While the Kingdom respects the sovereignty of Bantyr, it cannot and will not sit idly by while a nation so flagrantly offends all that is decent and moral in civilised society. Should this law pass, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Parliament of the Kingdom of Brettaine will have no choice but to enact economic sanctions and a full embargo on products from Bantyr.

Controversial Bill Defeated In The Senate

In the Bantyric Senate today one of the most controversial bills in senate history was defeated by only one vote.A massive phone and letter writing campaign was put forth by many Bantyric religious and ethics organizations in hopes of convincing senators to vote against the bill. The bill itself would have legalized the experimentation on human prisoners convicted of heinous crimes against the people such as rape and murder and allowed for the building of facilities to create several dangerous chemical weapons that were previously and still illegal in Bantyr. Letters and communiqués were also received from international entities such as the nations of Coronado, Carentania and Guiana as well as a letter from the Holy See protesting the bill. The bill was scrapped and is now being rewritten to exclude the experimentation on human prisoners. The Concordance Consortium released a statement expressing their extreme disappointment at senate’s inability to pass this controversial bill.

“We are extremely disappointed that this bill, as controversial as it may have been, did not pass in the Senate. The fact that religious organizations are allowed to have a say in this matter is troubling at best and shows that this secular government is still prone to the wants of false religions. This bill would have helped us advance medical science in ways unimaginable, helping us create medicines and surgical techniques with a speed that cannot be obtained in animal trials. The out cry of human rights advocates is misplaced, they would defend those who committed most heinous crimes against this state, rather than help those who suffer from diseases yet to be cured, those who fumble with primitive prosthetic devices and those who die but could have been saved by a radically new surgery or medicine. Engellexic Queen Visits Bantyr, New Trade Negotiations Coming Along Splendidly

The Beautiful Queen Charlotte of Engellex graced the shores of Bantyr with her presence earlier this week as she attended a conference on creating better trade between our two nations in Bangleann. When her majestic ship, the H.E.M.S. Sovereign steamed into port escorted by the Engellexic Royal Navy and elements of Bantyr’s illustrious First Fleet. President Allen Gordon joined the Queen on her ship for a multiple course dinner and he presented her with a gift: the claymore of the last Bantyric King. The next day the Queen and her Trade Delegation along with the President made their way toward Bangleann to begin the trade conference. The Engellexic Trade Delegation and the Bantyric Board of Trade and Economics met and drafted several memorandums that were then signed by both the President and the Queen bathed in the sudden flashes of the media’s cameras. During the conference the queen iterated her desire to keep Bantyr and Engellex from dividing but rather uniting to further both nations goals, the President also echoed this desire, pledging to do whatever he could to make it a reality. The conference created a few commissions dealing with trade and economics such as an Economic-Industrial Commission to facilitate cooperation in the fields of economics, science and technology as well as creating the Industrial Partnership committee to oversee expansion of industry in both nations. The trade conference also made fit to see that trade between the two nations will increase to $20 billion by the year 2016. Sadly our time with the queen was short lived as she left on the fifth of July to attend to other royal business however the Trade Delegation stayed behind as the conference continues within Bangleann. In the public spectrum opinion of the Queen and her visit was high and the President’s approval rating receive a two point boost and is now hovering at 70%.

We do not recognize the rights of child molesters, murderers, or moral creeps as remotely equal to the Enhanced Defence Apparatus of the Bantyric Patriotic Nation. Solaris Preemptive Strike Shows EDF's Inherent Weakness

The Bantyric military's Supreme Commander William Reid came out for a rare comment on the military happenings in our world, mostly on the EDF war with the Solaris church.

"It's pathetic, they are showing the world how weak and slow they really are, they took so long to mobilize and literally made their movements viewable to the entire world. This war deserved a quick and brutal strike, I don't know what the EDF hoped to accomplish by being so conservative but what it got them is a war that will probably now last for a few years and put many lives at stake. I find it impossible that the EDF didn't foresee the use of chemical weapons in this war by the Solaris Church and now their soldiers and their cities are in danger because of their archaic approach to this conflict. All the power in the world is not going to stop a fanatical enemy if you worry about things like protecting enemy civilian populations and taking prisoners. The EDF has vastly more advanced equipment compared to the Solaris Church and this preemptive strike just shows the inability of EDF commanders to utilize these technologies and assess the situation reliably. It also shows just how set in their ways EDF commanders are, they think they can't be beaten and that they are invincible, well I will tell you this thoughts like that lose wars and empower outnumbered enemies. So far the response to this preemptive strike has been weak just like most EDF engagements politically or militarily in recent years. They aren't the power we thought their Alliance was and they are doing a horrible job of changing the view of weakness by dilly dallying around with Solaren." - Supreme Commander William Reid, Bantyric Military.


