We will follow the events with interest, but it would be best to follow the wishes of the people of Agderike.

The Grand Duchy asks that the government of Agderike deal with the matter not according to emotions, but in accordance with the formal monarchical protocol which all nations run by God-appointed kings and rulers obey.

LAGTING DISCUSSES A QUEEN, AMBASSADORS RECALLED

KRISTIANIA— After taking a day off to reflect on the most recent events, the Lagting organized today to respond to the various notices from abroad and begin serious discussion on finding an alternative monarch to the Danish King.

The Lagting began by giving thanks for the condolences given from various nations across the world. The Members from Jorvik, Olof Halvor Bjørklund and Anna Bjørklund opened their international speeches on condemning the Potenzan government for their support of the Danish King and procedure they called upon. "How can a Catholic nation of great influence urge the coronation of a Danish Protestant monarch in a Catholic nation!?" demanded the Bjørklunds.

The Potenzan support of the Danish claim led to several Potenzans from being removed from the suggested list of possible monarchs as the Members from Jorvik iterated they would never support a King from Potenza. Traditionally, Agderike has been cordial with fellow Catholic, Potenza, and their policies, but public perception of Potenza has decidedly soured in 1952. Potenzan support for Media and now their support for the Danish King has turned relations frosty.

Lagtinget speeches to reports from Sylvania proved interesting, and found many Members of the Lagting hesitant to support the Danes. Marching to war in the Occident did not seem to be in the interest of the Lagting. Agderike's two carriers would no doubt be utilized by the Danes as well. Many members of the Lagting thanked the Sylvanian President Rygaard for his support and a few celebrated a rebirth of relations to the West. "Our fledgling parliamentary process has led to the strongest relations with the Sylvanians out of any monarchist nation in the world. If we commit to the Danes, we embark on a campaign of Empire and war" stated the Members from Bergenhus.

It would be Bergenhus that would suggest the first official candidate to be Monarch. Lady Maud of Eltham in Great Engellex. Absolutely nothing is known about her other than that she is a young adult, unmarried and not Catholic. The Bergenhus suggestion was considered contingent upon the Lady's willingness to convert to Catholicism. The Members of Lindisfarne criticized the official candidate as not only not Catholic, but also not following the expected hereditary conventions. Nonetheless, the Lady of Eltham was sent a notice asking the question and if acceptable, if she would appear in Kristiania for questioning.

If she accepts to convert, the Lagting could vote on her acceptance.

Bergenhus' suggestion led to a plethora of candidates appearing afterward, with several Montelimar military men removed from contention due to their status as a losing nation. Additionally, nobles from Karlovia couldn't receive support, nor could anyone from the noble family of Eiffelland. Only two others are to be summoned to Kristiania. Queen Caroline II of Suionia was considered, but after debate deemed it impossible for her to accept conversion, her younger sister, Princess Lovisa would be asked. The other letter sent was a direct summoning. It went to Lady Mary Princess of Fey, from Ivernia and wife of the assassinated Crown Prince. She seems to be an unlikely candidate; however, she may prove to be a possible unifying figure as she received the highest percentage of vote for her summoning (60%) compared to others which routinely received 55%.

Consistently, a bloc remained in support of no monarch other than Danish King Frederik III. The Lagting also agreed to bring all foreign ambassadors home until the crisis can be solved. The Lagting also talked about a unity statement, in which no matter the results of future votes, the Lagting would remain intact. It is still on the table and may be voted upon after the weekend.

QUEEN DOWAGER WORRIES FOR THE PEOPLE

KRISTIANIA— The Queen Dowager spoke to the press on issues that have not been well publicized previously, namely poverty and the possibility for civil war. Thanks to a new found press freedom, as Rikspressebyrå has been without guidance since the death of the King, Queen Dowager Margaret decided it was time to find salvation for the people.

"I don't believe people know, but the Nords are perhaps some of the poorest people in the Old World. Alcoholism, gambling and filth spread themselves across our landscape. The economic downturn has been hard on Agderike. While we have expanded the potentials of our military we've left the people behind," a noticeably distraught Margaret spoke to the press.

She was pestered further for comments as she continued on her walk through Kongsparken. "As we speak, the Lagting is in recess for the weekend. They've all returned to their homes to rally their constituents. I worry that places us on an irreversible path towards civil war as they care more for how make power and play politics than how to make things right. The people only have their Members of the Lagting to look up to. They are poor, they are cold, they are tired. We have no unifying figure, only dividing. I don't condemn or betray this democracy that Haakon wanted so dearly, only that his passing left it in a state unready to be what it could have been."

