The People's Republic of Vangala believes the creation of a national unity government, involving all revolutionary forces in Sinhai, is imperative, and will co-operate with all our comrades-in-arms to see this become a reality.

 Vangalan military enters Sinhai
STN Siyang

The Vangalan People's Armed Forces have crossed the Emerald River and are engaging with remnants of the Yujiner Imperial Army, the Vangalan Ministry of National Defence has just announced.

A statement released to the international press reads:

"Units from the military of the People's Republic of Vangala have entered Sinhese territory with the acquiescence of the provisional authorities. The People's Republic of Vangala is responding to numerous provocations from Imperial forces located in the border regions, which now remain in Sinhai illegitimately following the recent declaration of independence.

The People's Republic of Vangala is also responding to requests to guarantee the integrity and sovereignty of Sinhai, with the local provisional authorities concerned by the machinations of the Kingdom of Sri Siva."

Aerial assaults on Imperial positions in Sinhai reportedly began this morning, with infantry and armoured vehicles only recently entering Sinhai after a sustained artillery barrage, according to sources nearby.

The Yujiner Imperial government, and other regional governments, have yet to make an official statement on the Vangalan intervention.

Yujin Crisis: Vangalan Army Hit With Chemical Weapons
STN Siyang

The full scope of the Declaration of Unlimited National Emergency, or DUNE, has become apparent as the Imperial defenders of the Emerald River unleashed a furious chemical and biological counter-attack to Vangalan forces as they crossed the river. Unable to hold their ground against the huge scope of the attack, nerve gases and weaponized viruses were unleashed on Vangalan conscripts as they hit the beaches and crossed the river, with the low-lying, invisible nerve gases covering the river in a layer of sightless death.

Vangalan troops were able to successfully dislodge the Imperial forces from their fortified positions, however, as numerous units tactically withdrew from the front and are seeking to fortify the de facto Imperial provincial capital of Sapphaya. Imperial casualties were estimated to be as high as eight thousand in the first day of the attack, with numerous veteran units engaged in fighting retreats across northern Sinhai. The use of chemical and biological weapons in the conflict represents the first time the nation of Yujin has utilized such weapons against a foreign power, and the scope of the attacks suggests that Imperial production of the weapons has been significantly increased since the start of the war.

Lianggang has withstood chemical bombardments for over a week, with reports coming from rebel forces that Imperial troops have attempted to assault the northern bank of the river. Mixed reports suggest that the Imperials may or may not have effectively seized a beachhead, and all signs point to a further intensification of fighting in the critical northern city.

GOVERNMENT OF SIKANDARA
COUNCIL FOR DIPLOMACY
PUBLIC STATEMENT
The news of Vangalan military invasion in the Empire of Yujin is horrific and we condemn this breach of the Empire of Yujin's sovereignty. The Empire of Sikandara shall consider all options at her disposal. The brazen actions of the Kilkila clique shall not be taken lightly.

The blinkered support from Sikandari feudalists and autocrats for the mass-murdering Despot Qirui is now plain for the world to see.

The Empire of Yujin and the People's Republic of Vangala have been at a state of war ever since the Yujiner Imperial Army launched an unprovoked invasion into Vangalan territory. After being successfully repulsed by Vangala and her allies, remnants of Yujiner imperial forces have continued to terrrorise Vangalan border defences.

The People's Republic of Vangala has also not violated the sovereignty or integrity of any nation - we were invited into Sinhai by the new popular revolutionary government opposed to the continued tyrany of the Xiang dynasty and fearful of an attack from Sri Siva.

The Sikandari imperial government is in no position to lecture any other government on their conduct abroad. Sikandara maintains a duplicitous position toward Vangala, offering negotiations whilst intervening in Yujin to assist Vangala's enemies.

If Sikandara truly cared for the welfare for the East, it would unreservedly condemn the use of chemical and biological weapons by Yujiner forces, against both Vangalan military personnel and Yujiner civilians, and end its support for the Xiang Cabal in Zhenjiang.

We remind Sikandara once again and one last time, that the Empire of Yujin has declared war upon the RDTO and attempted an invasion of the sovereign nation of Vangala - a crime which Sikandara turned a blind eye to. To feign such an outcry at the moment Vangala is striking back is hipocrisy and evidence of Sikandaras intention to support the Empire of Yujin in its war.

