"While we do not wish to start senseless conflict over refugees, we would still urge you to extradite those fleeing. We would guarantee their safety so long as they renounce Communism and join their brothers and sisters in the continued protection of a Fascist Geotri. The problem with recent Communist actions in Geotri is that they have been caught vandalizing private and public property as well as looting local businesses, continuing to act out in violence will result in harsher restrictions placed on those rioting. They have not listened thus far and are continuing to hurt their communities, their businesses, and their neighbors. While there are few who remain at home, living their lives without senseless violence, there are those who wish to disturb the peace. We will not sit back and continue to allow them to continue this, and these few people will be punished. If Fascists or Democrats were doing the same thing in your country, don't tell me you wouldn't stop them. We hope you understand

The rhetoric of the far-right government of Brakw worries the Assembly and Directory deeply, as these same tactics and words were used by the thoroughly fascist Koldobikan movement which now disguises itself as the "Black Hand Militia". In the interest of protecting democracy within Germania, the Mendiak shall monitor the situation within Geotri. If the rhetoric becomes hostile to our friends in nations bordering Geotri, the peoples of Mendiak will unite steadfast with their brothers. It should be considered a warning to Chancellor Schmeid. Although this communique may be considered hostile, it is in the interest of peace and security.

We are simply stating that we are enforcing the laws we have in place, there is a difference between a protest and a riot and sadly Communists here do not seem to think the same. They have used violence to get what they want and that has a price that they must pay, if others wish to harbor the criminals then all we may do is request them to be extradited. There is no military action we can take without being attack ourselves by the global community. We also would like to assure you that we are in no way funding or assisting the "Blank Hand Militia," their effort is of keen interest to us.

Racing Revving up to start soon


​

The Auto-Rennen-Wettbewerb is revving up to start April 12th, with 5 of the 6 race tracks ready for the races. The first of 6 scheduled races begins in Wettendurf Motor Speedway on April 12th and will continue throughout the other speedways ending with the Hoppingen Motor Speedway on August 12th. Hoppingen was the home town of the founder of Nationale Vereinigung für Stock Car Racing or NVSC, the association that hosts the races. The Auto-Rennen-Wettbewerb is a stock car race, this is not the only racing competition they also have the a Formula 3 race called the Geotrian F3 Championship. Most cars are provided by HMW, Heithal Motor Works, however there are a few smaller races that use foreign cars.

Chancellor Schmeid to visit several neighboring nations
​

Chancellor Schmeid has expressed his intent to visit the neighboring countries starting in the fall. "I wish to promote good relations with other countries, and I feel that a good way is to visit and speak with other leaders," Chancellor Schmeid said in a statement in a press interview Thursday afternoon. He has asked several leaders to be invited to their countries, in a statement he made Friday. He plans to leave at the beginning of Spring and hopes to end a few weeks later, depending on how many countries he is allowed to visit.

Update on the Wildfire West of Brakw

The wildfire that has been burning a path to the capital of Brakw is almost near the end of its life, a local fire chief said in a statement Thursday. The fire began 550 Km away from the capital and has been burning its way towards the capital for 4 days, and came withing 145 Km of the city. It has inflicted minimal property damage, as fire fighters have worked diligently to adjust the course of the fire to avoid many towns. However a total of 11 lives have been lost to this fire, only 1 firefighter died combating the flames.

Weapons and Arms Collection Act

​

The Weapons and Arms Collection Act (WACA) is a act recently passed by the Federal Council, proposed by Chancellor Schmeid, where all registered and unregistered weapons are to be collected as to prevent shootings, intentional or unintentional. The collection process will begin Monday 01-30-'57, and will last 9 months of mandatory house to house searching. After the 9 months there will only be periodical searches, this will be done by anonymous tips and whether or not they had to return their firearms during the Collection Process. Also included in the WACA will be an increase to the Police Departments.

President Heinrich Keisenger denounces the continuing violence in Cumbria

​

In a public speech President Keisenger made Saturday, he stated that "The continued violence occurring in Cumbria, the war has become bloody and drawn out. It is a battle that will be hard won, but at what cost? How many more people must die, how many families must be torn, how many cities must be bombed, before it is too late? Before another country becomes a fatality of war. We ask this to our neighbors 'end this before it ends you, end this before it is too late.'"

