Nokanawa welcomes the recent developments in Paris and notices that they are they are the kind of response the world can expect from a responsible power on the global state such as Belmont. Belmont's attitude is beneficial towards finding an ultimate solution to the problems in South Touyou.

FOREIGN MINISTER RENAUDIÈRE SUMMONS RATOMKIRAN AMBASSADOR
Meets to discuss evidence of foreign backing to northern Ratomkiran insurgents

In a move that has been condemned by the Ministry of External Affairs of Vangala, Foreign Minister Renaudière has met with the ambassador of Ratomkira, just as Parliament has announced that the People's Republic of Vangala's role was questionable and needed to be explained. The Ratomkiran Government has claimed in the past that the insurgents who have set up their own country in the northern regions of Ratomkira are supported by Vangala. Kilkila in turn has pointed its finger to the supposed extremes of the military rulers of Ratomkira.

The trade agreement that was planned between Belmont and Vangala has been, according to latest reports, been postponed, and will continue to be so until the PRV Government doesn't provide proper evidence to the Belmontien Government that it has not supported the insurgents in Ratomkira. There are rumors floating around Paris that the Government is planning to hold talks with Oikawa about the situation in Ratomkira. The communist insurgency's self proclaimed country borders the Oikawan ally of Jizhou and concerns exist that the Ratomkiran situation could spill over into the neighboring country and worsen the security situation further.

The recent meeting between the South Ratomkiran Ambassador and the Belmontien Foreign Minister serves as proof to the People's Republic of Vangala that Paris is non-committal about its relationship with Vangala and places greater importance on its questionable friendship with the bloodthirsty Siem Khun dictatorship.

Claims being made by the Vangalan Government are baseless. The Government of Belmont is pursuing a balanced approach to the matter and is thoroughly researching the claims being made Siem Khun, as it has been instructed to do so by the Parliament of Belmont. Furthermore, claims such as the ones made above lack proof and should be refrained from being used in diplomatic correspondences until concrete proof hasn't been found on anything regarding Siem Khun or Kilkilla.

The latest snub of the the Peoples Republic of Vangala in favor of the criminal regime in Siem Khun is further proof of Belmont's alignment and that in truth Paris has been bought and paid for by the LFS.

The Kingdom of Belmont and its Realms are an independent nation, we do not adhere to the system of alliance politics in international affairs, something which the Socialist Republic of Coronado can do well by remembering, and claims such as the ones made in the statement above are false. The Kingdom is simply making sure that we are not going to sign a lucrative trading deal with a country that is supporting instability in its neighborhood.

It is already an established fact that Paris adheres to the system of alliance politics in international affairs as its close alignment with the LFS and its willingness to allow Greater Sarmatian bases to be established within Belmont's borders can attest.

Communism rears its ugly head again
Issues with Coronado & Vangala becoming increasingly heated

The Belmont-Coronado border has remained fortified since the end of the Great War

Today, as the Socialist Republic of Coronado announced that it was lending recognition to the Revolutionary People's Republic of Ratomkira - or North Ratomkira, as it is known - has resulted in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issuing a statement in which they have denounced the move by Toledo and reaffirmed the Kingdom's stance that North Ratomkira was being run by terrorists and only the Kingdom of Ratomkira was the sole Ratomkira. This recognition comes just as the Governments of Belmont and Vangala are involved in a diplomatic row, which has led to a highly lucrative trade deal being scrapped, over the alleged Vangalan links to the government of North Ratomkira.

When in March 2010, just as the de Graaf regime was collapsing in Batavië, many in Belmont had assumed that the threat to the Kingdom from the communists had dissipated and Belmont could move past the paranoia. This viewpoint was aided by the fact that Coronado, the Kingdom's southern neighbor, had been in self imposed isolation and the threat emanating from it had been deemed negligible. But in recent weeks we have seen a more aggressive stance being taken by the Toledo government in many matters related to the Kingdom. The Martinique Government has responded by toughening the country's stance on the Socialist Republic by formally allying itself with the Empire of Greater Sarmatia to counter Coronado's membership of the RDTO.

As communism is rearing its head again and making it a concern for the government in Paris, the military has announced it will be conducting a test drill later this week, though it had been planned months ago and regional governments had been informed in advance. But regardless, sources have confirmed to us that the government was expecting that the current drop in ties with two major communist countries in the world would continue to worsen, at least for the foreseeable future.

We will be monitoring the relations between Coronado and Belmont carefully. While doing so, we call for both governments to act rationally and avoid any escalation in differences. Negotiations are always possible.

"It is my opinion that the situation isn't as bad as the media suggests but nonetheless we must be careful when dealing with Coronado."

Sinese Embassy in Belmont

With permission from the Office of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs in Sinhai,
This document is authorized to be disseminated to the Belmontien Foreign Office.
This document is for the Belmontien Minister of Foreign Affairs eyes only.