Carentania demands the withdrawal of Sikandari troops from Yujin or it will consider the Sikandari intervention in the ongoing war on the side of Yujin to be an act of aggression towards the Workers' Republic and a declaration of war with all its consequences.

GOVERNMENT OF SIKANDARA
COUNCIL FOR DIPLOMACY
PUBLIC STATEMENT
The Imperial Government must point out that this "new popular revolutionary government" is a stooge of the Kilkila Clique, much as it itself is a puppet of Rijecka. We suppose even a puppet such as the Kilkila regime feels the need to demonstrate its power to itself to cope with the emasculation inflicted on the great Vangalan people through the imposition of a communist setup. We find it amusing that the "might" of the Vangalan Armed Forces could not control its own territory in face of a few remnants of Yujiner troops. Does becoming a Carentanian pawn weaken a nation so much?

The Imperial Government would further like to clarify that we have made our position on the use of chemical weapons known to the Government of Yujin. And our actions in Yujin are completely legitimate, as we are acting in that country to protect our national interests and security. We have sought permission to intervene in the situation from the sole legitimate and internationally recognised authority of the country, that is the Government of Yujin. So Vangalan claims are baseless. Rather than being critical of our intentions, the Kilkila Clique should look to their own allies, or should we say masters, who have recently condemned efforts of the Sixian Government to broker a ceasefire in the conflict.

Now this we say to the Carentanian masters of the Kilkila Clique, you may be able to bully your way across Himyar, but you may not do so in this continent. We have always stated that our operations in Yujin are not related to anything apart from securing our own national interests in the country. This, the RDTO seems unable to understand. To that effect, we state that the Carentanian position is extreme.

Sikandara is a champion of peace in this conflict. The forces of communism are trying to conquer Yujin, now that they realise that they may not be allowed to conquer the great nation of Yujin, they attempt to partition it and occupy portions of the country. We have been conducting operations in Yujin for over three weeks and not a single Yujiner law has been broken by our men and we can be proud of the fact that we are friends and allies of the Yujiner people, who are our brothers and sisters. The Empire of Sikandara salutes the bravery of the Yujiner people.

Yujin Crisis: First Round of Ceasefire Talks Inconclusive
STN Siyang

After hours of uninterrupted negotiations on behalf of Southlander and Yujiner representatives, arbitrated by Sixian officials, officials were seen leaving the hotel where the discussions are being held. Representatives stated that the first round of negotiations were inconclusive, but a future round was expected to be hosted again soon. Southlander delegates stated that Sixian terms were acceptable, and cited reports of the most recent Vangalan invasion as the necessitating factor behind these talks.

Imperial officials, believed to have been responsible for ending the first round of talks, cited a number of concerns with the Sixian proposal, but said that the initial platform could be adjusted to become suitable.

"The Southlander delegates have made it clear that any progress at these discussions can not be made without addressing the Sun Daoshi issue. This issue can be resolved. Our primary concerns are rumors that the Southland has been in talks with renegade General Zhao Yue, and that the industrial resources stolen by those rebels, along with the Mezhist resources currently in the Southlanders possession, are both the rightful property of the Imperial government and are critical to the war effort. Without those resources, this war can not be won," Imperial representative San Yulei informed the press.

"A ceasefire between our government and the Southland forces is critical in order to achieve a united front. The Emperor has recognized this fact and authorized us to use our own discretion in establishing this agreement. We hope for the next round of talks to be held within several days, and hope that an agreement can be reached within the month."

Yujin Crisis: Vangalan ships arrive in Siraama
STN Siyang

Ships from the Vangalan navy and soldiers from the Vangalan army have been sighted in the Sinhese capital Siraama by STN sources. The city was recently seized by a coalition of Red Alliance rebels and Sinhese nationalists, who are both allies with the People's Republic of Vangala in the fight against the Yujiner Imperial Government.

Analysts suspect the purpose of the Vangalan military presence is twofold: first is to provide a new avenue of attack into Yujin, and second is to assert authority over the victorious revolutionaries, who are in open disagreement as to who should run Sinhai.

Earlier this week the Vangalan Minister of External Affairs Abdul Qamaruzzaman called for a 'National Unity Government' in which both members of the Red Alliance and Sinhese nationalist movements, principally the Sinhese Revolutionary Socialist Party, serve.