Eugenics Plan Unveiled

Up for vote in the Bantyric Senate is another controversial bill that will have a much more widespread effect on the Bantyric people. The President unveiled his plan with support of his own party, the Conservatives, to enact a bill that will create a Eugenics plan for the people and future citizens of Bantyr. In the bill is a plan for forced sterilizations for people who mental deficiencies and other complications they inherited at birth, plans for automatic abortions of children with severe defects, optional guidelines for maintaining racial purity, testing for hereditary diseases before allowing a marriage to go through, family planning for parents ready to have children, and a study on the overall health of Bantyr's citizenry.

The President and supporting senators say that if enacted this bill will save the Bantyric economy and government from having to spend copious amounts of money on taking care of people who were born with complications that quote "could be easily weeded out through selective breeding and sterilization of problem peoples." Dr. Leslie Gray of the Concordance Consortium made a rare appearance outside the Senate Chambers in Bangleann supporting this new bill.

THE Commonwealth is skeptical of Bantyric viability to begin with, be it economically, culturally, or even genetically, yet Cantigny clearly recognizes the virtues of these Bantyric Senators. The Republic of Bantyr is a Nation plagued by the issues and conflicts imposed upon it by its venomous neighbors, as perpetuated by the blissful ignorance of the Northern Council. It is therefore fiscally, perhaps even morally, responsible that Bantyr would consider preventing the mentally and physically handicapped from entering a dismal existence in which their misery might be amplified.

Cantigny is not so bold as to suggest Capitalism, Communism, or any Ism is to blame for the Bantyric plight, though we are most certain that bold action and leadership is required to protect what is left of the Bantyric Nobility.

The Kingdom of Suionia finds it horribly offensive and blatantly devoid of factual historical reference when you as the representative of your nation claims "blissful ignorance" of the Northern Council upon the blight of the people of Bantyr. Bantyr is a nation which owes us a debt and has failed to oblige itself to owe up to these debts. While not an official Northern Council position, the Kingdom of Suionia has pledged to help the people of Bantyr should it owe up to her debts to the Northern Council nations. We've even suggested a century long repayment plan with modest interest payments. All attempts for a peaceful and fruitful negotiation with the Bantyric peoples have been rebuked by her Government. So the suffering of the people of Bantyr lay solely upon the shoulders of her politicians. As such, the Kingdom of Suionia alongside the Northern Council will continue to maintain a policy which maintains an economic strangle hold upon the Bantyric state until her Government recognizes fault for the most recent Bantyric Economic Crisis and repays the assets stolen via foreign investment. Our embargoes will continue and companies which operate in Bantyr are still refused entrance to Northern Council markets.

We find it arguably ignorant, but obviously depressing that a beckon of Southern civilization could so blatantly poke needles into the backs of the Suionian people, many who have suffered economic ruin due to the careless actions of both the former and the current Bantyric state that apparently your Government has refused to disavow as not only corrupt but also claim as an innocent victim in Northern affairs. We find this presumption shown by your actions and words as saddening but most of all disrespectful of the Suionian people and as such, until a reversal of Vesper's viewpoint is stated, we can only continue to be non-cooperative in the joint security of Oceanic affairs as there is no point in lying in bed with a diplomatic backstabber.

We hope that this viewpoint of ours is not in error, and if so we sincerely apologize, but Cantigny's position on this matter must be concrete and must be made clearer to my Government else the words of this statement must continue to hold weight in our bi-lateral relations.​

THE Commonwealth is not of the persuasion that general statements concerning an entire alliance are absolute assessments of individual Nations within that alliance. It is though mildly distressing that the Suionian Empire would prefer to let this racial obsession against the Republic of Bantyr affect the factual-historical prosperity between the Commonwealth of Cantigny and its immediate Suionian neighbors in Oceania.

None-the-less Vesper is not specifically interested in lying in bed with Suionia in any context. It can be remarked that the existence of joint-security measures between Vesper's Commonwealth and Riksdag's Empire have been impaired by great geographic distances, despite the dawn of modern technology. Vesper chalks these factual-historical instances as indicative of the prioritization placed on certain places, in this instance Nations of the Northern Council, over Oceanic Colonies & Nations. It must now be affirmed that as an entirety the Republic of Bantyr and the Suionian Oceanic Colonies are disassociated by an assortment of obvious factors: which Cantigny would draw upon if the True Peace was discounted again by the Courts of Old Europe.