She was next asked about the ladies who have been offered the Kingdom, "I know dear Lovisa well. She may be a Protestant, but know she'd do her best. She's a bit young and inexperienced though. I worry that absolute power may corrupt. Our Kingdom has little safeguards for the people against the monarchy. We've had the luxury of 100 years of monarchs who have rarely abused their powers. With the end of this family, we find our people praying for mercy in the election of a new monarch. As for Lady Maud, I have never met her, nor do I know if she even exists. I've been told there has been no reply as of yet. I doubt she'd accept this mess anyway. Lady Mary has told me she is uninterested in the position and the responsibility it holds."

"Poverty is what must be addressed. We walk here in this park burden free, but when looking at the rest of our country, the children in factories, the women in mines or textiles because their husbands cannot bring home a paycheck before spending it all on drink. We're a society in collapse. A civil war will only make this worse, and with the terrible news I hear from the rest of the country, I fear the worst. The Lagting has not considered how this will leave our nation. We are only as strong as our people."

Before she retired to the Royal Castle she was pressed to describe the final moments of the King. She replied bluntly, "I had awoke and he had left us. There were no final moments. Only a last schnapps, followed by last breathes."

LAGTINGET CHOOSES LOVISA OF SUIONIA AS QUEEN

KRISTIANIA— Lagtinget speaker Fridtjof Larsen announced to the public today that the Lagting had accepted Princess Lovisa of Suionia to become Queen after an extensive five hour questioning period. The vote held was in majority with the expected 65% majority.

The decision was unanimously agreed upon by the anti-Frederik III group in Lagtinget as they knew that without their full support they would not be able to defeat the pro-Danish bloc.

This result in the vote prompted their bloc to walk out of the Parliamentary building in protest, with many declaring that the nation would never recover from this error. A riot followed the news in West Kristiania, and there are rumors of a civilian militia is being raised in protest in several locations around the Kingdom.

Princess Lovisa has agreed to convert to Catholicism just prior to her coronation. As of yet, this date has not been planed as Parliament still awaits the arrival of King Frederik III.

LAGTING DECLARES CORONATION DATE AS GUN SHOTS ERUPT IN JORVIK!

KRISTIANIA— There was a solemn tone set in the Lagting as news set in from Jorvik was announced. That twenty-two (22) protesters had been shot and killed in front of the Jorvik courthouse for demanding that King Frederik take his ships and reverse their course home. The military which was guarding the courthouse, which had a meeting in session with pro-Frederik Lagting members opened fire upon the protest when snowballs and rocks were thrown at them. One soldier was killed when a rock fractured his skull.

The soldiers have been detained and stand trial. Pro-Frederik supporters have decided to hold a meeting in Hammerfest to discuss their next move and determine how to proceed to greet King Frederik III. With blood now shed, Pro-Lovisa supporters have urged a march on Hammerfest to put an end to the Danish clique. Men and woman have gathered their guns and pitchforks and begun to march. It is unknown how far they'll make it as they rely on the kindness of neighbors and townsfolk to provide them food and shelter in one of the coldest Nordic winter months.

This march is then begun a question for the Lagting to ask. Who is in control of the military? Naval Admiral Braaten has defiantly stated that his Navy will not sail anywhere until the crisis has been solved. The problem is that the military is firmly in control of whoever is left in charge at the time. The Army has not commented on their stance, but has agreed to place the men on civilian trial in order to avoid taking a possible stance on the issue of succession.

Lagtinget worried that the shooting may place a time quota on the possibility of their choice has scheduled for the Princess to be crowned. This Friday the ceremony will be held in front of the Lagting in Kristiania.

News of this will likely be reviewed in Hammerfest in the coming days, and will likely elicit a response from the faction of the Lagting meeting there.

Neither side has commented on the expected blockade from Greater Engellex, although the Lagting in Kristiania has given their thanks to the Governments of Sylvania, Engellex and Frescania for their support of the democratic processes put into place by King Haakon V.

Of note, is that one of the representatives of the Lagting from Ulriken has gone missing. His wife, who is the other representative fears the worst has happened as the nation continues to descend into relative chaos.

