The Paris embassy has not been closed. Rather, a small staff has remained. It would be dangerous to cut off communication, especially at this time.

As major population centers exist only twelve of your kilometers from the border, the Meribian Soviet Armed Forces can withdraw no further than six miles.

Foreign Office

As long as there is a proper demilitarized zone in the immediate vicinity of the Border-zone, we appreciate the Meribian act.

Dep. FM's to visit Hajr & Anbat, in attempt to strengthen ties with Muslim world

Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of Anbat

In regards to this news edition we wish to most politely take note of Anbat's grouping among the Muslim world in the headline referred to above, and note that even though Anbat possesses a large and wellbeing community of Muslims, the majority of our citizens are of various Christian denominations.

The Holy See is surpised a Court has to decide on a matter that must be taken for granted and asks the Belmonti government for more details. We cannot comprehend why this matter had to be taken to the supreme court, as the opposite is in total contradiction with everuthing Belmont stands for.

The ruling only ensures that everyone is free to display any symbol of their faith and that no one may ostracize people for exhibiting any outward sign of their religion.

SLBM Test deemed a success

[img2]albumid=140&pictureid=1405[/img2]
SLBM Coeur de Lion was launched from the submarine HMS Liberté, earlier today

Lille | Nord-Pas | Royaume de Belmont:

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has announced that the navy has successfully tested the SLBM Coeur de Lion. The missile, which was developed by the A&O Defense Industries, was launched from the nuclear powered submarine HMS Liberté and was deemed a success. The ISPR released several pictures and two lengthy videos, detailing the SLBM test. The test was held in the presence of Minister of Defense, Gen.(R) Jean-Charles Taugourdeau, and the Prince of Montaigne.

Development on the missile began in the early 2000s and the program cost has gone as high as several billion and a huge team of scientists was involved in the project. The missile is the brainchild of Aslam Raisani, a Belmontien of Wazistani origin, and its engines were developed by Vertille Aeronautics. The range of the SLBM Coeur de Lion remains highly classified but, experts say the missile can hit targets 7,000 miles away. According to a high placed source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the missile has MIRV capability and is nuclear capable. The navy, according to the statement, shall introduce the missile into all of its nuclear powered submarines and the missiles would greatly enhance Belmont's deterrent force.

Upon the announcement, the Army and Air-force congratulated the navy on its missile's test and announced that the nation's armed forces had to be strong in such turbulent times and Belmont's security and integrity was to be maintained at all costs. The Prime Minister also released a similar statement which praised Belmontien scientists and their efforts and the Queen said that Belmont's defense industry would be given further state funds for research and development.

The Archduchy sees this missile test as a further destabilization factor in the current political climate. With the tensions from Meribia and other areas along simular lines we feel that this test was insensitive to the minds of global stability.

Vangala condemns the Belmontien government's decision to test such dangerous, threatening weaponry at a time of heightened tensions and we suggest Paris works towards stability and peace in the region rather than aiming to intimidate its neighbours.

The test of the SLBM Coeur de Lion had been planned months in advance and the purpose of the missile is strictly that of a deterrent. No nation, anywhere, has any need to feel threatened by our armed forces and its arsenal.

The fact that the test has been planned for months is irrelevant to the security issue. The issue being raised is the careless thinking on behalf of the Belmontian government to proceed with these tests during times of heightened tension. The missile tests should have been delayed, and the greenlightin of these test further porve the Belmontian regime's insensitivity to present subjects.

Realizing the current situation in the West, we have already postponed several other tests which would have been of larger missiles and of grander scale and the SLBM test was given the go-ahead due to favorable circumstances in northern Belmont. And furthermore, Austurlander claims that Belmont is insensitive to global security issues are ridiculous.

Vertille unveils new generation of fighters

[img2]albumid=140&pictureid=1409[/img2]
VA's new stealth fighter jet unveiled yesterday

Paris | Royaume de Belmont:

Vertille Aeronautics (VA), the nation's largest aeronautics company, unveiled its newest aircraft. Called the KMH - 22 by the company, the aircraft is the first Belmontien aircraft to be classified as a fifth generation fighter. The fighter, which costs an astronomical 177.5 million Francs, will be presented to the international community at the Hajri sponsored IMEX exhibition. The fighter, was primarily designed as an air superiority fighter, but has additional capabilities that include ground attack, electronic warfare, and signals intelligence roles. The airforce has also shown great interest in the project, providing a large chunk of RnD funds to VA during development of the aircraft.

The Ministry of Defense has confirmed that the airforce would purchase 65 of the KMH- 22's over the next five years. The navy, as well, has shown interest in the aircraft and naval officials have said that the navy wanted VA to develop a variant of the KMH - 22 for carrier based operations. The fighter is set to form a major part of Belmont's naval and aerial fleets. Its ability to be aerially refueled means that Belmont's strategic range will be able to increase by a sizable amount.

A variant of the plane, after the exhibition, will be sold to foreign nations.

Batavians who seek asylum in Belmont will be revoked of their citizenship and forbidden to renter the People's Republic for the remainder of their lives. To seek asylum in a state supporting enemies of the government and People is akin to High Treason. We urge those Batavians seeking asylum to reconsider their asylum applications and instead return to their homeland where they will be put to good use in our proletarian society which provides for all peoples.

As earlier stated, those Bataviërs could be hosted in the Papal States as a temporally matter as long the situation in their homeland isn't clear. We see no reason, in the case they come over to Dominici, they should be revoked of their citizenship.
The Papal States hopes this proposal could take away the danger of an escalation in Belmont-Batvische relations.
