The investiture of the 15th king of all Saaremaa

The kingdom of Saaremaa celebrates today the investiture of king Alvar the sixth, the son of the queen dowager Eha. In the old St. Isidore Cathedral, the place where the Saaremaan kings and queens were crowned since 1760, King Alvar swore that he will defend the Saaremaan people and democracy. At the event participated nobles from all Saaremaa, to the Queen Dowager and her brother, to the dukes from the frozen north of Ahja, Vendra and Imavere. A huge crowd also waited the emergence of the new king from the cathedral and the parade of the White Guards. It is believed that around a two hundred thousand people were eye witnesses to the king's first speech and the subsequent parade.

The tabloids also immediately observed the absence of Grand Prince Mihkel, the older brother of King Alvar and the first born of Queen Dowager Eha. There was still no comment from the ruling house Saare on this matter, but many opinions still appeared, from the prince living to his standard of prodigal son, to others saying that he is mad that he lost the crown to his younger brother.

Constitutionally, the Kingdom of Saaremaa follows the old laws of seniority succession. But the succesion of Queen Eha proved to be a problematic one, as from the oldest member of the dynasty after the queen, namely her brother, to the throne rose her youngest son. The Saare family again didn't comment on this subject and this again spawned many rumors. Some saying that Grand Prince Ott Andrus refused the throne, while the National Salvation League accused Queen Eha of being totalitarian and choosing her youngest son because she could manipulate him. Some has called this scandal a succession crisis, but the royal family said clearly that everything is under control.

"It is in our duty to defend the interests and the people of Saaremaa. There was no destabilizing factor in the succession, as there is no article in the constitution that obliges someone to accept the throne. I can understand that my brother and his son didn't accept it, as Scania is destabilized because of the war in Bantyr and the succession crisis in Ostweg. We understand that it is an important and tough duty and maybe they weren't prepared for it". Commented the Queen Dowager Eha.

"Citizens of Saaremaa, I thank you for giving me this honor of bearing this title. Saaremaa is now at a crossroads. The northern continent has changed it's face very much. A new generation of kings has appeared in Ostweg and Boganhem. Elections are now being prepared in Boganhem and soon in Saaremaa. In a world of a continuous change, we have entered a new era, one of faith in us, as a people and one of prosperity, God help us." A part of the king's speech.

His Majesty starts tour in Ivernia

As it is a tradition for every newly crowned monarch to do, his Majesty Alvar VI has started his tour of the nations who have a warm relationship with the Kingdom of the North. The first king who opened Saaremaa and ended the isolation period following the unification was the first king who used the name Alvar, who ruled Saaremaa at the beginning of the 18th century. Since then, all the newly crowned kings and queens of Saaremaa firstly visited Ivernia, a nation that was always a friend with the kingdom.

The king will leave Kuressaare by plane tomorrow and will meet High King Felix of house Ui Neill at Alderburgh and he will also meet his fiance for the last time before the marriage which is set to take place in a few weeks, Princess Áineof house Bunanza. The king is confident that the visit will once more reaffirm the warm relations between Saaremaa and Ivernia, while the marriage will bring the two peoples closer and create a bond of friendship and even brotherhood between the two Kingdoms.

On the tour Danmark follows Ivernia, where again, the King will reaffirm the brotherhood of the two Scanian nations. No other destinations were officially confirmed, but rumors claim that Ostweg, Engellex and even Cantignia would be on the list of travel destinations.

Shock hits the nation and the Saare dynasty again, as his majesty's uncles, Queen Dowager Eha's brother, Prince Ott Andrus, the duke of Imavere declared in a press conference that he joined the fascist party called the National Salvation League. The news were even more shocking as he was declared vice-president of the Party, along with the creator of the party, Aleksander Koppel.

The National Salvation League is now the only party with seats in the Kuningkogu which openly declares that their mission is to save Saaremaa from the "decadent and corrupt monarchy". Seen by some as the buffoon of the Saaremaan politics, by others just a vociferous characters, it seems that more and more see him as the savior of the country, as his party got in the last elections around 15% of the Kuningkogu seats. His main target was the Queen Dowager Eha of house Saare as many saw that during her reign, the press freedom rating of the country fell to one of the lowest in Scania, returning to normal only after she declared that she will abdicate.

The people are worried that the personal war between Queen Eha and her brother, Prince Ott Andrus would now become a national war between the National Salvation League and the monarchic institution. Everyone is now waiting to see if the main idea of the party, the dissolution of the monarchy will change to fighting for the right of succession of the prince. Either way, the people are waiting breathless the see the next move of the Queen Dowager in her war against her brother.

