pains, severe headache, coughing, and common weakness. Yet it is not flu, doctors say flu medication seems to help slow down the disease. Patients recover after four days.

Also we want to send construction battalions, with the same aim as our allies from Aquitania.

Dominici gladly accepts aid

The Secretary said the Papal States are "moved" by the aid presented to Dominici to overcome the recent developments of this "anno terribilis". Amongst the aid are engeneers from Aquitania and Eiffelland and donations from the Catholic Church in Belmont. Montelimar and other nations have been informed the population needs food. Dominici airport has suspended most passenge flights, aid gets absolute priority now. The Bank has stretched its limits by bying tons and tons of storable food.

Stephanus IV has asked the Catholics in the world to come to aid ad to make a special Christmas donation. The local bishops are free to command an urgent "collecta" in all services next sunday.

In the mean while, the increase of patients with flu symptoms continues in the south. A few cases are reported more northly and one onthe isle of St.-Perpetua. Doctors on the south reported the first patients who were noticed with the desease, went into a coma. It looks like the fever slowly dissapears after the coma occured.

News of 22:00: state of emergence declared

Lots of people are reported ill. Hospitals in the south are full. The flu-like desease, now named Brinac-desease after the town where it first occured, has spread enourmously this weekend.
1. Schools are closed starting tomorow untill further notice. People are advised to stay at home when possible. Gatherings are forbidden. All events are suspended.
2. Travelling from south to north is not possible. A blockage of roads and railways by the police must prevent people from going to the north, in an attempt to stop the spreading of the desease.
3. Upto now, no casualties are reported, but a great disruption of the public and economic life lies ahead.
4. All public places suitable to recieve patients, must be prepared for this purpose.
5. The borders with Eiffelland are closed.

Press Release:

"The people of the Papal States are being punished for their flamboyancy and chicken nuggetry!" announced Sinese Bishop Seri Chaibancha today during a conference where he broke ranks with the new Catholic Pope, joining a row against the Papacy. "Sin is sin, we cannot reinterpret what is clearly written in the Bible! God has delivered his wrath on homosexuals, and the queer world will tremble in fear!"

Catholicism in Sinhai has been besieged by mounting local criticism ever since the Pope supported acceptance of homosexuality, with dozens of Catholic households in Sinhai separating themselves from the Catholic church. Bishop Seri Chaibancha has moved to represent this ostracized Catholic minority, siding with mainstream conservative views that hold homosexuality as the cause of AIDS and condemned within the Bible.

"Our hearts and prayers go out to our brothers and sisters in the Papal States, may they be saved from their lives of sin and return into the loving grace of our Lord. Homosexuality is a crime against God, it is Satan's temptation; God said 'be fruitful', not 'be fruity'. We hope that our Catholic brothers can remember that, and that our good Father can return to his senses and I pray that the Lord can strengthen his resolve against this terrible evil."

Institute for Disease and Epidemic Control

This agency has been charged by the Government of Belmont to inspect the health of all those who have visited in the territory of the Papal States for the past month and a half.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Government of Belmont expresses great sympathy with those who have suffered from Brinac disease.

The Kingdom of Belmont, for the time being, imposes a travel advisory for its citizens for the Papal States. If the situation continues to worsen, a travel ban shall be put.

Seat of the Archbishop of Paris

The spread of Brinac disease is just the physical sign of a divine punishment. The stance taken on homosexuality by HH Pope Stéphane IV is in breach of the Bible's verses.

Papal States and CoN

The relation between the Papal States and the Council of Nations has been a difficult one. "It seems like the CoN is to much a forum for the big nations, with their playing ground being the Security Council".
The vetoing of the admittance of the Judean Republic has been the last move which has impressed Dominici in a bad way.
"It is clear the system needs to be revised, otherwise this world will be devided between the happy few and the ones who can't come and play", says the Secretary. "If the Council wants to be respected, it must deal with all nations".
The Papal States advises the Security Council to reconsider the veto posed upon the Judean Republic.

The position of Dominici has been noted by Nokanawa. We share Dominici's impression that the Security Council's decision will have to be reconsidered in the future.

Official statement of Stephanus VI on the war in Gallia

In these hours, preparing for Christmass and awaiting the Eternal Light, we face on this earth disaster itself. War has come once again upon us. When will mankind ever learn? When will this world truely be ready to receive the King; He who is above all kings, emperors and presidents; all kneel for this little child that saves us all.

This world crucifies Him yet again, an His cross is loaded with our sins. No war can be justified, no war can be started in His name. Blasfemy is in the mouth of those who think otherwise.

Spread the gospel using the sword of faith. Those who reject it will face the Lord, and His right side will stay hidden from them. It is their choice.

The papacy has the task to guide the flock to the Lord. The only way to Him is faith and grace. Grace is within Our Church. No war can create grace. Therefor, We condemn all those who call this holy war. This is a war of politics, of greed and power, of mistrust and conspiracy. This is a war against the foundations of Catholicism and Christianity. We call upon all Catholics and Christian brothers in the faith to do wathever is in their possibilities to stop this war.

Our position is not against the nation of Belmont. We share our faith, history and culture with Belmont. We remember the Royals as a noble family. We pray that they may be enlighted to follow the path of justice.

We call upon the world not to jude the people of Belmont. They are mislead by their politicans. May they be spared in these difficult days.

Stephanus IV
Bishop of Dominici
Pope of the Only and Holy Catholic Church
Head of the Papal States
