Last Troops Leave Altai

The last Talemantine forces crossed the border after a calmed withdraw over the past few weeks, as part of the ending of the war. The last of the combat troops left Altai early last week, and today the final non-combatant personnel crossed the border. The majority of the forces that remained behind after the withdraw were the medical corps responsible for the field hospitals set up in occupied territory for civilians who were caught up in the middle of the war. These forces stayed to help facilitate the hand over of these hospitals to Altaic forces and ensure that no patient would be without care. It was these troops that finally crossed back into Talemantros bringing a final end to the War with Altai.

Navy Ordered Into the Sindh Sea

Today the Imperial Talemantine Navy was dispatched into the Sea of Sindh following the announcement that the Danish government would be sending a fleet of an aircraft carrier and 24 plus destroyers to Altai and the Sindh. The Talemantine government has repeated objected to the extremely large force by the Danish Kingdom calling the force a serious threat to the national security of Talemantros and that of the independent state of Zamosca.

Government continues to restate that is objects not to the economic agreement nor the selling of war ships to Altai, nor the use of ports in the Altaic city of Dara for the Danish navy. The sole objection remains the size of the Danish contingent and that its size is threatening to national security. The Secretariat of State has been in contact with other Germanian League nations in an effort to resolve this crisis with the Danish state.

"We are looking for a comprehensive solution for both sides to that every state may be happy with the situation. The size of the Danish force is provoking a threat to Talemantros and Zamosca and we have repeatedly asked the Danish government to reduce the size of the force traveling to Altai to allow for local sensibilities." Secretary of State Carmine Gavallo stated at a press conference today.

Several carrier groups have been dispatched from their bases in Zamosca into the Sindh Sea to meet the Danish ships and to neutralize the threat to Talemantros and Zamosca posed by the planed Danish military force. The last time the state of Altai cooperated with a Germanian League/EDF state it attacked the Talemantine ally of Great Engellex at the Zadar-Istrian Islands. Now that Altai is once again cooperating with another Germanian League state, and if history repeats its self Altai will be embolden to attack again, this time a closer target of weak Zamosca. Due to this history and Altai following a similar path the Secretariat of War has raised the alert along the border and the alert of all forces in Zamosca will be moved to the highest status.

Before presenting Altai as an aggressor, the Talemantines should see in history that most, if not all Talemantine-Altaic wars were stared by an Talemantine Invasion, not only that, the Empire also has shown that it is the bully of Himyar, especially in Jurzan a few years ago. Engellex was that one that attacked Montellimar and thus the EDF. Altai, being at that time a member and ally of the federation did it's job to respect the Federation Charter and attack Engellex. So, not Altai was the aggressor. Also, the Germanian states were traditional allies of Altai, so the Talemantine Empire has no motive to be so scared of the Danish move.

The Sindh Crisis is irresponsible. Scarcely has the North-Eastern Himyari War theatre of the Great War been settled, when the conduct of the Principality of Altai again involves immediate danger of war.

Ever since the settlement of peace between Great Engellex, Talemantros and Altai, weekly news from the principality has been increasingly less favourable.

This morning I regretfully expressed my inability, to my peers in the House of Lords, to give the people of Great Engellex any satisfactory assurance of the probable preservation of peace. And as I retire from parliamentary to ministerial duty, I am confounded by the ineptitude of the principality to, for one moment, not hastily drag the powers of Europe into another war. The statement of the Altaist Foreign Minister is inexcusable and, again, lacking a single factual sentence.

As Europe now stands face to face with the imminent danger of a conflict manifesting at the will of a corrupt and most inferior state – the Principality of Altai – I will announce to the Imperial Parliament that I intend to introduce a bill that will suspend all interactions and engagements with the principality on need of greater investigation.

The Altaist Ambassador in Dulwich has twenty-four hours to vacate the embassy premises and leave Great Engellex.​

Danmark is a moderate and independent member of the Germanian League and should be seen as an opportunity rather than a threat. Altai has expressed it's desire to our government to integrated into the larger community of slavic nations - a process which would ultimately require some degree of normalization of it's relations with Talemantros. Both the processes are endangered by overly hostile responses to a comparatively innocuous development.

Troops to Increase in Zamosca​ The Secretariat of War announced a plan to increase the Talemantine troops in Zamosca to a total of 50,000 men in the newly independent state of Zamosca. The interim government of Zamosca asked the Talemantine Military for more troops to alleviate the pressure on their current civil authorities in maintaining law and order until a proper police force can be trained. Currently there is a division of the Vaalbaran Guard stationed along the Zamoscan-Altaic Border, and the rest of the Legion will be sent to Zamosca. The legion sent is trained in counterinsurgency and will be able to reestablish law and order in Zamosca and train the new State Police.