The exact numbers of Vangalan military personnel in Siraama is unknown, but STN sources say new arrivals are coming constantly. The Vangalan Ministry of National Defence has not released an official statement concerning Vangalan military operations in Siraama, providing only updates on the offensive against Yujiner Imperial forces near the Emerald River.

Carentania is also believed to be rerouting supplies to go through Siraama instead of Chattananga, Vangala's main port.

Yujin Crisis: Empire At War
STN Siyang

Situation in Sinhai
Combat in the fractious western Yujiner province is decisively in Vangalan and rebel favor, with front line Imperial units tactically withdrawing on all fronts. Clashes between Imperial units and advancing Vangalan forces are brief, with Imperial units splitting apart in the face of the Communist onslaught only to regroup for counter-attacks against smaller Communist forces. Imperial fighters wander the countryside incognito, reportedly operating from refugee caravans bound for Sri Siva. The Vangalan attack and Communist advances have incurred widespread fear and uncertainty, with thousands fleeing to refugee camps established in Yujin's southern neighbor.

Many of these refugees are leaving Siraama, a city which has come to serve as a base of operations for Vangalan troops. Many of these refugees cite concerns for their property and livelihood; struggles against wealthy Sinese was responsible for the deaths of eighteen families last week alone. Despite attempts to fortify Sapphaya, all signs point to a general retreat of Imperial forces, and a general evacuation of the civilian population of Sapphaya and Sai Phraya has resulted in extraordinarily long refugee caravans. Vangala Sri Siva

Peace Talks in Sixia
Peace talks in Sixia broke down today as diplomats from both sides stormed out of the meeting. Imperials cite the official surrender of General Zhao Yue and his Republican movement to the Southland as their reasons for walking out on the meeting. Officials for Warlord Sun Zhida expressed a willingness to drop the talks entirely, noting that it was Imperial forces on the defensive on multiple fronts and that Southlanders were in discussions at their own pleasure. The addition of Meishan province to the Southlands holdings, and merging of veteran Republican troops with the Southlands crack forces, present a significant and direct threat to the Imperial capital itself.

Meanwhile, corporations supporting the abortive Republican movement have reaffirmed their support for the Imperial anti-Communist war effort, with many pledging to restore productivity to secure Imperial cities. This comes despite Carentanian efforts to intimidate corporations by threatening economic retaliation. Representatives for the corporations have dismissed the threats as 'bullying', noting that their combined assets in Communist nations amounts to a mere 4% of their collective assets. Imperial Progress
After a week of intermittent control over a beachhead on the northern river bank, with makeshift rafts making numerous crossings under heavy artillery and aircraft cover, Imperial forces have announced that they have secured a river crossing into the embattled city of Lianggang and are making headway into the city proper in an assault spearheaded by mechanized Imperial units known as 'Armored Fists'. Hongmenghui counter-attacks are largely ineffective, with experts attributing the lack of cohesion and cooperation among rebel forces to widespread use of chemical weapons preventing the rebels from effectively fortifying positions within the city.

Imperial designers also announced that field trials for a new assault rifle had been completed and that the weapon would enter mass production next week and be set to be introduced at the battalion level for veteran units fighting on the front lines. The weapon, effective for both urban and field combat, is set to equalize Imperial and rebel equipment capabilities in Lianggang, which have favored the rebels since the introduction of assault weapons by the rebels foreign backers. Foreign support, primarily from the nations of Tyrrhenia and Carentania, have been critical to ensuring the survival of the rebellion in the North - it is unclear if Imperial progress into Lianggang is sustainable. Military expansion drive started in Sikandara
STN Siyang

With the intensification of hostilities in Yujin, the Military of Sikandara is rumored to have asked for permission to mobilize additional units from the Imperial Reserve Force and to purchase a greater amount of military hardware. Journalists in the Sikandari capital, Shahdara, also report rumours floating in official circles of debate raging about whether or not to grant authorization to the defence industry of the country to go on war footing, which would allow it to assume priority and receive special grants and subsidies from the government. The Government of Sikandara has also begun financial negotiations with a host of countries which would allow friendly nations to get involved by default in the conflict without compromising their own interests. Rumours suggest discussion is also ongoing with private financial institutions across the world to further augment the military capacity of the imperial effort in Yujin.