To the attention of: The Lagting

To whom this does concern:-
Ivernia is extremely disheartened by this news. In just four days the Lagting has considered, chosen and has
now set the date for the Coronation of Lovina of Suionia to become the Queen of Adger and Fey?
The High King of Ivernia finds this rushed apotheosis to be an absurd and sinister move.
I had hoped that the Lagting might meet with Frederik III to at least discuss terms of coronation with him,
and accept/reject him fairly based on the interests of the people, but now it seems before Frederik III has even completed the transit towards your nation.
May I remind you that the Lagting was an experiment by the late Haakon V.
It was never meant to rule alone, it was not designed for that purpose and it is failing in that task.

The Lagting does not represent the people as you claim to. You were not democratically elected.
You are twenty men and their wives, deciding the future of a great nordic nation, clearly against the wishes of the people, who riot in your streets.

The High King of Ivernia makes these calls for Agderike forthwith:

1. All decisions regarding coronation are to be suspended.

2. The Lagting is dissolved.

3. Agderike begins the creation of a Senate. A democratic elective chosen by and from it's citizens.

4. This Senate can then fairly and democratically choose who it wishes to become Agderike's head of state.

These objectives must be adhered to or the Lagting shall drive Agderike into chaos.
The High Kingdom of Ivernia strongly encourages you to hand diplomatic choice over to your own people.

This message was written on Behalf of the High King of Ivernia and Tara Castle

BY CHARGE AND WARD OF HIS MAJESTY KING FREDERIK III & I
THE REALMS OF DANMARK, AGDER AND FEY, THE TERRITORIES
AND THE COMMONWEALTH-DOMINION OF GLADSHEIM

Members of His Majesty's Assembly, Lagtinget,

With a great foreboding does the Council of State receive the news that Laginget, a council with clearly proscribed powers, engage on the commensurate lack of disregard to it's own clearly limited brief.

Upon the more than so obvious limitations of its remit, the Lagting abuses the memory of the Late and Valiant King, His Agderric Majesty King Haakon V, and trespasses well beyond the powers that it actually has.

Laginget, a council-body with current and crystal-clear limitation of powers, has exceeded it's due powers and sought to acquire them beyond the constitution. Not only that, but Laginget appropriates a certain arrogance of illegitimate repose that is an insult to both His Late Majesty, the Sovereign, His Majesty the King Frederik, and towards the responsibilities it holds on behalf of the peoples of Agder and Fey, if even in a circumscribed fashion.

Under the clear and legal proscriptions of the powers of the Lagting, it's so-called invitation to HKH Princess Lovisa of Suionia is beyond it's rights and is commensurately quashed on the grounds of unconstitutionality and due regal precedent until, or if, Lagtinget is devolved full legislative powers and it comes to pass that there is a binding removal of the King's legitimate claim.

As per right and as per current constitutional arrangement, His Majesty remains the legitimate monarch of the Realm of Agder and Fey. The Accession of His Danic and Agderric Majesty shall take forth and as per law, tradition, and ancient precedence a reality that cannot be surrepitiously and open-handedly disregarded by Lagtinget.

Indeed, the continued and egregious abuse by Lagtinget has been considered thorough grounds for its dissolution. But mindful of the somewhat circumscribed and also inaccurate reflection of the will of the folk, which we feel the Lagting is only a rough test, we shall not consider dissolution at this stage.

However, continued abuse of remits shall constitute grounds for abolition and reformation. The Council of State, charged to represent His Danic and Agderric Majesty, will not tolerate continued abuses of power. In essence, we suggest a less corrosive approach and one in line with the Law of the Land. Failing that, the Lagting shall be dissolved and reformed to reflect legitimacy, which the current council does not reflect.

Needless to say, the Council of State shall, at this stage, seek to speak to Laginget for a proper method of continuance and due formality. But, as stated, the antics of Lagtinget will only be tolerated for so long.

If, under the premises it has stated, that HKH Princess Lovisa is somehow crowned monarch of Agder and Fey, this shall be deemed illegitimate and tantamount to a declaration that means that the only recourse is dissolution of the Lagting, over which, in the Name of the King, I shall preside.

Furthermore, due to the precipitous nature unfolding in Agder and Fey and the climate of conflict that has been driven by the Lagting causing civil disorder, it has been decided that the King shall not visit the Kingdom at this stage and shall instead voyage to Ivernia in the next stop of the Grand Tour.

GOD JUL! LAGTING DAYS LATER ADMITS LOST CROWN

KRISTIANIA— Merry Christmas! As celebrations began across the nation the news that many pro-Catholic supporters worried about came to light. They cannot and could not coronate the Princess Lovisa. Leaving the newly arrived Lovisa in a precarious situation. She had arrived early on Friday to accept the Crown of Agder and Fey. What became problematic was that the Crown was missing.