Navy Continues with Submarines​ The Navy continues with the construction of four new missile submarines for the Imperial navy. This is part of a retrofit of the Imperial Navy to increase the navy's submarine force. The renewed attention comes after the navy's victory over the Altaic navy during the 4th Altaic-Talemantine war, which saw the valiant submarine fleet protect the Imperial capital ships from the enemy.

Emperor Appoints New Ambassadors​ After recent events in Talemantine foreign policy there has been a recent shake up of the Talemantine missions around the globe. The Sindh Crisis, over the Danish intrusion into Himyari politics, caused many in Talemaniki to refocus on Germania and a renewed interest after major Talemantine projects in Germania were blocked. The point of this refocusing has been on Christiansborg following the cooperation between the Talemantine and Danish foreign departments. The Talemantine mission to Danmark will be upgraded to a full Embassy and will be headed by Prince Gavino, Duke of Reate, the nephew of the emperor. The other new appointment was Prince Beniamino, Despot of Byzacena, as the new Envoy to Potenza as relations between the two states continue to grow. Potenza is Talemantros' cultural brothers on the continent as the other major Tiburan state of Solaren finds themselves under foreign occupation. Potenza is viewed as a new market for Talemantine goods. Prince Beniamino was able to open up Cidonia to Talemantros and made the Himyari state a close ally of the empire.

Ecumenical Patriarch Travels to Rovopolis​ Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew traveled to Rovopolis to attend the enthronment ceremony of Davizzo Vitti as the new Archbishop of Rovopolis. The Archbishop of Rovopolis is the leader of the Orthodox Church in Altai and Zamosca. Army Welcomes Kyivans Back​ Following the abandonment of the base by the Kyivan military, due to rising cost, and the Talemantine Military took over construction and maintenance, the Kyivans were welcomed back with open arms. After a restructuring of the operations of the base in Western Talemantros and closer cooperation with the Talemantine Army and local organizations they were able to bring the costs down to managable levels. The Army looks forward to closer cooperation between the Talemantine and Kyivan militaries.

De Vesci Industries Moves Forward with Gallan Pipeline​ Following the scrapping of the RuVe Pipeline earlier this year, De Vesci Industries immediately began negotiations with the states of Galla on the construction of a new pipeline plan for the region. Galla is one of the main customers of De Vesci petroleum and the company has been wanting a better passage than through the increasingly treacherous Long Sea and a pipeline through Galla was the best route possible. The pipeline will dramatically cut down on the transit costs as the shipping distance to the coasts of Galla is now halved as well as eliminating much of the additional security cost of traveling through the Long Sea. De Vesci Industries has already got the green light from the involved state and only the final details have needed to be completed in a few states. Stretching from Engellex to Potenza, and from Liege through Montelimar, the line effects all of Northern Galla. Also De Vesci Industries has secured the special rights from the Engellexic government to begin construction in occupied Montelimar.

These rights will allow De Vesci Industries to begin construction in Montelimar while the war is still ongoing with the fronts focused on the area around Fontaine-Harcourt. The section on Fontaine-Harcourt will be the last section to be constructed when the conflict in the area has ended. This will also call fro a retrofit of a section of the Fontaine-Harcourt port to prepare for the increase of oil tankers servicing the port city. De Vesci Industries also announced that it will be partnering with local entities in the construction of oil refineries in Engellex and Potenza. This will allow for the refining of crude oil on site in these countries, and expand the refining power of De Vesci Industries. These refineries will create a permanent increase in jobs in these states in addition to the temporary jobs during construction. While construction on the Montelimar and Engellexic sections are to begin this week, the DVI representatives are expected to travel to Potenza and Liege to finalize the plan.

Empire Signs Defense Pact with Corsica​ Today the Empire signed a lasting defense pact between the Talemantine Empire and the Holy Kingdom of Corsica. The agreement comes as the kingdom has faced the brunt of a former terrorist organization known as the "St. Micheal's Sword" has returned to enforce a reactionary Catholicism upon the largely catholic nation. The organization kidnapped and murdered the former Corsican Prime minister and cousin of the reigning King and then five single gunmen shot up the former Prime Minister's funeral. Many have accused the small island nation of having a collapse of law and order due to these localized, isolated events when that is the farthest thing from the true and law and order remains fully intact in the entire Kingdom.

