President Rodriguez Signs Federal Reorganization Act

Early this morning, President Manuel Rodriguez signed the Federal Reorganization Act of 1953.

The Act decentralizes the structure of the federal government by promoting the Secretary positions into Ministers. This will provide the Ministries with more flexibility and autonomy from the Chancellery.

The Ministries will gain more autonomy under the new Act. Some as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will have a harder time adjusting.

After signing the Act, President Rodriguez stated that the “reorganization of our federal government is essential as it will allow us to better serve the Frescanian people. With greater autonomy, the Ministries can explore different solutions to a problem, just as our federal system provides us with a policy laboratory in which states are sovereign to experience with laws within their borders”.

The signing of the Act came as it gathered strong support from both the Democratic and Socialist parties in the National Assembly, making it a strong bipartisan issue. Because of this, President Rodriguez bypassed the Senate and signed the Act. Despite this, Consul Pablo Furmantes has released a statement saying that the Senate endorses the Act.

The reorganization of the Ministries will take effect next year, when a new government takes power after this November’s parliamentarian elections.

The Fennian Union

Against the backdrop of the state of relations between the Union and the unrecognized Auswegian government, we must express our criticism for the announced plans of Frescanian troop deployment to that country and warn that the presence of Frescanian troops on Norse soil might reflect negatively on Fennian-Frescanian relations. The belligerence and aggression espoused by Chancellor Bakken's administration is a thorough threat to peace in Scania, and the deployment of Frescanian troops to such a country in concordance with their government - which continues in absurd degrees the provocations and expansionist attitudes targeted against the Fennian people - has been met with concern by the Union.

The deployment of troops was agreed by the Republic and the Kingdom of Ostveg last year and the Ministry of Defense has been transparent on the time frame of the deployment, scheduled for mid June earlier this year. We must re-state that we do not want aggression against the Fennian Union and out presence is not a threat. The Republic continues to call on Ostveg and the Fennian Union to bring about a peaceful resolution to the issue.

Fennian Unioni
The Fennian Union

While the Union remains committed to the maintenance of the present status of relations between Fennia and Frescania, the presence of Frescanian troops in Unrecognized Ostveg is not conductive to that goal and could serve as a potential hindrance in maintenance of our diplomatic relations. With the presence of Frescanian troops on Fey and the Frescanian alignment with Kristiania occurring against the backdrop of continued aggression directed by the Bakken regime against the Fennian Union, the recent political support rendered by the Bakkenists to terrorist elements in Malminmaa and the irredentist policies adopted by Chancellor Bakken and her cronies, Frescania should distance itself from these ignoble goals.