Early in the morning while the Crown was being readied, the female representative of Ulriken, Erna Schau was given the responsibility of escorting the Crown to the Lagting. It was her husband Peter Schau who went missing earlier in the week, feared dead for his vocal stance on appointing a new King. It appears that Erna only had the responsibly of smuggling the Crown out of the building for her husband. A day after the Crown had disappeared she was spotted leaving the city.

It wouldn't be until last night that the Lagting in Hammerfest came clean and announced the defection of Peter and Erna Schau, who staged Peter's disappearance in order to have them get the Crown out of pro-Catholic hands.

Local papers for the purpose of clarity have dubbed the two factions the Catholic Lagting and the Danish Lagting. Their joint defection has divided them with 24 members, or 60% in the Catholic Lagting in Kristiania and 16 members or 40% in the Danish Lagting in Hammerfest. The hijacking of the Crown of Agder and Fey has prompted the Hammerfest Danish Lagting to invite King Frederik III of Danmark to come to Hammerfest and claim his crown.

The news comes just a day before members of the Royal Council from Danmark are to meet with the Queen Dowager Margaret, Mary Princess of Fey, and Grand Inquisitor Mikkel Vikernes. Vikernes a highly unpopular figure for many of his "Highest Court" rulings, has not proclaimed anything on the legality of Catholic Lagting nor the Danish Lagting. His only words being, "There has not been a question given to this Highest Court with which I am to judge. The laws of past speak for themselves, I do not have to speak for them unless given a clear question from a higher authority or lawsuit."

Many have disputed that Frederik III cannot assume the throne as he is not Catholic, but Agderike does not have a State Church and it has always just been a given that the Monarch would be Catholic. Despite this, the Danish Lagting has feared that a lawsuit might involve a corrupt or twisted ruling that would work against them as Vikernes is a staunch Catholic.

The Suionian Princess Lovisa, in effort to consolidate her own claim has now officially converted to Catholicism. After arriving on Friday to accept the Crown, and after it being stolen she believed she then either needed to commit to the position or go home permanently. By converting to Catholicism, she asserted her claim and surrendered her Suionian royal titles by leaving the Suionian State Church. Walking down the streets of Kristiania on Christmas Eve, she waved the People's Flag, a white-fimbriated green Nordic cross on a red field. It is seen as a symbol that unifies the people of Agder and Fey by using their main colors. Red for Agder and green for Fey. Additionally, the colors have been seen as the symbol of democracy for in the 19th century. The images showing the former Suionian Princess waving these flags has adorned her to Republican supporters who still relate to this flag.

The Catholic Lagting seems to have made this a point, as they have stated that at the end of the Eve of Christmas she will still be crowned. Obviously, it will not be of Adger and Fey as they do not have the Crown related to it and the physical Crown is required for the coronation to take place. The Catholic Lagting has declared that their coronation would still be as a natural leader of the Nords. As King Haakon V has been buried, the next Monarch is only required to be crowned, while the Archbishop of Fey presides, proclaiming: kongen er død, lenge leve kongen! The Archbishop of Fey has agreed to appear for any coronation in hopes of avoiding politicization of the event.

In addition, the last loose end was tied in that Grand Inquisitor Vikernes, announced that the King has been proclaimed as officially dead due to heart failure of a presumed heart attack. Vikernes, who has only returned to Agder as of days ago, has returned for Christmas. He has been in Fey over the past three months on business on behalf of the King. He has said that he has continued his work in spite of the King's death due to the importance in the nature of the work. He has not commented on if the work has been completed or if he would return to Fey if he had not been completed after the New Year.

Events transpiring appear to be leading the nation into a schism. It is hoped that the meeting on Christmas Day between the Danish Royal Council and the other important figures of Agderike can broker a deal in order to soften or outright avoid conflict which many assume may result in war.

BY CHARGE AND WARD OF HIS MAJESTY KING FREDERIK III & I
THE REALMS OF DANMARK, AGDER AND FEY, THE TERRITORIES
AND THE COMMONWEALTH-DOMINION OF GLADSHEIM

Members of His Majesty's Assembly, Lagtinget,

Following the insubordinancy of portions of the Lagting as a body, a legitimate whole despite the apparent and lamentable schism, and following repeated warnings and the ever-so crystal-clear wish of the Royal Council of State ~ legitimate holders of the Powers of State in the current constitutional framework to conduct discussions with the Lagting-on-whole in a sincere and exploratory mission in order to find a conducive manner to avoid the protracted constitutional crisis, the move of illegality portrayed by the 'Kristiania Lagting' is insufferable and intolerable with the immediate result that the dissolution of the powers that the Lagting in Kristiania assumes are removed with the sole-remaining powers to be enacted on by the law-abiding 'Hammerfest Lagting', a temporary arrangement pending the set up of a new Lagting. We call the 'Kristiania Lagting' to vacate from Crown Property.