A School Shooting at a High School in Wettendurf


​

Granz High School, a public school located west of Wettendurf, was recently the victim of a school shooting Monday morning. According to police officials a 16 year old boy was able to obtain a P36 and shot and killed 1 student and wounded 2 others before a teacher was able to disarm the student. The student shot the students while in the bathroom, when the teacher heard the gunshots and rushed to the scene to save the two other boys from being killed. One boy is in critical care for being shot in upper stomach, the other is still in the hospital for being shot in the arm. The funeral for the child who lost his life has not yet been announced by the parents, the press did not push any further on the issue.

New Law Requires all Media to be Published by the State

​

A new law, called the GRMO Act, makes all newspaper and radios to be owned by the government. Many former Communist newspaper agencies are now retracting their old papers due to new management caused by the new law. The retraction is only for the newspapers of the new year, meaning any issues before January 1st 1957 are fine but those after were retracted. The law also creates sub companies to manage the newspaper and press of their respected state, with another company producing national news sent to the entire country. Many more bills are set to become laws in the near future.

Military Drill planned for February 20th


​

The annual Military Drill, MTW, is planned for Feb. 20th in the region south of Racow, a senior military officer told a reporter Wednesday. The Military Drill is an annual drill to refresh combat skills to ensure that the armed forces are always at their peak and able to defend the country to the best of their ability. There are no other details that can be released as of currently, while many speculate it will be similar to last years, others have expressed that this years will be tougher and will much better prepare the nation in the case of a war. But whatever occurs during this years MTW many can agree, it will be a long grueling week for those enlisted.

Miners struck gold!

​

Miners in the state of Unterlind have struck a rich vein of gold, according to the local mining company EuZ. The company has released a statement that states that they would be willing to "hire foreigners who seek the riches of gold." Currently they lack enough miners to properly operate a gold mine and are looking to hire workers abroad and domestic. They have reserved a certain amount of jobs to foreigners while also reserving jobs for domestic workers.

Government to announce a new national park!


​

New research provided by the Wettendurf University show that there is a region of forest that contain various rare plants and animals, ranging from moss to deer. President Keisenger announced Saturday that, "To protect the environment we must make steps to allow species destroyed by human means to live, by creating national parks we prevent others from building factories and neighborhoods over the habitats of animals with whom we share our country with." Chancellor Schmeid supports President Keisenger in his proposal.

Udel announces New Car


​

Udel announced Friday afternoon that they would be unveiling a new car to their line. They made very little indication as to what the new car will be but they did announce it will be fully released "In the near future," a spokesman told state reporters. While many can speculate as to what the car is, it will surely be a hit with the people.

Chancellor Schmeid supports Bourgogne in it's 'Aggressive Rearmament'

In a recent statement made by The Grand Duke Maximilien II in regards to the fact that documents have been released about the current state of their military and how Serenierre continues to maintain a land border force. He has been quoted by the newspaper le Soleil for saying "We will pursue aggressive rearmament." Chancellor Schmeid said in a statement that he, "Fully support the actions of the Bourgogne government in its defense against its Communist neighbor. If they wish we should seek to help each others nations in the fight against the Communist threats." He also stated that he supports the aircraft operation they recently launched against the Ivernian Rebels.

Last remaining Communist Leader sentenced to Death


​

Last remaining Communist leader, who was arrested during a riot last month, was just sentenced to death. He was tried with damage of public and private property and threatening the state with terrorist actions. Benedikt Blücher, a prominent member of the Volkspartei, was one of the last members of the party to be arrested and sentenced to death. Many of the remaining members have fled to the neighboring countries of Serenierre and Kadikistan, and Kadikistan refuses to extradite them back to Geotri to be tried for their crimes against the government and its people.

Udel Releases New Car!

Udel has released a new car Friday, after making a statement stating that they are going to release a new car. The car, called the

Federal Council to redo Federal Budget


​

The Federal Council is set begin setting a new budget for the new year after Chancellor Schmeid had requested them to do so. Chancellor Schmeid has told the Federal Council to be sure to "Properly fund not just the military, but also education, environment, industry, and to the states." However with the change of the budget also comes with other departments like agriculture and transportation taking most of the hits, while this will affect many, the agricultural department has seen an increase in crop yield using less funds. Whatever the outcome with the new budget it will affect the lives of many for many years to come.