It has recently come to my attention that certain factors pertaining to the relationship between Vangala and Belmont have created a roadblock on further mendings of relations between your two states. While this is not beneficial for the lives of a select few, my government has evidence that suggests the Vangalan government may have been responsible for funding an insurgency within North Sinhai, and sparking conflicts which led to the outbreak of warfare in Sinhai.

The Republic of Sinhai stands in solidarity with our South Ratomkiran fellows against what seems to be a grossly underestimated and comprehensive plan by the Vangalan government to unseat many regional governments through revolutionary Communism.

Should any evidence be discovered pertaining to the question of Vangalan-sponsored violence in the Orient, I would kindly ask such information be sent to Sinese intelligence agencies so that my government can begin proactively countering this threat within Sinhai, and within the Orient in general. The time for half-measures and tolerance of dictators is at an end so long as such apathy can pose a threat to the very dignity of man.

Through collaboration with the brutal military dictatorships in South Ratomkira and Sinhai and by staging unnecessary and provocative military drills designed to intimidate the people of Coronado, the Kingdom of Belmont has irreparably damaged its reputation and relationship with the People's Republic of Vangala.

As citizens of a nation that lived under the threat of Communist invasion for over 50 years, the Cornavians understand the pressures felt by Belmont in the face of a political reawakening by the Coronadic Socialist regime. However, we still urge calm and especially we urge against turning towards unscrupulous regimes for support against the looming Communist hazard. Instead, Belmont should work with democracies in the region to counteract extremism in general.

Mr. William Fenner,

The recent events in Belmont have proven that there is hope for a return to former relations with Ratomkira. We however remain sceptic knowing that the people who where pro the dealings with the terrorist-state Vangala are still in the Belmonti government. Furthermore we echo the sentiments send out by Cornavia.

PARLIAMENT RUSHES THROUGH ƒ550 MILLION IN DEFENSE AID FOR RATOMKIRA
In move set to spite Vangala, Parliament asks Govt. to drop its detente policy with communists, Govt. accepts

The Joint-Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy, the main arm of the Parliament in charge of foreign policy which recently announced their intention of investigating claims that the People's Republic of Vangala was involved with the KKP insurgents in North Ratomkira, has announced that they thought it best to release ƒ550 million for the Kingdom of Ratomkira for defense requirements of the country. The Joint-Committee's chairman, Mr. Hussain Shiekh, said that he was of the opinion that the detente with the communists, planned and implemented by former Foreign Minister Villepin, was not well placed and "served to improve ties with communist states at the expense of longstanding allies; such as Ratomkira." And had placed undue burden upon the current foreign minister who inherited the "bankrupt" policy.

The defense package will be focused on "providing the Ratomkiran military an improved ability to reclaim the northern territories", currently under KKP insurgent control. The move is set to draw rage from Kilkila and the Government has already prepared a statement which shall be issued from the Embassy of Belmont in Kilkila in due course of time. The Government, however, has said that it was essential at this time to maintain communication and the respective embassies must be maintained.

The Kingdom's relationship with Ratomkira has taken a hit in several months due to the communist detente policy and Premier Martinique, who has been, according to sources, trying to resolve the issues with Ratomkira was told by the country's Ambassador to choose a side in the Vangala - Ratomkira region. The Government remained diplomatic but the Parliament, which got wind of the conversation, has shown its strength as an institution and has forced the government to decide.

UPDATE: Benjamin Martinique shot at commemoration ceremony of author Pierre Leblanc

Benjamin Martinique (61), the husband of Premier Shahrazad Martinique since 1977, has been shot in Paris when he and his wife were attending a ceremony to mark the 150th birth anniversary of the author Pierre Leblanc. The Premier is reportedly unharmed but video footage shows that Mr. Martinique has suffered serious injury and has been rushed to the St. Peter Hospital, where he is being operated upon at this moment. The Director General of the ISE has announced that he has ordered an immediate investigation and the Minister of the Interior has said that the target of the attack was the Premier and this assassination attempt failed for whatever reason. He has said that the two Deuxièmes, or deputy Premiers, have called an emergency meeting of the cabinet and are discussing the situation.

More on this as it develops.

The People's Republic of Vangala is closing its Embassy in Paris and withdrawing all diplomatic staff from Belmont. We cannot maintain formal diplomatic ties with a country that is actively supporting South Ratomkira, a dangerous nation which has issued countless violent threats against Vangala and is responsible for one of the worst humanitarian crises in modern history.

To Her Excellency Premier Martinique,

His Majesty Shahanshah Karim III sends our deepest condolences to you and your husband, Thomas. Those who attempt such terroristic activities such as assignations are the enemies of all civilization. While your nation and ours have experienced difficulties in the past today all of the United Emirates stand with you and the nation of Belmont. Our sincerest hopes and prayers for a speedy and full recovery for your husband are with you in this time.

Karim III