We also remind the soon-to-be-defunct 'Kristiania Lagting' that ultimate Powers of State reside with the Crown of Agder and Fey, in the person of the King, but in everyday purpose exercised by the Royal Council of State, and clearly not with the 'kangarooism' of the 'Kristiania Lagting'.

We also draw attention to the pronouncement of the Royal Council of 18th December inst. which clearly laid out the grounds both for the instances of dissolution (the only deviance being actions of the 'Kristiania Lagting' causing slight revision), the remits of the Lagting, as well as the issues Lagtinget faced. We also already made it clear that any alternative 'coronation', under the existing law does not abide, cannot abide and shall not abide. The law of the land must remain and cannot be subject to insurrection or erosion. The Royal Council of State shall abide by that, a thoroughly responsible act within which to comply.

With the greatest and sincerely immense respect to HKH The Princess Lovisa of Suionia, a member of the illustrious Scanian monarchies, most loved and regarded, alongside the whole of the Scanian folk, it is clear that, due to the already and clearly stated imminent meeting to take place between the Royal Council of State, members of the family of His Late Majesty, HM the Queen Dowager Margrethe, and others including Hr Mikenes, representatives of the Lagting still resident in Kristiania should have awaited the outcome of the congress but acted in a precipitous manner in direct conflagration and in attack upon the Crown ~ essentially royal treason, subterfuge, and subjudice : pending the agreement between all parties.

The Sovereign of the Realm remains as the constitutional status quo already prescribes, a fact that should be widely known amongst the errant factions of the Lagting, a fact it needs to be reminded. Despite their limited powers, the set resident in Kristiania have failed wholsesale in providing any decent and proper leadership at all and have failed in communicating with their fellow Lagting members, now resident in Hammerfest. Indeed, the 'Kristiania Lagting' has totally ignored the whole issue of the twelve-hundred-and-forty-seven page Letter of Intent in a manner that adds to total dissolution.

From this day, 25th December, 1952, the Lagting ceases to exist in its present form and is hereby dissolved with only the rump remaining.

The Lagting appreciates the correspondence from the Royal Council of Danmark. It is however the opinion of this body that has been appointed by its peers, the citizens of this nation that we have been vested the powers of the people of Agder and Fey. Upon the passing of the King Haakon V of Agder and Fey, we were to be given the ability to appoint a new monarch. This was the words told to me by King Haakon V and words that I shall stand by. While it may have never been a written document, nor approved by any of the King's prior ministers, it is our belief that those words came from the highest authority of this country and therefore giving this body the ability to lead this Kingdom.

As such, we find the imposter to the throne, King Frederik III of Danmark to be in violation of the sovereignty and affairs of our country and his sponsorship of the Lagting breakaway sect at Hammerfest to be in the grossest violation of the friendship of our nations.

It is in the appointment of our Queen that this Lagting would like to notify Christiansborg that our Kingdom is now with a Royal Monarch as Head of State and Head of Government. It is of the opinion of the Lagting that those who do not stand behind the Queen are committing an act of treason, punishable by death. If the Kingdom of Danmark is to remain in support of those which support these acts of treason, it will be the opinion of the Lagting to recommend to Her Royal Majesty, the Queen, to issue a formal declaration of war upon the Kingdom of Danmark.

It is my highest hope that such will not be the case, and our nations can return to friendship and civility. The actions of this Hammerfest Lagting are unacceptable and shall be removed promptly.

Med Vennlig Hilsen,
Fridtjof Larsen

BY CHARGE AND WARD OF HIS MAJESTY KING FREDERIK III & I
THE REALMS OF DANMARK, AGDER AND FEY, THE TERRITORIES
AND THE COMMONWEALTH-DOMINION OF GLADSHEIM

Members of His Majesty's Assembly, Lagtinget (Kristiania only),

We thank you for the correspondence graciously received to my office based in the Royal Council of State building.