It is of the most Highest Honour for the High Kingdom of Ivernia, and my self the High King, to become the first destination for your Highness to visit so soon after his coronation.
This decision speaks volumes for Iverno-Saaremaa relations, and shows the closeness the High Kingdom enjoys with the Kingdom of the North.

His Highness, Alvar VI, shall be kept within Tara Castle in our capital, Alderburgh, where I myself shall personally show His Majesty the High Kingdom of Ivernia. The King of the North shall enjoy every part of Ivernia and shall be brought upon a royal tour as his predecessors have before him.
Our first destination is north to Formoria where His Majesty will meet the beautiful cold lands of the Norse-Gaels, where also there are many natives from Saaremaa. We will stay with Vincentius Aodh-Mór in Highever Castle in the Dukedom of Highever.
We will then move then west to Milesia, to visit the port cities and the tall sails on the dock and stay with David MacSweeney at Storm Castle. Our Grand Royal Tour will end in Estria, in the centre of Ivernish Catholisicm, with a Blessing from the Primate of Ivernia, Cardinal Rothillan.

Our tour will be warmly welcomed, as it always has, in every corner of Ivernia, and all will cheer the great name of Alvar VI, King of the North!

Complete Decriminalization of Homosexuality

As the whole Europe in now plunged into controversy by different proffesors ​calling homosexuality an illness, the Acceptance Bill has been voted an approved by the Kuningkogu with 158 pro and 113 against. It seemed that the thing that changed the parliamentarians' mind was the speech given by T.K.K Alvar VI, who proudly stated that Saaremaa must be a country of acceptance and one of progress.

The Bill also contains laws that defend sexual minorities (homosexuals and lesbians) from discrimination, with punishment from 300 Saaremaa Krona to one year in prison. In 1910, the death penalty for homosexuality was abolished in the kingdom and the law was changed to a mere fine of 1000 Krona for "public scandals regarding homosexual men and lesbian women". The last fine was paid in 1950. Since then, de facto, the civil code didn't care anymore of the sexual orientation of the people. Now, Article 400 is formally repealed, ending the de jure criminalisation of homosexuality.

Many people were against this, mostly the members and supporters of the National Salvation League and the nobility, citing a destruction of the morals of the Nordic culture and society. The members of the party along with their supporters organized a "march of normality". The marchers clashed with the police after some of them started to throw stones at random people on the street or throwing stones at the windows of shops and apartments which they called "centers of deviancy".

"It is the the need of our society and country, not only to keep with the social advances of other countries, but to be one of the first, to be a vanguard of social freedoms and liberties. It is our duty to help minorities of every kind everywhere. Saaremaa was a progressive nation; it is now our generation's duty to do even more for our country to protect it's citizens." Said in a speech in front of the Kuningkogu, T.K.K Alvar VI.

"It is a disgrace. Look at Solaren today and all those problems regarding homosexuality and all those dance halls protests. This happens when your policies defend criminals instead of sending them to jail. As much as I hear more and more of what my nephew is doing and supporting, I am more and more sure, that there is a need for the moral and civil law to return to this country and save us, normal people from those perversions and the destruction of our Christian society. We, the National Salvation Leave propose that all homosexuals should leave this country. We propose that somewhere in the heart of Himyar, in the Sea of Fire, they should have a country of their own, away from every civilized being." Commented the king's uncle, Prince Ott Andrus, the leader of the National Salvation League.

After this event, many national newspapers have dubbed T.K.K Alvar VI as the "People's King" or the "Red King" as since he was crowned, he sought the friendship of the people over the friendship of the nobles. His Majesty is now on his way to Ivernia to meet the High King and his fiance.

The High Kingdom of Ivernia warmly welcomes this great news today. Now and today the northern nations of Europe are showing progressive and civilised actions that should be a beacon for all others to aspire to.
As in keeping with the teachings of the state Church of Ivernia, a strictly New Testament church, The Lord Jesus Christ had no opinion of Homosexuality and neither shall the Church, or indeed the High Kingdom.
I have no doubt that this piece of news shall be distributed throughout the High Kingdom and will bring a significant boon to your tourism industry as many Ivernish people of an alternate lifestyle prefer to travel to nations of a similar mindset, outlook and culture.

As Archbishop and leader of the Congregation and Believers of the Creed of the Danish Free Protestant Church whilst I am thankful and enthused by the immense tolerance shown to those of the nature deemed to be termed homosexual, and for this Saaremaa shall be recognised as correct in tolerance and to recognition of love towards mankind, I voice caution in the trajectory that the new parliamentary laws may snow-ball into as events beyond those originally envisaged.