When referencing the pitfalls encountered by Bantyr, the Commonwealth hardly suggests historical or contemporary innocence in the Republic's actions. In the way Suionians were a seafaring people, the Bantyric gene pool spewed out a race of brash yet noble berserkers filled with sincere pride. When pride dictates prejudice, however, logic is undermined by the blind lust to shame ones opponent; the Northern Council has perpetuated ignorance blissfully, while Bantyr has suffered hand-over-hand, perhaps deservedly, for its own blatant ignorance.

Cantigny has not directly insulted Suionia verbally, nor worked against it physically, therefore the future of relations between our Nations is entirely up to Her Excellency Malin Enstrom, and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. We hope and pray that a positive outcome is reached which guarantees renewed faith and fidelity in foreign relations.

Eugenics Bill Passed

At the dissapointment of many religious groups and human rights advocates the Bantyric Senate has passed the Eugenics bill and will be soon be holding a contest on which corporations will have the pleasure of helping the government in it's goal to creating a better humanity. The first sterilizations are expected to begin within the prison system and the government has taken to reviewing the cases of those on death row to begin an expediting of executions and release the burden on the budget. Homosexuals, sexual deviants, the psychotic, the mentally retarded, those born with diseases and defects, mental and physical are all included in the proposed sterilization plan. The government is expecting to do most of this work in cooperation with the private medical sector instead of by the entire government itself which would currently be fiscally impossible.

"Many people think that we are going to being exterminating these people, I tell you this, that will not happen, we are simply sterilizing them to stop others from having to be born with these defects and suffering for their entire lives coping with them. All those who currently live with defects shall still live after we complete our procedures, they just won't be able to reproduce. In doing so we shall make sure that only those who are fit to live in this world will live and those who could not cope or survive in this world will be given the benefit of an early death rather than a lifetime of suffering. - Surgeon General Liam McNolty

The eugenics plan is expected to save the Bantyric economy hundreds of millions make insurance rates lower and create jobs in doing so to cope with the massive need to carry out the plan.

In Other news

- Corporate tax rates to be cut to ten percent from twenty five percent in hopes of bringing in more foreign investment and stirring growth in Bantyric companies.

- In Port Fiona citizens burn replicas of viking longboats in celebration over Celtic victory over the Viking invader, thousands of replica Suionian, Aren, Batavian, Vistrasian and Skanske Statsunion flags, all nations of the Northern Council, were burned during the celebrations as well.

- In Bangleann President Gordon spoke about the devaluation of the Northern Dollar and the unfortunate policies of the NC that basically create a self embargo upon itself. He also called the ceasing of Carentanian trade unfortunate and hopes that the measures of his administration to make Bantyr more lucrative for foreign investors will sop up any damage that comes from Carentania's decision. He also reiterated that he would not pay back the NC for the assets nationalized by the Murdoch administration, even if it was over a century, likening the Suionian deal to modern day slavery.

- The Concordance Consortium and Weylin-Teagan Corporation are now tied for first place as Bantyr's largest corporation.

The Constitutional State can understand the general sentiment of seeking to prevent the spread of severe hereditary diseases that would cause unacceptable suffering for the affected, recognizing the supremacy of the rights of the individual over those of prospective parents. The Constitutional State can however do nothing but express its non-acceptance of measures aimed at the widespread sterilization of homosexuals, so called sexual deviants and other groups deemed to be 'unworthy life' by the Bantyr state. The use of sterilization measures as a method of criminal punishment is especially repulsive, and the Constitutional State condemns it in the strongest terms.

Perhaps the Nordic Majority in Cantigny should focus more on being Cantignian rather than identifying with groups back in the North. The Government in Bangleann did not sponsor the Port Fiona celebration rather it was the choice of the Port Fiona Metropolitan City Council and our belief in the freedom of speech and expression to allow the flag burning due to the ongoing trade war and political differences that the Bantyric people have been observing between our Republic and the Northern Council. Your government's grievance has been filed with the PFMCC on behalf of the International Affairs office in Bangleann. If it is the Foreign Office's wish to decide whether or not to 'squander' resources on maintaining or investing in Bantyr over the actions of our patriotic citizens or because we may have nothing in common than we shall respect that choice, however I personally feel it would be within your best interest to maintain ties just as we feel it is in our best interest to maintain ties with Cantigny. Whatever the choice, Bantyr has followed Cantigny's campaign for True Peace in Oceania and we here in Bangleann can only say: Forward Cantigny!