The defense pact is expected to help ease the relationship between the Empire and Corsica, especially as the Kingdom has come under increasing fire of perceived reports that society and order completely collapsed, including threats of war against the island Kingdom. The Defense Pact with Corsica means that the Empire will defend the island nation against all that wish to make war against the Kingdom, including states that may have been on good terms with the Empire. Besides the guarantee that the Empire will aid the Kingdom, the defense pact includes the full use of Corsican ports by the Talemantine navy and the permanent stationing of several Talemantine carrier fleets in Corsica. The Pact also has the stationing of the XVII Legion of the Talemantine Expeditionary force in Corsica, totaling 50,000 Talemantien soldiers in the island nation. The Legion will be stationed North of the Holy State of Tibur and near the Capital city of Corsica.

Corsica in the eyes of the imperial government has been of key interest for Talemantros. The Empire has long complained about the increasing security costs of traveling in the Long Sea, which has put a strain on Talemantine shipping and spurred the desire for increase pipelines for Talemantine oil through Galla and Germania. Basing operations out of Corsica will make it easier for the Imperial navy to protect Talemantine shipping in the Long Sea. The government also eyes the future relations that can spawn from this military cooperation and those are further economic partnerships. Corsica stands at the crossroads between the Sindh, Long Sea, and Lorraine Bays making Corsica a lucrative prize for Talemantine goods and economic prosperity.

Empire to Sign New Trade Agreement With Zalonarus​ Carmine Gavallo, Vice-Chancellor and Talemantine Secretary of State, left this afternoon to travel to Lozinsk, Zalonarus to finalize and sign a Free Trade Agreement with the Slavic state. Zalonarus has been an area of interest for expansion of Talemantine economic partnerships in a region anchored by Talemantine ally in Kyiv. Zalonarus also is home to many resources that hold significant value for Talemantine companies and interests back home. It is expected that the trade agreement will overview specific industries that are vital to the economic partnership between the two nations. The agreement will lower the trade barriers on the mining and exportation of rare earth minerals found in the Bergamo Mountains of Southern Talemantros. These minerals contain the rare elements that are vital to the Zalonarusan high tech industry and allows many of the technical products to function and operate. It would also remove barriers for the mining and importation of Uranium ore. Uranium ore is expected to become more important to Talemantine progress as the Navy continues is round the clock construction of four new Nuclear Powered submarines in the beginning phases of the retro fit of the navy. Overall this agreement when signed is expected to be profitable for both nations as it opens up both the Talemantine and Zalonarusan markets to each other and grant each state access to resources that are found in both nations. Secretary Gavallo is expected to sign the agreement short after arriving in the Slavic state and a meeting with the Zalonarus officials.

Senate Convenes in Midyear Session​ Most are familiar with this bi annual tradition. Senators of the Talemantine Senate migrate to Talemaniki to hold a short session to review reports by its committees and propose possible legislation. Usually the Senate doesn't remain in session for more than a few weeks to hear the reports and review proposals for acts of government as well as make new appointments to the committee leadership before adjourning until the end of the year. The most anticipated Committee report is the Judiciary Committee which will announce the list of appeals cases from the courts the committee will hear and decide on between now and the next Senate session. Navy Orders Fleets Into the Kalahari Sea​ The War Secretariat sent the Fleets of the imperial navy out into the Kalahari Sea in reported naval exercises. The purpose of the exercises are stated to be the practicing of new strategies for the navy's new roles in maintaining the security of shipping lanes in the Kalahari Sea. The exercises will also allow the navy to incorporate techniques and strategies that were learned during the 4th Altaic-Talemantine war that saw the Imperial Navy take a victorious step into the waves of the Kalahari and the decimation of the Altaic navy. The Talemantine navy has been in a partnership with the, Engellexic, Danish and Kyivan forces in the Kalahari.

Navy on Schedule With New Submarines​ Navy spokesman states that the projection for the Empire's new Nuclear Powered missile submarines remains on tract. The Navy has contracted out to a Kyivan company, the name of this company remains classified, to build and construct the nuclear reactors for the engines of the four submarines. These new submarines will give the Talemantine Navy expansive firepower able to stronger protect the territory of the empire and its allies around the globe. Secretary of War Fabian Merici hailed the new project as one that would "show the power of the Talemantine state and our heritage ans the last surviving heirs of Tibur." Armed Forces Remain on Alert Status​ The forces of the Third Army Group, awarded medals for its valor during the Altaic war, remains on the highest Alert ready for any impending attack by Altaic forces. The Army Group has been on alert status since the beginning of war game in Altai, with the forces of Frescania and Jurzan holding forces in Altai, both states which the State Secretariat considered enemies of the Empire. The military has remained on alert as the relations between Talemantros and Altai continue to deteriorate further after the Principality refuses the demand of the Empire to bring itself back into compliance with the Treaty of Talemaniki. The Government repeats its demand for compliance by the Altaic state.
