These are the news:

Colonial tension in southern Himyar keeps drawing Carentanian attention, as comments made by the Commissar for Foreign Affairs were answered with a series of ad hominem attacks by the Valkanian government. Commissar Jerman reacted calmly to the Valkanian insults, stating that "this kind of open hostility is evidence of the volatility of imperialist expansionism." Faced with growing local resistance to their violent occupation, the Valkanians react to any threat of intervention on behalf of the oppressed black Himyari people with hystery. "This only serves to strengthen our resolve, to challenge the rule of imperialism in Himyar."

As a first step towards involvement in the protection of native Himyari rights, Carentanian officials have invited representatives of the black Himyari population and the Himyarish Eastern Cape Freedom Fighters to Rijeka. "We understand the difficulty of our invitation as this point of violent struggle," Commissar for Foreign Affairs Tomas Jerman said. "However, we hope to evaluate Carentanian options in alleviating the suffering of the civil population of the black Himyari nation and to increase pressure on the Valkanian government to end their violent oppression of a proud people." To this end, the Commissar stated, it was necessary to have the black Himyari speak for themselves at Rijeka.

A suspected agent of the former Vangalan regime was arrested in the city of Cazma today, following information provided by Revolutionary Army Intelligence. The man used to serve as a high-ranking official in the colonial administration prior to the Vangalan revolution and fled the country alongside the government in exile to organize terrorist resistance against the new government and delegitimize the social revolution. "We can only speculate what motivated him to come to Carentania of all places," a spokesperson of the Commissariate for Inner Security said. Since Carentania considers the socialist government the sole legitimate representation of the Vangalan people and officials of the former colonial government are wanted for numerous crimes in Vangala, the man will be facing extradition to Vangalan authorities.

These are the news:

Carentania will not be sending troops to the Eastern Cape, Commissar for Foreign Affairs Tomas Jerman said after Valkany announced it would accept international peacekeepers and observers into its colony. The Commissar stressed that there was no need for Carentania to get involved and that it trusted Europe on this issue. "We have drawn international attention to the ongoing crimes in the Eastern Cape and forced Valkany to recognize the natives and their rights. Our work in this issue is done."

After voices within the Solaren province of Capraria have openly adressed the issue of a possible independence from Solaren, Carentania has issued a formal declaration that it will support national unity "but not unconditionally" and stated that independence for Capraria may be an option if the Caprarian people desire so. However, Rijeka still hopes for the Solaren National Congress to overcome the internal conflicts and issue a new constitution, its failure to do so the main source of frustration within Caprarian political circles.

A minor earthquake shook western Carentania about one hour ago, reaching four points on the Richter-scale. The epi-center of the quake was evaluated to be in the center of the pearlbay and consquently, the cities along the coral-coast were hit hardest. Still, only light damage was recorded and authorities have reported that there have been few victims with only light injuries.

These are the news:

A man arrested in the Cantignian capital claims to be a Carentanian spy after being accused of inciting local unrest. Carentanian authorities have refused to comment on this, saying it is longstanding policy neither to confirm nor deny any intelligence activity. However, the embassy in Vesper is in contact with the local authorities to evaluate whether the man is a Carentanian citizen and would thus be eligible for legal aid by the Workers' Republic. The Commissariate for Foreign Affairs also warned Cantignia about trying to pin the blame for the domestic situation on foreign powers, stating that the main reason for the rioting is the harboring of Solaren terrorists within its borders.

Additional troop contingents will be deployed to the Carentanian base on Iscla, Solaren, the Commissariate for Defence announced. While reducing troop strength on the mainland, the Workers' Republic will deploy additional units of jet fighters and bombers on the island off the eastern coast of Solaren to supplement remaining forces on the ground. Iscla has been steadily expanded since the start of the occupation and has become Carentanias largest base in Solaren, with the Workers' Republic expressing interest in continuing the lease of the base with any future Solaren government.

The University of Jablanica has inaugurated their first computer, the massive structure officially being the 19th currently active electronical calculator in Carentania. More than 4000 vacuum tubes were built into the computer and a water cooling system keeps them on operational temperature. Although not the largest computer in Carentania, the machine termed UJEC - University of Jablanica Electronical Calculator - will greatly aid research projects at the University of Jablanica and is itself an astounding feat of human engineering capabilities, lighting the way into a brighter future.

The European Cosmonautical Union has called upon High School and College students to participate in their work, announcing that several challenges await anyone wishing to join the scientific effort of the socialist states to reach the cosmos. Interested students can contact their teachers for material and those who propose viable solutions to the problems encountered by scientists will be officially honored. With this project, the ECU hopes not only to involve additional smart brains in their projects, but also to interest young minds in science.

Goldstein Motors has unvealed its newest model, the GM 1954 Žrebec, a four-door sedan designed to accomodate the needs of families. The car features a fully automatic transmission and a six-cylinder motor generating 110 horsepowers. Its design follows tried and tested design principles, with strong lines but curved edges. First vehicles are expected to leave the factories by the end of next month, from which they will be supplied to the councils, who can decide how to distribute the new models.