Yujin Civil War: An Emerging Victor
STN Siyang

The Yujin Civil War is a conflict which has seen a number of factions raise a total of more than five million men to arms over the past three years. The war has destroyed the Yujiner economy and left an unknown million number of dead to famine, disease, and murder. The direct intervention of foreign forces rapidly escalated the conflict, upsetting the balance of power that ensured the war would go on without end.

Without adequate support, the Hongmenghui lost ground on the Qi River and quickly collapsed throughout Mao Province and Liangang - a shattered city whose brutal three year battle alone has left nearly a million dead. Fighting continues throughout the province, and the black smoke of war continues to churn in the skies over northern Yujin.

But one truth is becoming ever more apparent: the Xiong regime is rapidly emerging as the victor of this war. His detractors call him the "Monster of the East," his forces have openly used chemical and biological weapons against Vangalan soldiers in Xinhai and stand accused of doing the same against Yujiner population centers in Mao Province. However, the Emperor has been able to rally his nation, forming a fragile unity alliance with the Southland, strengthening the nations sheltered inland industrial centers, and pulling together the fractured society.

In large part, the Emperor's victory has been built upon the Vangalan intervention itself; the traditional enemy of Yujin, their involvement in Xinhai gave the regime the necessary ammunition it needed to convince the people outside of Mao Province that this war was not one being fought against its own people. The governments claims that the Hongmenghui were little more than foreign puppets gained traction.

Almost overnight military moral fundamentally changed - neutralizing the only real edge Hongmenghui forces maintained over their Imperial counterparts. Better equipped, supplied, and supported, the Imperial forces Spring offensive into Liangang devastated the Hongmenghui defenders. The military has reported that two major checkpoints along the provincial border with Seora have been recaptured, along with three others on the frontier with the Anti-State. It is apparent that Mao is set to see Imperial order restored to it, allowing the government to consolidate their hold on the heartlands of Yujin and focus on outlying provinces such as Seora, Xinhai, and Qiangzuo.

It is unclear whether or not the Imperial government will be able to recapture these renegade provinces, but the Emperor's hold on his country has never been stronger than any time in the past three years, and the possibility of a rebel victory is all but impossible in the near future. Fractured by the death of their leader, the Hongmenghui lack the will to fight, and with the restoration of the Imperial navy their access to foreign materiel aid will be unable to match the ever increasing industrial output of the Empire.

I have been instructed by Her Majesty's Government to allow peaceful units to enter into embattled sites, to provide medical support. We would also like to ask factions to allow the free passage of Cœurlois and other foreign nationals safely to their respective embassies. We hope this request can be answered promptly.

POLLARD, Ludovic

Our government is currently in a state of war, beset by enemies across the world who seek to manipulate our domestic politics for their own advantages, undermine our way of life, and colonize our lands as well as our people's minds. In lieu of this, our nation and people face a multifaceted existential threat to our very way of life, and the offer of assistance from a foreign nation is viewed as a means to preserve our people. Recognizing these facts, we are prepared to grant vetted Cœurlois and other international citizens access to designated areas with approved packages. A number of refugee camps currently serving one million internally displaced persons will be opened to Cœurlois humanitarian personnel. Unfortunately, given the security situation in several provinces of the Empire, access will be restricted to regions where Imperial escorts can reasonably ensure their safety. No international citizen is authorized to visit territories currently controlled by rebel groups and, should they do so, full recognize the risks and accept the consequences of their actions.

Sincerely,
Xia Liaodu

Her Majesty wishes to personally express her thanks for allowing Cœurlois humanitarian aid to be sent to besieged locations. This embassy will draft a list of doctors, nurses and other staff within the coming days. The Prime Minister has also expressed a willingness to dispatch a special envoy to Yujin to broker a cease fire in order to begin peaceful negotiations.

Also our government is willing to send humanitarian aid to Yujin in the form of medical assistance, food packages and medical supplies. When needed, we are also willing to help with the evacuation of foreigners from Yujin.

BREAKING: Gunfire Erupts in Zhenjing
STN Siyang

STN Siyang has received reports of ongoing battles in the Imperial capital of Zhenjing as numerous services have been disrupted and martial law has been declared. After months of encroaching gun battles by Communist rebel forces, Zhenjing has seen a significant period of peace following the collapse of the Communist rebellion in Mao and the isolation of Communist forces in Xinhai and Qiangzuo. It is unclear who is behind the current fighting in the capital, or how many casualties have been incurred.

