I think you can without problems expand your spot to Montelimar and unclaimed pixels. I mean, honestly, better an active player than not. Do question. The Fontaine-Harcourt principality thingy that was part of Montelimar but then was annexed by Engellex. It is in a colour separate from Montelimar and Froschwillersmthsmth on the border with nowWiese/formerWendmark. Can we suppose it's part of Cantignia as an exclave?

I'm not sure about this, maybe in a few months when I'm comfortable with my ideas and it's been a full year since Engellex/Nonsuch left.

I was looking at your OOC thread, what makes things difficult is the removal of Christianity. The spot for old Lorriane being taken because of its somewhat central location to the world and thus resembling a "Rome being the center of the world" sort of thing... plus and old link to legacy a once active player. I ask that you take a look at the thread being built for Tiburtina-Lorraine if you're open to meshing the ideas together:

I'm not sure how much you can incorporate, as obviously we're looking for a seat for the Holy See and thus a Catholic nation. In any case, if you're looking to try to incorporate all of that into your own nation, I ask that you take the discussion to the thread I just linked (to keep the map thread clean), if not then it's possible I guess to move the legacy nation idea,... as obviously I'd prefer active priority nations to have first dibs so to speak. Although in that case I worry I'm building a second nation rather than a legacy nation as the Lorraine link becomes... very thin. :3

Well my ideas were for a French Revolution that was never overthrown and this Rationalism takes over as the religion from Catholic Christianity. Easily could incorporate a Holy See idea (as it a mini-state inside that is independent). Would even be fun to have a long running RP about a majority of the citizenry that are secretly Catholic. (like the Soviet Union and Orthodox Christianity).

Well, I personally doubt rationalism would take hold with the vast majority of Frenchmen who were still largely peasants. While the French revolution changed up the agricultural sector and the class dynamics in the countryside, it did not educate the peasants, and would not have been able to effectively do so until later. Teaching a dim mind to embrace rationalism based on their own very limited understanding of natural processes, over a religious understanding, probably would have never occurred. The fact that most of those executed by the French regime became Christian martyr's would probably have resulted in great social turmoil, if not for the fact that the revolution coincided with many wars.

Granted, it managed to eliminate almost the entire population of French priests, either through forced expulsion or execution, there are enough ardent Catholic countries (Protestantism hasn't taken a real hold in this planet) neighboring the Lorraine plot that you'd probably have had a Revolutionary Wars of your own... I'm not saying I'm against the spot, just pointing out what I think you should focus on if you're set on that idea, make sure you work with country like Eiffelland and Franken to ask how they would have reacted, and try to get a good outcome of the war.

...I'm curious what Exercitum has to say about his projected map spot? I've read multiple locations (Old Lorraine/West of Potenza) ...and I'm not sure what the community would think about hosting the Papacy inside of an atheist country. I'd like some discussion on all of this... :/

I really think that Lorraine should be a prop 10 nation located in the spot the nation originally was, the Papacy should be located within Lorraine and again, be a prop 10 nation. I just think this is the best option for Europe's history and actual practicality.

And yes, Yanksy. I feel your pain in the challenge of spelling Sarmatian place names. But hey, the excellent colour makes up for it! I can wait for the correction in the next update just fine!
