Her Majesty's Secretary of State of the Free Union of Engellex and Blois

The recent divide in support of the PDC Party is encouraging to foreign observers, it also makes clear to the extremist minority that militancy has no place within Fulanistan. The formation of the Social Democratic Union is testament to the will of the people to maintain the democratic credentials of Fulanistan, and it is surely hoped that the remnants of the PDC Party acknowledge and accept that.

Despite the obvious ideological differences between Her Majesty’s Government and the Social Democratic Union, we will nonetheless congratulate their efforts and wish them well in enriching democracy within Fulanistan.

PDC Coup uncovered, FCS raids and shuts down party from Senate

After several odd comments by Abdul De Keizer earlier this week there has been much confusion and distrust with the previous Opposition Party which lead to the formation of the SDU. Late Monday night Informants tipped off the FCS that the PDC Party was planning a Coup to take control of the country. The FCS kept a close eye on operations at the PDC HQ, and a bugged conference room revealed that the PDC Military Faction was going to raid the Central Government Bloc at the next scheduled Senate Hearing which was set for Friday. The plan involved arresting the Interim Security Council and publicly executing them for 'treason'. The National Defense Force was alerted and the PDC HQ was stormed immediately. Dozens of Conspirators were arrested for planning to overthrow the Government, and Abdul De Keizer was placed in a high security prison. It is expected he will be tried in a military court later this month. Also seized was hundreds of weapons such as Assault Rifles, Rocket Launchers, and even stolen NDFF equipment such as 2 tanks and several APCs. All had the NLA emblem marked onto them and are expected to be investigated and reused in the NDFF. Soon after the successful raid, the National Senate voted unanimously to ban the PDC as an illegal terrorist organization for crimes against the state.

Carentania possesses evidence that the accusations levelled against the PDC in Fulanistan are constructed by Fulani intelligence services and are in no way true. We protest this false flag operation against a progressive movement in Himyar and condemn this act of political justice.

We congratulate the Fulanistani government for preventing a coup, which surely would have led to bloodshed. At the same time we are disturbed to see a political party performing raids. Should that not be the role of the police and military? We just hope that paramilitary forces are abolished, they only lead to infighting.

In response to our Carentanian counterparts, we urge them to bring forward this evidence for all to see. Surely it must be investigated if it really does exist.

National Senate votes to hold election

After many days of consideration, the National Senate has decided to hold a Federal Election. The request was put forward by the now jailed Abdul De Keizer late last week, and was carefully considered by the National Senate. President Hafez Al-Nahed commented at a press conference this morning that an election will end the long commonwealth crisis that started early last month. SDU President Yasir Shahadi has already begun a strong advertisement campaign, using peace and strength as main goals if he is elected. If elected, Yasir Shahadi will be first president not born in Fulanistan as he was born in Hajr. A recent national poll shows the SDU in the lead, followed by the NRC. There is also a strong group of independents who may have some sway in the results, especially in the south where voter turnout is significantly low, and there is a less educated populace.

The recent Fulanistani and Batavian investigations into the activities of the People's Democratic Communist Party are frauds and undemocratic, aimed at besmirching both the PDCP and Vangala. We call for an open and transparent inquiry to ensure justice and fairness.

Election to take place this evening

After many days of preparedness throughout the country, the time for the national election has come, and polls have already opened around the country. The two main candidates for the election are Hafez Al-Nahed and Yasir Shahadi. Hafez is the president of the centrist party called the National Republican Coalition, which aims to keep foreign and domestic business interests unharmed, and prevent rapid political change from occurring. Yasir is president of the Social Democratic Union, which is a center-left party that split from the former PDC Party. The SDU aims to reform much of the country, and promote tourism as a main source of income rather than selling the crude oil reserves. Despite polls showing that the SDU should win by a large margin, there is much support for the NRC among the more conservative community in the country which has had some sway in the countries politics in the past.

The elections being held in Fulanistan will be unfair and unfree as the ruling regime refuses to end its flawed investigation into the activities of the People's Democratic Communist Party.

Carentania once again wishes to point out that it possesses clear evidence that the founding members of the SDU have been involved in a plot to frame the PDC for a non-existant coup attempt. We demand an end to this act of political justice, the re-legalisation of the PDC and warn any Fulani citizen, that a vote for the SDU is a vote against progress and a reward for violence, conspiracy and treachery.

Have the Carentanian authorities brought forth this evidence to the Fulanistani authorities? Surely even evidence with sensitive material can be properly forwarded. Until that evidence is shown, how can it be expected for any investigation to take place?

We deny allegations that the SDU has been involved in the PDC Party coup, and we assert that the attempted coup was legitimate and was a threat to our government.

Carentania has already released a witness report. The identity of the witness can not be released due to safety concerns. Batavies belief in investigations to be held by the very same authorities that instigated this false flag operation is best described as naive.

Carentania's belief that investigations not be held at all is naïve. Send the information to both the Fulanistani authorities and a neutral third party to conduct an investigation. What does Carentania hope to gain by simply claiming it has evidence? Nothing can be done without an investigation of some sort.

We have already publically made available evidence for the framing of the PDC. It is of utmost importance that the identity of the sources remains secret, as we do not wish to endanger said person. Delivering names to authorities that were willing to construct false charges against a political group would equal a death warrant for our informants.

If information will not be brought forth to a proper investigative authority, than it is impossible for any investigation to take place. That's fairly basic procedure.

SDU wins in landslide election

The results of last weeks election have been made public, and the results show that Fulani's voted overwhelmingly for Yasir Shahadi of the Social Democratic Union. The SDU claimed 62% of the vote, with the NRC claiming a low 19%. The Fulani Green Party made a comeback with 13%, up from the last election in which the received 4%. A small group of independents mostly from the former PDCP also claimed the remaining 5% if the vote. President Hafez called the elections disappointing for the NRC but a good turn for Fulanistan due to the very high voter turnout with 79% of those eligible voting. Yasir Shahadi will be sworn in as President later this week. The SDU claims their main goal is to abolish the senate and create a parliament with an elected Prime Minister. Also planned is a bold economic restoration project which, if carried through, has the potential of making the Fulani economy one of the most powerful in the region.

Pictured: Al-Hamayed greets a crowd after a press conference today
Former PDC Party Administrator says communist movement is still alive in Fulanistan

Despite the controversial ban of the PDC Party many in Fulanistan claim that the communist movement is alive and flourishing. Former Youth Leader of the PDC Party, Mohamed Al-Hamayed, states that despite the recent ban on his party he has much faith that a revolution will still take place. Mohamed spoke out in favor of a revolution today at a press conference in which he stated that he was working with other former party members to rebuild the communist front and recapture the attention of Fulanistan. Newly elected President Yasir Shahadi was widely condemned by Mohamed and his panel. He was criticized of being a puppet installed by the NRC to allow them to keep power without being elected. Former PDC Party president Abdul De Keizer also made his first statement since his imprisonment today. He made a rare public appearance in which he asserted his audience that he was confident that he would not be convicted as guilty in his trial which is set for late next week. Despite this, it is unlikely he would return to any leadership position as he would most certainly be an easy target for criticism.
