Just do a basic paint map, and when you have time try out some skills and styling with one of those free programs to be found on the internet.

My probably final version of my nation map, unless I can come up with better names for some of the cities/provinces/add more settlements in the future.

A draft of the terrain of Gallia. A better looking map will emerge in the coming days. If anyone's interested, please do respond to this post and tell me what your terrain is like, such that I might add you to this map! Otherwise, I'll only be including the NPC nations--I'd rather not take liberties with other people's stuff.

That is excellent stuff. Here is obviously a map I had made 'http://imageshack.com/a/img855/6917/0gew.png' which includes rivers, but Engellex was RPed with having geographic features similar to England in most places, with northern and western Lisse somewhat influenced by that - but the majority of Bernisse I've thought of being pretty much flat-lowlands.

Though, if you have a better, realistic idea for the geography of Engellex and Lisse by all means go ahead, I wouldn't be opposed to having my geography determined by another.

Is there a blank map of the world with all the slots but no nation names?

I don't believe there is, though it isn't difficult to trace from the forum map, if it is a national map that you're looking to doing.

I am but it's very time consuming to cover every single line with paint the way Cantignia has covered countries on the map.

Here is the map of Yujin with the faction territories superimposed over it. Areas uncolored are low in population density or have severely limited access to roads. Seora is not designated as a faction on this map.
Yellow = Empire of Yujin
Red = Hongmenghui
Blue = Southland
Purple = Republicans

Many cities are unnamed currently; names will be added as they are introduced via RP or as I go back through RSR and pick up names again. The colors will move as campaigns progress. Solid boundaries between factions typically mark rivers or entrenched fronts, while mingled regions typically represent active insurgencies or heavily contested territory.

Beishan : Your map is simply amazing. I love how you did the terrain. Care to tell how you performed such magic?

Sikandara I followed a Photoshop map tutorial off of a pdf that I've always saved up in case I ever need to make a geographical map. I'm actually not as fond of the map because everything looks more blurry and fuzzy than I would like it to be and some of the geography isn't as well defined but oh well.

I may just make a plain map for provinces and separate the geography on another, it kinda looks like a mess with the two combined. Much like how I never liked playing geography layer in CK2/EU4.

Yep, totally from Cartographer's Guild. Its Saderan.

That site is fucking rad. I never really looked at the other tutorials all that much because Saderan typically works well for me. Though I should look into some more historical-looking tutorials, whenever I do Saderan I run into the mentioned geography problems and its totally no good if I just wanted a plain political map.

I'm really thinking I should get Photoshop again. Looking at these maps, I must admit I am getting jealous. :p

don't be fooled, GIMP blows when compared to PhotoShop... Luckily adobe suite works like a monthly prescription now I think, in case you're only wanting it for a short quick map. That aside you can do something like the map for me or Germania or Jurzan with something free like GIMP.

GIMP's UI totally blows. I don't even need to use it to know, everyone just says it. Its great if you want a free alternative but nobody in the professional world would think about using it unless they honestly cannot afford proper software. Adobe/Photoshop has a monopoly on that.

Course these are just regular maps we make, so it really doesn't matter. You could do it in MSpaint if you're up for it. :lol:

Understanding subtext is one of my less stellar skills. English comprehension is already lacking when I try reading official government posts from countries like Ivernia (seriously his posts makes me feel like English isn't my native language).
