:!: Tishonga Refugee Camp: Outside of Nouveau Port is now the largest refugee camp in a first world nation, with a population tipping the scales at nearly 200,000. The camp is already way beyond capacity, and there are an estimated 1,000 new arrivals every day. Emergency sessions of Parliament and the Cabinet have been called to address the ongoing crisis.

:!: Outside Nouveau Port: Along the boarder between the NP Metropolitan Area and the RdS, a huge explosion was seen in the pre-dawn hours. As of yet it is unclear what caused the explosion, but the Prime Minister's office has confirmed that she is currently meeting with the cabinet. An emergency meeting of parliament has been called for 5:30 this morning (Nouveau Port Time). We will provide further updates as the situation develops.

Furthermore we condemn this senseless act of violence against innocent citizens. President DeNavén has urged citizens to pray for the victims of this cowardly attack. To emphasize his commitment to global peace and security, fifty troublemakers, agitators and other traitors shall be executed at midnight tonight. We hope this pleases the government of Radilo to prove we are with our neighbors in our struggle against terrorism. While this and many other government will be watching and monitoring these developments closely, we must comment on the RdS's intention to execute 'troublemakers' and so forth in an effort of displaying solidarity. Such inhumane and tyrannous acts are potent evidence that, regardless of where this incident leads the region, the Government of the RdS has a skewed perspective of peace and security. We in Batavia hope that this sentiment one day changes, for the better of all peoples in this region and beyond.

Radilan Embassies to Sell Liquor


:!: Nouveau Port: Alex Lacrux is suing the National Front for copyright infringement. Senator Lacrux was a member of the Apartheid-controlled National Assembly, where he was a prominent member of the reform wing of the original NF that was unofficially sympathetic to the Himyari National Congress. He sided with Vincent von Eck in formally denouncing the Apartheid government and Lacrux helped to oversee the eventual merger of the reform wing of the NF into the HNC. He is currently a Liberal (RPL) senator form Nouveau Valmy and is one of only three members of the old Apartheid Regime with seats in the Parliament. His lawsuit contends that, because the original NF was officially absorbed by the HNC, that they still had the rights to the name. The HNC, however, officially disbanded in the 1980s. Lacrux contends though that because the Rally for Liberty (RPL or Liberals) is a descendent party of the HNC that he still has grounds to sue the new National Front. He has stated that his motivation for bringing the suit was that the current NF is sullying the image of the reformed movement within the old NF that helped bring about the end of the Apartheid in the 1960s. Most political observers suggest that it is a move to try to weaken the new NF, something Lacrux agreed with when asked.

:!: Nouveau Port: There is a lot of controversy dealing with the Pope’s new edict regarding homosexuality. This controversy, however, has not manifested in Radilo, where the Catholic Church has been supportive of gays for some time. Cardinal Desmond Rakuul, Archbishop of Nouveau Port and the leader of the Catholic Church in Radilo, has repeatedly called for the acceptance of homosexuality within the church and society in general. The Conference of Bishops, of which Rakuul is president, has already issued several statements supporting the Pope. This is one of the rare instances where the very vocal Cardinal has sided with the Holy See during a controversy about scripture or social issues.

:!: Nürnberg: The Radilan Consulate for the EDF told Les Temps that the alliance has been engaging in a positive discussion with the Vangalan government for several weeks. The main focus of these talks is economics, but it is likely that geo-politics is also on the agenda. Radilo has had a long standing relationship with the eastern Communist State, though economic interaction between the two states is still limited. Vangala was a well known financier of the HNC, providing them with money, weapons, and occasionally refuge. Former President Jas Lyon DeGinghs lived there during his exile in the 1960s.


Everywhere: The Foreign Service has gotten permission from the government to open up small bars within Radilan Embassies. The rational is that the embassies will then act as cultural exchange between embassy staff and locals; it is also an opportunity for Radilo to show off one of its largest exports. When asked about dry nations like Hajr, the Foreign Service noted that since the embassy is sovereign soil of the Third Republic that they are allowed to sell liquor.

This marks the lowest point in relations between Radilo and Belmont since the end of the Apartheid Regime. Still, the PM and Parliament have stated their official neutrality in the conflict.

The recent firing on a Franconian vessel is unwarranted and unjustifiable. :!: Nouveau Port: It has been leaked that a small fleet of the Republican Navy has been dispatched to Lorianne to aid with fortification. When asked about this latest development, Defense Minister, and Former Air Marshal, Joule Yo'am stated that she did not want this action to be seen as a move against the Third Republic's longtime ally Belmont, rather as assistance being provided to a fellow EDF state. With the recent entry of the Workers' Republic of Carentania, into the foray, many are concerned that the conflict might spread to Lorianne, Belmont's Gallic rival.
