Ivernia's ministry of Foreign Affairs should actually check our legal system before saying such outrageous lies. The Emperor has no authority over the military in or out of Valkany. The Ministry of Defence is responsible for military affairs. The Ministry of Defence is not within the Emperor's jurisdiction bu rather within that of the Prime Minister. When it comes to the colonies all military decisions are within the jurisdiction of the Minister of Colonial Affairs. We hope that you will see reason soon and restore relations. we will not proceed to enforce any sanctions on you, as we are sure you will see our honesty. and for the last time these persons have to go through our judiciary first before they can be extradited. The High Kingdom of Ivernia hates to be the one to break the news to Valkany, but Valkany is an Empire the last time Ivernia checked. That means your Head of State is the Emperor. That means whatever way you attempt to dress it up by saying he has 0 control over the national military, the Emperor as Head of State bears a level of responsibility for the actions of the state. A level that should be investigated by international investigators, alongside the investigation of high ranking members of military and governance who would also face trial. The fact that Valkany is choosing to conveniently ignore the fact that their Emperor was the Head of State during the Eastern Cape genocide for the purposes of a quick and easy trial, which keeps the important players in the Empire safe and dry, is why the High Kingdom of Ivernia is freezing all international relations we might have had between our two nations.

A jury of Valkanian & Ivernian peoples sounds noble, but is a moot point considering the fact that Ivernia was promised first and foremost the reigns of the International Tribunal alongside members of the Tripartite Agreement. Ivernia along with the members of the international community should be deciding the ins and outs of the Courtroom. The Empire of Valkany should NOT be deciding the rules of it's own trial.

Issue #41 - Saturday, February 22nd 1954

Several defendants attempt to stop extradition! Valkanian Military intervenes and crashes monarchist coup! Heavy protests in favor of the extradition! Large Communist protests in Vostok!

Several defendants in key government positions attempted to stop their extradition to Ivernia. However Lord Regent Grand Duke Anthony XVII and Lord Johann Odessof blocked any politic attempts of the Emperor and other officials to sabotage the trial. When monarchist paramilitaries attempted a coup the troops of the both the army and navy under the leadership Imperial Field Marshal Lord Carolus Von Svenskedren and High Admiral Themistocles Spirtzof intervened cutting them off from the government quarter and dissolving them. A number of arrests have been made but the situation in the capital is expected to stabilize. At the same time a large group of supporters of the Communist Party of Valkany protested in Vostok, the Communists' stronghold during the December revolt, in remembrance of the Communist Surrender that happens on this same date nearly 30 years ago. Heavy protests also took place in Zessionsford in support of the extradition. A large anti-monarchy sentiment has been growing with some protesters even raising the banner of the sort lived Republic of Valkany on several government buildings before it was taken down by police officers The protests were however calm, without use of force by either side, as a large number of the protesters had brought their families with them.

Although the Ivernian Government is right about the extradiction of the people suspected of the genocide in the Eastern Cape from a principal point of view, it would hav been better to remain pragmatic in this issue. As we see it now, the governmental institutions of Valkany have been decapitated with the extradition of the Emperor and the Government, and this decapitation of the governmental institutions is currently leading to civil unrest in Valkany, which benefits nobody but only creates an additional problem. We call upon Ivernia to look for a solution in which the suspects either can continue to govern Valkany while being trialed, or get the time to install a stable provisional government in Valkany for either the duration of the trial or until a new government has been installed after elections.

In any case, this should be considered a lesson for the future.

Issue #41 - Saturday, February 22nd 1954

Failed Communist Putsch in Vostok, Krovka & Zessionsford! Empress attempts to gain permanent power and block extradition! Filed Marshall intervenes and arrests Empress!