Valentine's Day Festival a Success!


​

The Valentines Day Festival, Fest der Liebe, was a success according to the man who organized and managed the Festival in the city of Brakw. The festival is an all day event in which there is a series of parades, a large feast, and large amounts of alcohol consumption. The day starts with lighting of two candles to represent the fire and passion of love in each partner and ends when the candle is put out at the end to represent the end of a relationship which is typically death. The day is divided into several parts each representing a stage in a relationship. With early in the day being young love progressing to more serious and serious stages in a relationship until it reaches the point in which typically people die and can no longer love each other until they meet again. In past years there were many reports of rape and assault but this year marks a first for this festival, there were a significant drop in reports of both rape and assault.

Date Set for the New Federal Budget

The date for the Federal Council to visit the Federal Budget is set for 18th of February, with a decision likely decided by the 19th or 20th. No Councilmen have gave any indication to the public of what the outcome will be, but Councilman Eueen Rosenstock has indicated that this will be a "Defining moment in our history." Many federal employees wait anxiously for a verdict on whether or not they will be cut, an unknown source within the government has stated that "Any federal employees will be given another job within a different department."

Federal Budget finalized!​

The Federal Council adjourned their meeting late Sunday night with a finalization of the new budget, which reallocated funds to all Departments of the government. Many politicians willingly took a pay cut while others were forced to, with the logic behind this being "That people should be in these positions to lead, not to get rich off of those below them," Councilman Hellmuth said during the debates according to sources that were allowed in to view it. The debates during the decision making process were non televised and only testimonies will suffice as to who said what. The three biggest departments to receive a pay raise is the Department of the Military, the Department of Education, and the Department of Industry. Many of the states also received an increase of federal money at their disposal to deal with issues of fire, police, and medical departments. The two departments that took a hit were the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Transportation. The Department of Agriculture has proven itself to not only produce more and more quantities of foodstuffs but also to do it using less money, so the excess money they weren't using was moved elsewhere. However the Department of Transportation has seen a general decrease of use by the general public, many have begun using their own personal vehicles instead of public transportation. A decision made by the Minister of the Department of Transportation has stated that "Most buses are no longer being used or needed, the only major use for trains is transporting goods from state to state or to neighboring countries." Many buses in cities are still being used but those cities are far and few, with many buses in small towns and cities being unused and wasting diesel fuel. The Departments of Foreign Affairs, Internal Affairs, Energy, and Justice were relatively unchanged.

The People's Republic condemns the statements of the Government of Geotri in supporting the actions of the Burgundian Government. The actions of that government are dangerous for the security of the region and by standing in agreement with the Chagny foreign policy doctrine, the State of Geotri is including itself in matters that could damage the sensitive balance of powers in Gallia.

We urge the government of Chancellor Schmeid to avoid making statements which are so wholly irresponsible and uninformed of the subtleties and nuances of the situation.

I shall not be told who I can and can not support, therefore I shall not retract my statement and will continue to find ways to assist my neighbor. The actions of your own government have also been highly suspect of late, including imposing martial law on your own people, conducting raids against them, public executions of political refugees, military drills along the already tense border. While we ourselves are without controversy we warn you that you yourself are not free from committing heinous crimes and would advise to fix your own stability before making claims of others being uninformed about the situation.

The statement issued by the Chancellor of Geotri is indicative of a highly immature and ignorant man who has been handed the reins of power of his small country by a mixture of luck and Burgundian patronage and without much else. The so-called Chancellor of Geotri has simply deflected the legitimate concerns one can express about the state of affairs in that unfortunate nations.

We listen to his words with great amusement. What else can we do for a man who totally sells the interests of his nation to the Burgundian state, which continues to rape and pillage across the globe. But we reserve our sympathy for the people of Geotri who have been forced to be led by a man who has so totally and wholly subjugated himself before the might of Burgundian imperialism.

Secretary Taussig announces the closure of the embassy in Serenierre

Secretary Taussig announced the closure of the embassy within the country of Serenierre and the Serenierrian Embassy in Brakw on Tuesday officials say. Chancellor Schmeid has had enough of the "pointless banter" going on between himself and the Commissariat for External Relations stating that "It has degraded from any sense of civil debate to senseless name calling. He also stated that he would not "degrade himself to that point," and refuses to answer anymore questions regarding the situation.