Whilst Christ clearly displayed love of man and woman and that we are all enmeshed in an inescapable deviance from the Law of Almighty, for which none can extricate whatever position they hold in temporal society at a given moment in time, the teachings remind us that men should not indulge in activities that are tantamount to practitioning sexual intercourse.

The temporal legislation of Saaremaa dissents in this manner from the teachings of the Testament, following approval by the Assembly-under-King in Kuressaare, and is errant in its understanding and the ultimate consequence of temporal law-making as prescribed is deviant.

I can only vociferously advocate that the Assembly under the Saaremarri monarch take heed and are fully cognisant of the totality of the ultimate results.

We are glad to see that our northern neighbour Saaremaa has broken the shackles of Christian moralism, who, since its inception, has tried to oppress all expressions of human sexuality, namely the pursuit of sexual activity for pleasure. Of course no one endorses homossexual marriages - marriage has a procreative objective; but why should a boy or a girl, having sexual relations with another of the same sex, for pure pleasure, be prosecuted. Fortunately, never being Christianized, Boganhem retained the traditional Germanic (and Indo-European) tolerance towards homossexuality who has never been criminalized or prosecuted. Since there are no religious grounds for doing it (the Bogan Gods give everyone the opportunity to celebrate their love or lust in anyway they see fit, as far as it is consensual), Bogan culture never shunned homossexuals, even though the low percentage. For all that, we never saw any moral or political grounds on criminalizing a conduct which does absolutely no harm to other people.

We congratulate our neighbours and hope other Christian-influenced nations follow this tolerance-driven and realist approach.

Weekly Press Review

As elections approach, the two main political movements in the kingdom create their alliances

Three days ago, the Conservative Party declared it's merge in the National Salvation League. Commenting on the matter, Alexander Koppel declared the the right needs a strong front the keep Saaremaa strong. In response, the Worker's Coalition, together with the Democratic Liberal Party declared the formation of the Social-Liberal Alliance, "so that people who want Saaremaa to continue in the path of progress should stand united under a single banner, the banner of tolerance and freedom" ,declared for the Kuressaare Correspondent the Chairwoman of the Worker's Coalition, Riina Lepp.

"It is a dangerous move, as during this week we have seen how deep is the political division of the country. From now on we can't really talk about a multi-party system, but of a two-party system, the ones who support progress and the traditionalists. I am afraid that this lack of plurality will make many problems especially after the elections. We have seen how fierce was this election campaign, as the capital was everyday witnessing a fight between right and left extremists", commented Heino Eskola, political analyst on this matter.

Student protest against a proposal of amnesty for Prince Ott Andrus turns bad

When an independent member of the Kuningkogu proposed an amnesty for Prince Ott Andrus, who is exiled in Imavere for masterminding a failed bomb attack, the revolted citizens came protesting on the streets. The protest grew in size when the National Salvation Leaugue declared that they would support the amnesty when it will be brought to be voted in the parliament. The students of the Kuressaare Polytechnic and the Kuressaare Academy of Economical Studies joined the protests calling for the law to be respected by everyone without any exception. The demonstration took place in front of the building of the parliament but then slowly moved towards the headquarters of the National Salvation League.
The police intervened when the from the otherwise peaceful protesters, stones started to be thrown towards the headquarter of the party. The police intervened equipped in riot gear to quickly disperse the masses. What followed was a street battle that lasted more than three hours, ending in one student killed and another 43 wounded, out of which 7 are in critical condition.
The student Koit Sisask was killed when the gun of the policeman Olev Meri accidentally fired. The police is now investigating the death, trying to find out if the gun accidentally fired or it was a homicide. Koit Sisask was only 23 years old, recently married and participated for the first time in a demonstration.
Riina Lepp, head of the Social Liberal alliance commented: "It is disgraceful. The National Salvation League wants to free a criminal and the police beat the people simply wanted the law to be respected. We will do everything to see that murdered pay for what he did, as he took away from us a student, a young man, a husband... a Saaremaan."

Government to swiftly respond to the Raasiku Declaration​

As the Declaration of the Generals sent shock waves across the globe, the Royal Government in Kuressaare led by Anna Sepp stated in a press conference that even if they were taken by surprise by the rebellion, treachery and betrayal of the signatory commanders, they will do anything to defend the people, democracy and the monarchy. The commanders of the elite divisions that once were the Knights of the Viridian Cross have reaffirmed their loyalty to the elected government and promised that they will do anything to defend the people against the criminal clique that calls the shots in Raasiku. Swiftness is an important factor in this situation as more and more people are fooled into believing that the military dictatorship would bring them salvation. In response to the declaration, the government will soon start a swift offensive against the clique in Raasiku to bring them to justice and save the state of law in Saaremaa.