It is clear that there exists a huge and unbecoming constitutional impasse and lack of clarity that is threatening to destabilise the whole of Agder and Fey with factions dividing into two camps. As such, this calls for a proper and full-blown conference between the Royal Council, the members of royal family of His Late Majesty, senior Lagting members from both Kristiania and Hammerfest, and Hr Vikenes.

However, for the record, we are perturbed that this apparent vocal desire that the Lagting be granted the powers to invoke a vote upon a monarch of its own choosing was never at all communicated to us. Indeed, we only have the word of the Kristiania Lagting to go on and no official documentation of this, if it ever indeed came to pass at all. On this, there exists a great deal of obfuscation.

It also has to be reminded that whereas the Kristiania Lagting claims legitimacy from the people, but in hard truth by virtue of the minor-devolution of powers from the Late King, the Kristiania Lagting cannot and should not ride rough-shod over the wishes of the other forty-percent of the body. In an ordinary democracy and under rules and procedures clear to all and sundry, this vote would and should stick. However, it is also clear that the ordinary democratic rules existing in most other states are not the case in Adger and Fey, not being entrenched in the ordinary fashion. There has also been a dogmatic and divisive approach from the Kristiania Lagting leading to a split in it and causing part of the body to up sticks and transport themselves to Hammerfest. Over what is clearly a sensitive issue for all concerned, the Kristiania Lagting has failed in due care and has not properly sought to reach a decent dialogue with all concerned, something that the Royal Council intended to do all along - with the meeting between Lagtinget, the family of the Late King and others - to find a long-lasting settlement, greater and proper powers for the Lagting, and if required by clear and transparent popular will - by national plebiscite if it was deemed the sounder option - the decent and honourable withdrawal of the legal and regal claim to the throne by HM The King.

For the record, contrary to wild claims, we have never sought to 'claim and never budge', this is not the proper nor right thing to do. But, above all, it has to be done correctly and per decent transfer of powers in the right way.

One thing that is known is that all the other legal and regal precedents were made crystal clear and it is upon these grounds that we must proceed for the time being.

We also call upon the Kristiania Lagting to give us its assessments of the Letter of Intent that has already been delivered to the whole of the Lagting and upon which we have not received any feedback.

However, following this black hole which the Kristiania Lagting has further plunged the whole of the realm of Agder and Fey into, it requires proper leadership and direction. Therefore, the Kristiania Lagting shall remain it its premises in Kristiania with a dissolution placed in a moratorium - i.e. 'on ice' - pending the meeting between the Royal Council, the royal family of Agder and Fey, Hr Vikenes, and representatives from both factions of the Lagting.

We hope representatives from the Kristiania Lagting shall suitably attended the conference and we hope this way a proper and legal manner can be found to resolve the impasse and hopefully then, a settlement.

QUEEN INGER LISE OF ØSTVEG DECLARED IN KONGSBERG CATHEDRAL; QUEEN DECLARES OFFICIAL LEGISLATURE

KRISTIANIA— Without the Crown required to commence the coronation of Lovisa of Drottninggården, another Crown had to be cast. The new crown was made from gold, with small rubies and emeralds places upon the sides. Sitting in Kongsberg Cathedral in downtown Kristiania, the Archbishop of Fey placed a crown upon Lovisa and declared her Queen Inger Lise of Østveg and overseas territories. It was a short ceremony that took place just minutes away from where the Royal Council of Danmark was believed to be staying. What made the ceremony odd was that it began at 23:59 on the 24th of December and ended at 00:30 on Christmas Day.

News soon spread across the country, and it wasn't until the 27th in the Lagting's next session that the news was announced to the Danish with an accompany threat of war. What makes the threat interesting is that the military in Agderike have refused to choose a side. Rather demanding that a political solution be made before one of bloodshed. Admiral Braaten of the Navy, outright refusing to move the ships of Agderike in any direction that wasn't a friendly port. Would this military side with the Danes? Or would they fight against them if asked to by the new Queen Inger Lise of Østveg?

What this leads to naturally, is what is Østveg? The name is ancient, rooting from the original unification of Agder. When the peoples of Agder forced unification of what would become Agderike, the peoples of the other provinces referred to the region collectively as Østveg. Roughly translated at the time to mean "the way east." Important to realize that Agderike is the easterly most point of the Skandian (Saamiskavian) island and began as a key departure point for Norsemen headed to the Continent, be it for raids or trade. The term Agderike itself, didn't find popularity until after Fey became subjugated, or unified and emphasized the superiority of the Agder people.