Today at 3:20 PM armed Communist & Socialist forces gathered in Vostok and Krovka and attempted to establish an independent communist state. In Vostok the Communists tried to march on the local military base believing the troops would willingly join them. Instead the troops opened fire, killing 12 people and scattering the rest. The leaders of the Putsch have been arrested. In Krovka the Freikorps defeated a group of armed workers that tried to capture government buildings. A manhunt ensued near the Krovkan river, all over the grand Valkanian rockies, during which most of the rebels were captured. a few are still ta large but there are rumors they will have surrendered by tomorrow night. Back in Zessionsford, the capital city endured two failed Coup d' etats today. At first members of Leftisrt Paramilitary groups attempted a coup but were crushed by the reserve army which had already been mobilized after a tip by ONI. At the same time the Empress attempted to enforce martial law and gain supreme command in a last effort to block the extradition but forces under Field Marshall Lord Carolus Von Svenskedren intervened and overthrew her. The Empress has been temporarily relieved from her duties, and the Martial Law has been declared Emergency Lord Regent until the situation has stabilized.

The Government of Valkany.

The Crowned Government cannot but hope that out of this tremendous carnage good is to result. I assume, and I ought to assume, that Imperial Valkany will not render herself obnoxious to the charges made by regional neighbours and partners when Valkany comes to the adjustment of the difficult question of what should be her future. If Imperial Valkany does proceed in that buccaneering spirit which she proceeded in with respect to the Eastern Cape Colony, only far too recently, the censures of those commanding absolute extradition will be deserved. But let us hope for better things.

It may be possible when the tensions of the Gothic Sea Region are at an end there may be established between the Nation-States of the Gothic Sea and Valkany such relations as will do justice to the desired stability and prosperity of the region, and give Valkany a proper and respected position in Europe. That, to be achieved, the Crowned Government believes, is a problem to be settled in Valkany domestically; and the Crowned Provinces will adopt the position of urging interested foreign parties not to by act, or even by word, offer any obstacle to the solution of the problem.

Now, the Crowned Government urges Imperial Valkany to recognise the necessary positive adjustment to the problem; Valkany ceases to aspire to be an Imperial Power - that is, in the sense of endeavouring to command an imperial realm within the Gothic Sea and Beyond - I must strongly pursue that it does appear to the Crowned Government as part of the transition to a stable and prosperous future, that the Imperial Family relinquish the titles permitting their Imperialism over Valkany. That would signal the necessary commitment to a changed direction by Valkany to the European community.

Since that Valkany has nothing to sustain her against those Nation-States adverse to it excepting your own policy and strength, and undoubtedly there has been a tendency on the part of the Revolutionary Defence Treaty Organisation to aggression, it would be intelligent for the Imperial Household and Government to accept the democratic will that will come to define this century.

Monarchy Abolished! Former Imperial Royal Family forced to relinquish titles to foreign colonial expansion! Elections for Constitutional Assembly! Massive popular movement in support of the New Republic!

Today at 4:30 PM the Imperial Field Marshall and the Imperial Lord Regent announced the abolition of the Monarch and the establishment of a republic in Valkany! The Imperial-Royal family has been forced to renounce and abandon all titles and rights of offshore Colonial Expansion while the Provisional Emergency Government has announced elections for a Constitutional Assembly, which will be tasked with drafting and voting for or against a New Constitution! While the Monarchy has been abolished a Referendum has been also announced to solidify this decision! The current anti-monarchy sentiment in Valkany suggests that the outcome is obvious! However the New Republic will still be called the Empire of Valkany (Valkanian: Der Reich Dow Valkany). At the same time mass demonstrations in favor of the Military Revolution and the proclamation of the New Republic have taken place in all of the country's major cities, even including Dimitrisburg, the home-city of the nation's Royal Family!

Issue #43 - Tuesday, February 24th 1954

Constitutional Assembly Elected! Assembly considers Crowned Republic! Defendants temporarily recalled by Constitutional Assembly! Temporary government calls for national unity and international neutrality!

A constitutional assembly has been elected by the Valkanian public and is currently undertaking the task of forming a new constitution for Valkany. While the country's monarchy has failed most of the public after recent events in the Eastern Cape both the Assembly and Valkany's people do not wish to see the Crown striped of all power whatsoever mainly because of Historical reasons and the need to preserve national unity. The Assembly has also temporarily recalled the Defendants of the Eastern Cape War Crimes Trial. The sudden leave of some of the country's most prominent and important persons left a power gap that the recent instability and crisis have made evident. The defendants will be returned to Ivernia once the situation has normalized and a new constitution has been approved and ratified. At the same time the temporary government has called for national unity and international neutrality on the matter, while also considering to request an enlargement of Valkany's humanitarian role in the Eastern Cape in hopes to repair the damage that the Crown brought to the Former Colony, crimes which brought deep disappointment and humiliation to the Valkanian population and were one of the main reasons for the publicly supported military coup.