More to follow.

BREAKING: Yujin Military Seizes Emperor
STN Siyang

BREAKING NEWS: Civil war hero Colonel Sha Ruidao has launched a bloody coup in the capital, seizing the state radio broadcaster, utilities, public service buildings, and surrounding numerous military units at their bases in a lightning action through the night. Fighting was reported in the Imperial Palace itself between Sha's elite chemical shock troops and the elite Imperial Guard. Numbers of casualties are currently unavailable, although witnesses report that dozens of soldiers are currently being treated at local hospitals.

Imperial military forces have apparently defeated the Palatial Guard and have captured the Emperor and the coup has effectively seized control of the city. The intent of the military in regards to the Emperor Qirui is unknown, though the Emperor remains unpopular both at home and abroad despite pushing back rebel forces and re-establishing stability over much of Yujin.

Sha Ruidao was largely responsible for breakthroughs in fighting in Mao Province as well as launching a counter-offensive that pushed the Hongmenghui back to Qiangzuo Plateau. Other than the honors afforded him for his service to the nation, little is known of the enigmatic Colonel. It is unclear who the military favors to replace the Emperor, as the ruling Dynasty provides no direct familial heirs and Emperor Qirui's uncle, the only legitimate Dynastic heir, is believed to have been sympathetic to the rebel cause.

BREAKING: Sha Captures Zhenjing
STN Siyang

State media, currently under the control of forces loyal to Colonel Sha Ruidao, released a statement earlier announcing that the Emperor had been taken under the protection of the military - those loyal to Sha - and simultaneously accused forces loyal to the Imperial War Council of sedition and treason. The statement by Sha declared that the coup had been launched to maintain the integrity of the Empire and dismantle a plot by the "warlord cliques" to partition the nation into various personal fiefdoms.

Fighting subsided towards dusk as the warlord forces were dislodged from most key locations within the city. The Imperial War Council responded to Sha's accusations by declaring that the civil war hero had gone rogue and had launched a bid to usurp the Emperor. The IWC further proclaimed that Sha himself had betrayed the confidence and integrity of the Emperor, declared the hero to be a traitor, and announced that forces loyal to the Emperor would retake the capital and bring Sha to justice.

Forces loyal to the IWC account for as much as forty percent of the Imperial military, distributed between eight main factions. It is unclear what degree of support Sha has gained from Imperial military regulars and whether or not the coup is sustainable. It is clear that the provincial governates are unlikely to declare their support for Sha while the IWC retains strong controls over local governance. It is furthermore unknown what Colonel Sha Ruidao intends to do with the captured Emperor Qirui.

Yujin Crisis: Emperor Qirui Abdicates
STN Siyang

Forces loyal to Sha Ruidao have successfully deposed the Emperor today, who announced over a radio broadcast that he would be relinquishing the throne. The former Emperor gave no clear remark as to who would succeed him in his duties and it is unclear whether or not Sha Ruidao intends to succeed the Emperor.

Colonel Sha Ruidao's forces have captured the Yujin capital of Zhenjing, known as the Imperial City, a critical location in Yujin which has been at the heart of Yujiner politics for millennia. Control of the city has often been equated with control of Yujin itself, the foundation upon which the concept of the heavenly mandate was built. Believed to be strategically weaker than the IWC forces arrayed against him, forces loyal to Sha Ruidao hope to use their total control of the Imperial City to justify the coup.

The fate of the former Emperor is unknown, though rumors in the capital suggest that the Emperor remains detained in a wing of the Palace while Sha Ruidao's forces consolidate their hold on the city and establish a number of checkpoints. IWC commanders have sworn to retaliate against Sha and retake the city, and reports from the countryside suggest that military units are gathering for a counter-attack. The IWC is scheduled to hold an emergency meeting to determine the best course of action, although they have issued a warning to the city calling on residents to take shelter or flee.

Meanwhile, shelling at the Seoran-Yujin border diminished today as artillery exchanges lowered in intensity and frequency. Neither the Hongmenghui remnant in Seora nor the Imperial military based in Mao have been able to gain the tactical advantage required to mount a sustained offensive across the riverine border, though skirmishes in the mountainous northeast of Seora continue.