Thus the coronation of a Queen of Østveg is supposed to denote that she is the Monarch of the region in general. Which she has later suggested that Fey is separate, and that Fey is merely a province of Østveg. No definitive specifics have been given, and it is likely to assume that territorial integrity is expected to be maintained with this new monarch.

What has been of interest is the change of her name, from Lovisa, as decidedly Suionian name, to Inger Lise which is far more Agder sounding as just the name Inger has been used by boys and girls in Agder for hundreds of years. Inger which is of Suionian in origin and Lise, which is of Agder spelling together mean a "heros daughter" and "my pledge to god" which supports her new Catholic faith.

Her first act was on the afternoon of the 27th. She made an official declaration of a legislature. She denoted the current Lagting as the official legislature and signed it into law. She called on all provinces to send two members, a man and woman of the same household to Kristiania if they did not have any members present to take place in the new legislative body, which she has termed the Folkting or "People's Thing" in the Royal Proclamation of 1952[SUP]1[/SUP]. It states —"...that the people shall appoint in their own provincial prerogative, two members to an assembly, henceforth named "Folktinget", to handle the legislative duties of the Peoples and Kingdoms of Agder and Fey, under a single crown of Østveg and as the Kingdom of Østveg."

The Royal Proclamation of 1952 has immediately brought her the affections of Republicans which while wishing to do away with the Monarchy, have seen this as an important step forward for democracy, and the best foot forward toward Republicanism. This is due to the fact that King Frederik III is assumed to have no interest in removing the Monarchy. Despite the affections of Republicans, who took to the streets of Kristiania with cheers, they are estimated to only represent about 10% of the population at this point in time.

The new Folkting, has assumed the former body of the Lagting and will continue to play with the same membership until the crisis has completed. Yet, this does not mean that the Folkting does not have any further debate to continue with. Now put forward has been the question of Frescanian soldiers, which have been offered by the Republic of Frescania to provide protection to Agderike during the crisis. Many in the Folkting believe this would solidify power in Kristiania over the Danish supported Hammerfest Lagting. Argument has suggested that this would fully place the country into a state of civil war, with the possibility of outright war between Danmark and Frescania. Queen Inger Lise has stated that she would not move forward on this issue without the recommendation of the Folkting.

Her coronation is in direct defiance of the Danish Royal Council and may begin an official war of succession. The Kristiania Lagting has refused to meet with the Danish Royal Council as they feel they operate from a position of strength. The Hammerfest Lagting issued a call to arms to usurp the new pretender.

KRISTIANIA BURNS AS A CALL TO ARMS IS ISSUED WHEN ARMY SIDES WITH THE DANES AND HAMMERFEST

KRISTIANIA— A call to arms has been issued by the Folkting as the Agder military has promised support to the Hammerfest Lagting. Generals of the Army have suggested that the establishment of a full and different country has brought upon the nation a civil war and that the military would remain loyal to the Crown.

In the response, the Folkting immediately issued a call to arms to the people. To which a firefight opened up as rival sides fought in Kristiania. Riots are likely to be the cause of fires, as most of Kristiania is impoverished and constructed mostly from wood. These wooden structure light up like matchsticks and as a result a great portion of the city burns. It is rumored that the royals have fled to Hammerfest and that the Folkting has moved across the bridge to Jorvik, all in effort to escape the fire. The Folkting has also sent a diplomat to Engellex, Frescania and Sylvania to discuss terms of alliance.

The call to arms asks civilians to report to the new Army of the Østwegians (Austwegians?). The Queen of Østveg has declared that she no longer has aspirations for the restoration of the crowns of Agder and Fey and having declared that, "The people have made it evident that we now stand in a place between the fight for the Restored Monarchy of Frederik III or the dawn of a new era, one of humanity, equality, and the rule of the people."

Republican leaders have taken note of these words and they've gathered together from across the nation in Ulriken tonight to discuss their own viewpoints on the issue. Republican leaders are expected to send emissaries to both the Folkting and Lagting in Hammerfest within the next day. Meanwhile, the People's Flag waves through the streets of Kristiania as the capital city burns.

While the Grand Duchy maintains her support for the Danish claim to the throne, we will maintain a level of neutrality with this conflict. We urge all parties to remain calm and not resort to matters that could otherwise have been avoided.