Announcer: Thank you for tuning in once more,a s today we have the Field Marshall Lord Carolus Von Svenskedren with us along with the representative of the recently elected Constitutional Assembly. Now Mr. Field Marshall what was the reason for the coup? Was it a desire to see a Valkanian Republic or a desire to ensure that the Empress stayed off the Emperor's throne?

Field Marshall: If anyone knew more about me they would know I'd be the first to oppose an outright abolition and trial of the Monarchy. The Monarchs have offered a lot to Valkany and without them what kind of an Empire would we be? But Empress Ingeborg is not a Valkanian. She is a foreigner, and while she may come from a very friendly nation she has no right to the throne of Zessionsford. Of course she was only to sit on the throne for a limited amount of time but when she took measures to ensure that she would prolong that time it was obvious she had to be relieved of her duties. Our coup was aimed at ensuring that she stayed off the throne. It was also aimed at ensuring the defendants returned home so that we could organize a proper temporary government until they returned instead of that fiasco we have now.

Announcer: So Valkany isn't going to be a republic?

Field Marshall: Yes and no. We are considering a crowned republic, a form of constitutional monarchy similar to that of Lisse where the monarch only serves a ceremonial role. In today's democratic world empowered monarchs have no place and reason to exist.

Announcer: I see. Mr representative, what is the constitutional assembly's stance on the matter?

Representative: We agree on the stance of the Field Marshall; this is not the time for a full republic but rather the time for modernization. After all from what the Emperor had told me once that he aimed at enacting these changes himself at some point. We'll be able to give you more details once the defendants including the Emperor have returned.

Announcer: Indeed. Now back to the Eastern Cape what is your stance on the matter of the EKZA force being illegally apprehended by Etnaean troops?

Field Marshall: We aimed to recall those troops home soon ourselves. We had seen a negative reaction to our humanitarian aid mission in the cape. If the ICD doesn't want us to help them why should we waste manpower in doing so? However we will not tolerate illegal acts. These men will be shipped home by our ships. ALL OF THEM! We have negotiated with the temporary government and they have allowed us to put the four troops responsible for the EKZA incident on trial in our own courts.

Announcer: I see. Back to mainland Valkany what are your views on the international reaction and the attempted communist coup?

Field Marshall: Well I think the communist coup was an opportunist action in no way justified, that only served to weaken our nation. However we will not unleash a crusade on the left. All leftist troops, including their leaders, who let down their arms were allowed to return home safely without any form or fear of prosecution. And has worked; all 2,500 communist usurpers have let their arms down and returned home. On the international reaction I think it's completely justified. we would be worried too if similar things happened to a neighbor nation, or any nation for that matter. But I am confident that once stability returns, something that will happen very soon, the situation will normalize.

Emperor to remain ceremonial head of state! EKZA recalled from Eastern Cape! Defendants return to valkany! Regent government to be formed!

Today at 3:30 PM the Constitutional Assembly and Provisional Government announced that, after negotiations, they were now surrendering power to the parliament, casual crowned government and the Emperor. The defendants including the Emperor, had arrived to Valkany earlier on this same day. The Assembly announced that the country is now a Crowned Republic with the Crown only serving ceremonial roles and the actual publicly elected government having all executive power. The country will, however, still be called Der Reich Dow Valkany, or the Empire of Valkany in Great Englexian. The government has announced, through the mouth of the Prime Minister that it will form a temporary regent government to take control of the country during the trial of the defendants in Ivernia. "Last time our rush decision brought instability, international worries and a small civil war in the form of multiple coups. This time we'll be prepared and everything will function properly while we're gone." said the Prime Minister during a public address. In other news the government has recalled the EKZA civilian officer force form the Eastern Cape. The force is expected to have returned to Valkany by the end of the day among the HIVMS February.