”We were fooled by believing that if they swear an oath to protect the nation, their principles would be stronger that their hunger for power. The state and people of Saaremaa have now in front of them a huge problem from which they never suffered since the Civil War and the demise of the Tamm dynasty and that is betrayal. We see today brothers turning against brothers mostly because of the circumstances that created this situation: elections, street fights and corruption in some levels of the society. The problem is that they try to foul the people into believing that the society that they can create is better and so on and the people who saw for so many weeks only street fights between the partisans of many political parties are desperate and they now feel that they must change the country, but the way of the signatory generals is no way to do it. We must fight them and end this nightmare once and for all!” Commented Prime Minister Anna Sepp.

Responding to the marine's rebellion on the Port District in the capital, the government installed the martial law in the state. The police has received orders to patrol the streets and have been armed so that they can defend themselves in face of an attack from potential enemies. The General Staff will soon meet to discuss the next step to resolve this crisis.

"It may even be a plot made by the fascist National Salvation League. They were so quiet since the declaration. I would be surprised to see if the leaders of the party are still in the city in those moments and not in Raasiku. The speech of the Generals clearly shows us that the state they want to create is the same with the plans the National Salvation League had for Saaremaa. We must hit the streets to save the state!" Commented Riina Lepp, the leader of the Worker's Coalition.

Interview of General Paavo Laht; The future of the state

The Kuressaare Correspondent has managed to take an interview of the leader of the Provisional Government in Raasiku, the future of the state being the main subject of the discussions. General Laht was one of the first men to sign the declaration and one of the men who orchestrated the Saaremaari Revolution. He is currently the head of the provisional government in Raasiku and the head of our newly declared National Revolutionary State.

Reporter: "General Laht, thank for giving us the chance of this interview. First I want to ask you, what made you start this movement?"

General Laht: "It was one of my dreams, to see the people saying no to the lies of the politicians. Even when I was younger, in my teenage years, I remember everyone being against a politician or another for not doing what they promised in the election campaign, but I was stunned to see that people only whined and never did anything, even more, four years later they would go to cast their vote on the same men. When they were asked, why did they still vote for him if they still didn't keep their promises, the people mostly said that they didn't trust another candidate. That was in... in the 1918 elections.That was the first time I went to vote and I was shocked by ignorance the people were in and how the politicians manipulated them. I believe that was the time in which I started dreaming of an apolitical society. The Raasiku Declaration is a confederation created by people who had the same ideas like me, and wanted to free the people from the vicious circle in which they were in. What really made us understand in what bad shape the nation was, were the continuous fights in the capital and large cities that were created by the soon to be elections. The politicians of both the right-wing and the left-wing literally divided our people by manipulating them and making them fight each other. To make things worse, the personal war between Queen Eha and Prince Ott Andrus threatened to engulf the nation, thus bringing us in feudalism, we knew that we must do something and help the people take the streets."

R: "You said soon to be elections. Would they still be kept in two weeks?"

GL: "Of course. Contrary to what is the popular belief outside the nation, the Stratocracy and the National Revolutionary State is not a dictatorship. It's a democracy and a meritocracy. But for the first time, the people won't vote for the party, they will vote the man. And I believe that with this, the stratocracy is more evolved than other systems. As you may have people that you like in a certain party, but on the lists for the parliament, it's impossible not to have in them people that you know that are thieves, corrupt and so on. Voting a man, not a group will bring us on a whole new level."

R:"And how would the elections take place?"

GL: "In the saturday of the 25th of May, the people will come to vote and receive a list of people who candidate for the region of the city in urban regions or municipalities in rural regions, from where the voter is. There are currently 200 districts set up in the country, so when the votes will be counted, the first 3 people who receive the most votes will enter the National Assembly. Kuressaare, because of it's size will receive one more seat, so the 4th on the list with the most votes will also get a seat in the Assembly. The stratocracy is, like I said, a meritocratic democracy. We are not here to proclaim ourselves dictators and to oppress the people. We want to save them and give them a new hope. The provisional government will stand down in that day and a few days later when the Assembly will decide who will form the new government and who will be the Supreme Leader, Kuressaare will return to being again the seat of the parliament and government."

R: "Thank you general for the explanations. So, what would be expected from the National Revolutionary State in regards to social, civil and press liberty?"

GL: "In general very small changes. We are against denigration of the state and also to the spreading of lies. The liberties thing will go mostly alongside the idea of trying as much as you can to respect the state and the people."

R: " Two more questions, general. The movement was called by some in foreign and internal press as a mezhist movement. What do you think about it?"