Sanctioned by the Office of the Nadzorca of the Upper Swieczieman Federative Mezhist Republic, Approved by the Office of the Hegemon of the Lower Swieczieman Confederative Mezhist Republic

For the sake of peace and stability, we implore the leadership in Kristiania to submit to the rightfully inherited and executed authority of His Royal Majesty, Frederik III, mandated by God Almighty, and to resume talks concerning the transition of power, the most intelligent and rational option. This call to arms goes against Agder law and will only result in violent bloodshed, a senseless throwing away of precious human life. A rebellion is unnecessary and most wasteful and tragic. If the people of Agder and Fey truly wish to proceed from autocracy to democracy, there are provisions for such an option, provisions within an entirely constitutional process, and provisions that most importantly, the rightful King, Frederik III, has placed on the table in his God-given wisdom and benevolence.

Teachtaireacht ón Prionsa-Toghthóir na Íverniann i iúl in ainm Teamhrach Caislean, an Airdrígh agus uile-Íverniann.
Chead
na Eanáir 1952
An announcement made by Silvio MacBrady from the High Senate of Ivernia in Nemedia House, Bán Dair Cathrach, formally addressed to the Lagtings, the Republican Insurgents and All-Agderike.

''It is with a heavy heart that I must make this announcement, on New Years Day, to the Ivernian peoples: Agderike is in a state of Civil War. Kristiana is burning, my fellow senators, as the Army of Agderike has officially chosen their King to be the rightful King Frederik III & I. This has led to a desperate attempt from the False Lagting, the 'Folkting' as I believe they now call themselves, to rally the commoners to arms in a vain battle against military soldiers which will lead to much bloodshed.
Ivernia's last declaration to Agderike called for the suspension of all heads of state and a dissolving of the Lagting so that a true democratic Senate may have been formed. These clauses would have avoided warfare and encouraged discussion, but alas we were ignored, and now Kristiana burns and it's people will suffer.

The Senate of the High Kingdom of Ivernia calls once again:

An immediate ceasefire.

Dissolution of BOTH Lagtings

Election of a Senate.

Agderike will not last if it's people must die over the machinations of the unelected few.
From this moment onwards the Ivernian military shall be on full alert, and the High Kingdom of Ivernia makes an international call:

All nations who might decide to involve or embroil themselves in this civil war would do well to co-operate with all nations with interest in the Gothic Sea. The High King of Ivernia himself calls for a multi-national attempt at peace keeping, so that we will not be divided by this contentious issue and kick-start another Northern War.
The High Kingdom of Ivernia needs to be made aware of the opinions of it's neighbours and allies, of all those with an interest in the stability of the Gothic Sea to act together towards a peaceful resolution.''

This message was written of a statement by Senator Silvio MacBrady with the endorsement of the High King of Ivernia and Tara Castle

The Republic is deeply sadden that civil war has erupted in Agderike. We call on all sides to come together and build a framework that works for all sectors of society.

However, The Republic warns that this is an internal affairs in Agderike and that any kind of intervention by any foreign power will be not be seen kindly.

Our armed forces in the region will maintain their current status and positions.

We are gravely saddened that the independent realm of Agderike has fallen into civil insurrection and chaos due in no small part to the machinations of hyper-imperialist and monarchist reactionaries. We extend a hand of friendship and our gravest sympathy to the workers of Agderike, who must surely be suffering the worst as a result of this unnecessary conflict and bloodshed.

We cannot in good conscience support either side in this dynastic squabble, but we offer neutral medical aid and supplies should they be needed.

We are shocked to see that the nation of Agderrike is ready to enter a civil war, to divide and to destroy itself because of the machinations of leaders who aren't elected by the people, for the people. While we believe that the law must be respected, we saw that this conflict escalated so much that now, negotiations must be done to try to satisfy both camps, if not there may be bloodshed, a thing that Agderrike and any nation in the world doesn't need.

We support the Ivernian Senator Silvio MacBrady and fully endorse his ideas. We would also want to make a call to any nation in the world to join us in the creation of an international peacekeeping force which would enter Agderrike when this conflict escalates to armed conflict. In conclusion, we are sad to see that such things like a civil war for electing a king happen in the industrial era and would like to ask all parties to stop this madness before its too late.

In responce with the Frescanian message, we would also like to say that it is not right to let a country destroy itself while the rest of the world sits and says that its their problem. We respect the sovereignty of each nation and people and we also believe that action is needed to help people to avoid all the bad things a war can bring, from bloodshed and refuge crisis to famine. We would like to again state the need of creating this international detachment which should intervene to keep the peace if the conflict escalates.

Signed,
on behalf of the People's Council and the Parthian people,
General Commissar of Foreign Affairs, Sorin Sokolov
