If this is true, I'd like to claim his spot. Even if protocol is strictly observed, this spot should be open as of early March unless I missed something. I'm fine with waiting. Don't know if makes any difference where protocol is concerned, but like I said waiting is not an issue as I've got nothing but time. I don't plan on Daracnia being stable enough to get involved with neighbors for at least that long.

Location: Drakun Imperium's current spot. If he comes back before that can happen, E:2.
Name: Daracnia
Capital: Greycastle; right where the "R" in "Imperium" is currently (aka smack dab in the middle of whatever plot I get. EDIT: just make sure it isn't coastal)

E:2 is being tentatively claimed and RP'd from by Padania (my alter ego as Sinhai has become boring but not quite sure I just want to drop it yet). However, as Drakun has stated he's quitting, I happily see no conflict of interest here. Also, lol @ people responding to my rant a couple days late. I'm not really frustrated about that anymore. :D I'll ensure that your capital is not coastal. Also, as a map revision is in the works, I'll issue a v1.3 shortly to allow time for those working on a v2.0 to finish their work. (Suionia and Khalistan to be given proper credit for their initiative) Daracnia feel free to RP as if you were occupying Drakun's map spot, I'll work on pushing v1.3 out tomorrow-Wednesday, depending how much time I get to spend on my desktop since my girlfriend has seemingly staked her claim at my desk now...

Thanks, Sinhai. I know firsthand how demanding this job can be, and I really appreciate your hard work. :D

You can remove me from the map. By the time I'm able to get regular activity there won't be a point being Helena.

I was taken out of commission by a serious illness; while I have recovered for the most part, I expect to be backed up with work for the next few weeks. Hopefully I will begin posting sporadically before then in the RPs I am engaged in - and have not forgotten - but it may be necessary to enlist a new warmod if the Belmont-Coronado War continues. Hope to be back in the saddle soon.

Requesting the mapspot of where Ausmoria or Australmaria is currently, if he does not return before the next update.

Nation: Cantigny
Location: Ausmoria/Australmaria Spot
Capital: Vesper (Located at the Center or Southeast part of the bay connected to the Vandal Sea, in the little nook there, ask me in the IRC if that is confusing)

I would like to claim #H:13, or whatever the equivalent spot will be if the map gets changed about.

Nation: Kassiopeia
Location: H:13
Capital: Kassiopeia (located about halfway between the H:13 and the coast)

Yujin Era :- Bangkok v1.0

Presenting the new, official map; now complete with more parking spaces. The map was created to be easy and quick to update, unlike the other version which required the graphics to be remade entirely anytime adjustments were made to the physical characteristics of the world. Some revisions have been made to the policies of inactive nation purging, so make sure you read it.

For you new people going "aw what the hell I came to NSEurope and all I got was this shitty link" sadly, I can't link the picture with img tags unless you do some shit with greasemonkey on firefox or whatever. Complain to Xen about that.

FOR NATION CLAIMING AND STUFF
As you can tell, I'm not as formal as other stiff suits. If you want a nation, there's a few things you should do.
  • First, go take yourself on to cooperative corner ( ) and work with people to make your country. National roleplaying is supposed to be social. I'm not putting you on the map if you're going to be a loner. The world is supposed to be interconnected, not a bunch of individual countries that happen to be on the same planet.
  • Second, I haven't put claim numbers up on the map, so get on MSPaint and draw me something and post it. I'll get numbers up.
  • Third, I allow people to modify their claims slightly prior to being officially put on. This is because I believe people are more likely to roleplay and stick with a spot when they are happy with their spot. So, you can either claim a spot as is, or draw me a revised plot. I am not going to give you ridiculous assloads of pixels or draw you a penis lake.
  • Fourth, Give me your capital, your largest city, and your main port. Alternatively, just give me 3 city names. Label your capital. If you have multiple capitals (like Netherlands) that's fine.

Alright...

NATION PURGING
The old way of doing it was crap; people had to be given 2 week notices and shit like that. It's going to work differently now. I'll tell you how it works, and then I'll say the benefits and downsides.

Way it works: If I notice someone hasn't RP'd long enough for me to notice (roughly 2-3 weeks) and have looked into it and they haven't posted in the inactivity thread, they're added to a Replacement List. A prospective player can request to either claim a new plot, or, should no other logical plot for the ethnic group exist, they may request to replace a player. I.E. a France who can't find a free Francelandia, can replace inactiveFrenchcountry#15. A person who has been on the list for more than a month without saying anything anywhere can be replaced by anyone, even a country hopping reroller like Jose.

Benefits: If you're in a low desired area, and can't be bothered to post in the inactivity thread (you get in a car accident and go into a coma for months on end) chances are you'll never be removed from the map. This keeps parts of the map looking full.

Downsides: If you're in a highly desirable area with many players wanting to replace you, they might request to claim your spot before you get around to posting some RP to be removed from the list. This means no 2 week wait period. You could be replaced in hours. Sucks to be you, next time post in inactivity.

To be removed from the list, simply roleplay. Not just one news post with 3 lines, something that actually says something. Otherwise, you're wasting space other people want.

Replacement List

Everyone who wants cities, post your cities now. 2 minors allowed. If you're a small country, and you want 3 cities, realize you'll probably look like shit after. I'm not going to take the effort to make you look nice if you're a selfish pomp. Also, I'll be working on an alliance colored map to replace the current one; but first I need to let the alliances get settled down.

nice map — clean, simple, neat. I do have two suggestions, take them or leave them.

1. It looks little odd to mix a serifed and sans serifed font like with the country and city names. You might want to just use a smaller, italicized version of the country name font for the capitals (I like that country font, whatever it is).
2. The colors are a bit bright for me, at least. what if for the next update, what if we went for a just variations within a palette of similar colors, like this? (5 minutes in paint lol, looks like shit):

again, we are past the point of brainstorming here, so these are just my personal tastes/views. we don't really have to take them into serious consideration if it's too much of a distraction.

Damnit, I just noticed I must not have saved the redo on Engellex's font. He's still rocking Tahoma. Could've sworn I had that fixed this time around. Also, I like the idea on palette of similar colors, my only concern was them not being different enough to be noticable when it comes to say, islands. My goal was to only use this current color scheme until I could issue an alliance-based color scheme, various shades of red for RDTO, blues for EDF, greys for PA, other for non-aligned for example. As for the serif font, I think you're right, the italic serif might not be the best for 10 font city names. I also chose to leave out water body names for now, I was hoping to get another Atlas thread up so people could agree on names for sea. I don't want to arbitrarily name everything shitty names no one likes.

*edit* nvm on first note, replaced it with the one that had Engellex rocking the right font.

I love it. Though, it would be nice to have less bright colors. Regardless, here's my cities

Villesen is the capital so mark it accordingly thanks.

EDIT: I labeled Couserans incorrectly, its actually Monseran and the Monseran in black isn't there. Thanks Xyr in advance. :)

Small note: the 'E' in Batavië is missing the trema, or two dots above it. For a PC the alt code is 0203.

I agree with Kryo on the colours. Map looks nice, however.

I like the bright colors, but I guess I'm the minority here, smashing map!

I also like the colour scheme, although my colourblindness may be a factor in this :p However, I am unsure of the fonts and agree they should be either serif or sans serif, preferably the latter.

I'm digging the color scheme myself.

Cities and possible name change request will come later after work and talking with my partner-to-be. Great map.