GL: Yes, we were called mezhists by some and even integralists by others. But I will say it again and I will also draw a parallel between those. Mezhists usually tend to see the leader as the most important in the state, the industrialization and urbanization being important in economical level and religiously are either pro or anti-clericalist. It depends on the regime. The Integralists are more archaic, as they rely on the idealization of the good old days before the industrialization and the perfection offered by the rural environment. They are most religious. The Stratocracy on the other hand, is against political parties, so there won't be any party either communist either mezhist to rule the nation. We did this for the people, not for the need of being in power of certain individuals. We won't be like the rulers who are depleting the national resources of the nations and then see the state and their regime collapse because of their mismanagement. We will industrialize the state, we will continue the plan to build rail infrastructure in the state, the modernization and electrification of the Kuressaare-Loksa line being our main project. By developing the industry, we will develop the urban environment. Regarding religion, we will accept priests doing their job as long as they won't use the trust of the people to manipulate them. So, there can be seen many differences from the right-wing ideologies and the stratocracy. There are also some similarities between us and the socialists, but because of the respect of the state that we have, we can never accept their anarchic ways.

R: "The name of the state is National-Revolutionary. Why is that? What is the plan of the government for foreign policy?"

GL: "The National Revolutionary adjectives are there to present the world that in Saaremaa, the people and state are to be respected and also to present the revolutionary features of our new system. Regarding foreign policies, we will go on the idea that law and sovereignty must be respected. For that, we will militate for a free north, without Sylvanian influences or Frescanian occupation zones. We will try to keep relations as best as we can with our Scanian brothers and do anything to befriend even more our Fennian cousins. Those are the main ideas the stratocracy adheres to, but things will be clearer after the formation of the government."

R: "Thank you general for sparing some time for us."

Your diplomatic corps has 48 hours to vacate the premises and leave Sylvanian soil. Our ambassador and his staff have already begun preparations to leave Saaremaa, any interference of their exit from your territory will not be tolerated.

Saaremaa while not a friend to Sylvania in any sense of the word has taken an even more troubling turn toward military fascism and the apparent alignment of Saaremaa with Fennian interests is also condemned. The Continental Republic of Sylvania will not tolerate any interference in the affairs of the Austwegian state, our ally, or any Sylvanian interests that are held in Ostveg.

All diplomats in Saaremaa who espouse Statocracy or align themselves with the New Order Saaremaa will be expelled to the North. All Ivernish diplomats in Saaremaa are to be returned to Ivernia.

All trade is to end and Ivernia has declared an embargo on Saaremaa trade and produce.

The High Kingdom of Ivernia calls for a democratic vote of every person in Saaremaa to fairly decide their own government and method of governance. Until such a time Ivernia will upkeep it's new position of relations.

Provisional Government releases draft for the First Septennial Plan


Following a meeting held in Raasiku earlier today, the Provisional Government issued the draft for what they termed the First Septennial Plan, largely engineered to continue the economical and military development of the state and to engender national economic expansion.The central plank of the plan is the transformation of state enterprises, especially large companies, into mixed establishments in which foreign entrepreneurs can invest. The share of foreign investor-companies will be restricted to 50%, split between the National Revolutionary State and the other 50% as private investments. The main companies that were listed as being available for the investors are the huge SaarPuit holding the monopoly for the exploitation of the huge forests in the west of the nation and the Imavere Mining Company, which dominates primary mineral extraction in the Imavere Mountain Range, especially copper and iron ore.


The Provisional Government additionally unveiled that students who finish high school this June will be the first to embark upon their military stage, with current university students being exempt from national service, but with the proviso that they will be unable to exercise their vote in either local or national elections. However, in order to give them a chance to earn the right to vote, the last intake of current students in schools and universities across the land will be accorded the status, if they choose to exercise it, as the last volunteers in the army of the National Revolutionary State.

Meanwhile, the White Army was declared by the Provisional Government an entity servile to the corrupted monarchy, and has been commanded to be reformed into the Black Army, the the newly created Revolutionary Army of the Stratocracy. Having found itself under a concerted political and diplomatic assault by its belligerent Northern neighbor, the Fennian Union naturally welcomes the Saarenmaan proclamations of support in this situation where unjustified territorial demands are being made against the Union by powers looking to foster a military conflict in Scania.

Having said that, the Union remains committed to the maintenance of good relations between the Fennian and Saaremaan peoples as our ethnic cousins are overcoming the internal chaos that has been plaguing them over the recent months. It is the desire of the Fennian government to support the Saaremaan nation in its aims of national reinforcement and prosperity.
