Marshall Mihkel Vaino reaffirms zero tolerance policy to corruption
In a press conference, organized following the scandal rocking the Republic of Belmont, Marshall Mihkel Vaino, State Protector of the National Revolutionary State of Saaremaa reaffirmed the meritocratic stance of the government of zero tolerance to corruption. The scandal in Belmont, regarding two ministers accused of corruption has made us look our own society retrospectively and remember the chaos that started the day when the Raasiku Declaration was signed and lasted until the last day of the April Revolution. The monarchists and opportunists were trying to destroy our country when they saw that they can't win against the united forces of the National Army and the People. A year has passed since then and order has since returned. We have made a united front against political opportunism and corruption and since then Saaremaa not only did we manage to form a united front, like a wall of steel against corruption and opportunism, but we manage to rise Saaremaa like a phoenix, breaking all the records of development we had as a kingdom.
The State Protector, following closely the scandal in Belmont, has condemned the corrupted ministers for manipulating the people for their own gains and declared that corruption has no place in modern Saaremaa and then events like in Belmont won't ever happen, as the State will deal swiftly with them, so this affliction that is corruption cannot gain a foothold in Saaremaa.
"We must be sure that the whole world forms a united front against political corruption and opportunism. The world's peoples are not livestock on which party politicians can rise and fight for personal riches. We will be watching closely the situation in Belmont and see if their justice system is able to deal with this crisis. I wish to state again that our own justice system will never let such a thing occur. That is the difference between party politics and the meritocracy. We will never let ourselves influenced by corruption. It is an import." Declared the State Protector.
State Visit to Ivernia
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jaak Raud will leave at the beginning of the next week to Ivernia in the first state visit since to the southern country since the April Revolution. The two countries have broken their relations after the April Revolution, when the Saar dynasty of Saaremaa ran to Ivernia. During the mandate of Marshall Paavo Laht and the provisional government, the Kingdom of Ivernia was seen as the main bastion of the counter-revolutionary forces, the hostilities in the relations of the two countries sparking a cold war between them. The government led by Marshall Laht was ready for an invasion co come from the south, but the whole mania ended when Paavo Laht received a vote of no confidence from the Grand National Assembly and Marshall Mihkel Vaino was elected State Protector of the National Revolutionary State of Saaremaa. Since the coming to power of Marshall Vaino, the relations between Saaremaa and Ivernia were characterized by a detente, the hostile rhetoric being reduced to a zero and today, its expected for the whole cold war to end with the visit of Jaak Raud to Alderburgh.
"We hope that we can return to the good relations that we had in the past with the Ivernian brothers. Saaremaa and Ivernia were economical partners since the immemorial and the current state of affairs affects not only Saaremaa, but Ivernia also," declared Jaak Raud. The goal of the visit is to normalize the relations between Saaremaa and Ivernia and with it, maybe with the whole Tripartite Agreement. The visit is part of a continental tour of the Minister of Foreign Affairst, Ivernia being the first country on the list and will be followed by the Empire of Auraria.