Will Cardinal Mitja Stanislav Kodrič, head of the Archdiocese of Near Himyar, be the next Pope of the Tiburan Catholic Church? The Cardinal, who lives in Rijeka and is representing all Catholics in Carentania as well as a few believers in neighbouring countries like muslim Jurzan, is believed to have good chances at being seated atop the holy chair. His attempts to reconcile Socialism and Christianity had been criticized in the past, but the recent years have seen drastic changes in Europe and Kodrič may just be the right, open-minded man to lead the church into modernity.

These are the news:

The Cathiopan sponsored Conference on Decolonization of Himyar is threatening to turn sour, Carentanian diplomats warn, as colonial powers try to weaken and subvert the strength of the declarations of the conference. According to the Carentanian delegation, the Socialist states are currently fighting hard to prevent the removal of references to independence from the declarations - an accomodation to the colonial powers proposed by Cathiopa itself. "If this passes," the Carentanian delegation has warned, "this is no longer a conference on the decolonization of Himyar, but a conference to legitimize the continued foreign rule over Himyari lands." The Workers' Republic has continuedly stressed that peaceful decolonization is in the interest of colonial powers as well, "as the people of Himyar are well capable of fighting foreign rule with more than words," as Commissar for Foreign Affairs Tomas Jerman said.

Reports from the barren far-eastern country of Boliatur indicate a cruel massacre being committed by forces of the self-proclaimed Khan of Boliatur. According to eye-witnesses, small units of the Khan in civilian clothing had managed to infiltrate beyond the frontlines of the forces of Jurchen Marshal Dorgon, massacring a village loyal to the revolutionary cause and destroying a grain storage therein. Carentanian government has condemned the act, stating that this is a clear violation of established minimal standards for the protection of civilian life in times of war and a "morally disgusting act".

Information provided by the Agency for Covert Investigations has prevented a bombing attack on the city of Paki, Commissariate for Inner Security reports. While no arrests could be made, militia units managed to raid a Mezhist hideout and secure four kilos of explosives and a partially finished nailbomb. The ACI reports that this bomb was intended to go off on a Paki beach that is a known meeting spot for homosexual deviants. Authorities are still in pursuit of the group that styles itself "Mezhist Liberation League".

The Republic of Cathiopia decries the false journalism of Carentanian Public Broadcasting, and the deliberate misrepresentation of Cathiopian policy by Carentanian diplomats. Cathiopia has only suggested the removal of references to independence in one of the many documents proposed at the conference, and this was to ensure as many Native Himyaris as possible have their political and economic rights guaranteed by international treaty.

From the statements of Carentanian officials, it is clear the Worker's Republic has no genuine concern for the future or welfare of Black Himyaris, only seeing their struggle for liberation as an opportunity to further advance socialist ideology.

Carentanias stance on this matter is, that even a partial retreat from the goal of decolonization weakens the message of this conference and that the issue of treatment of colonial subjects was already adressed by the International Resolution against Genocide, which Carentania sponsored and many colonial nations have signed under public pressure - but which, curiously, Cathiopia has decried as a socialist charade.

We must beg the question which of the two governments exactly strives not for the wellbeing of Himyari people, but rather to increase its own political prestige.

We are puzzled about the decision of the Carentanian Armed Forces to deploy fighters and bombers on the island of Iscla. To what extent are they only meant for use in Solaren?

Air support is the quickest and most effective way of reinforcing patrols in the countryside that have come under attack by Urban loyalists still hiding out in the more remote areas of Solaren. Terrorist cells in Solaren trying to ambush occupation troops are generally unequipped to fight back against air support and the use of these assets has allowed us to decrease the overall size of the Carentanian deployment, reducing the impact of occupation on the everyday life of the common Solareners.

We didn't question the need for air support in Solaren; that need was already clear to us. Our concern is the location of the air support. Why has been chosen for Iscla and not for mainland Solaren?

We're here today with a special report on the Valkanian crisis:

Scanian nation of Valkany, infamous for its genocidal colonial campaign earlier this year, is growing increasingly belligerent towards socialist nations. Following a diplomatic feud with Tyrrhenia, resulting in the mutual de-recognition, Valkany has now announced an embargo on the nation of Kyiv. The Commissariate for Foreign Affairs has stated that the Workers' Republic will not tolerate this kind of campaign against outspoken critics of its colonial massacres and warned Valkany that a fight against the Socialist nations is not a fight it can win.

Furthermore the Commissar criticized Valkanian reforms in the East Cape, stating that it was all too obvious Valkany acted not with regret to its actions or recognition of the rights of Black Himyaris in mind, but solely due to outside pressure and with the constant desire to evade such pressure. Even though Commissar Jerman noted a certain satisfaction at having managed to pressure Valkany into granting minimum standards, he expressed worries at the rushed pace of the elections, expressing fears that this might serve to prevent the native population from participating in the vote and was a deliberate plan to use white settlers to justify continued control over the Eastern Cape.

"What we need now is a definite roadmap to independence of the Eastern Cape and a foreign Commission to oversee this process," the Commissar said. Representatives from Kyiv, Tyrrhenia and Havenshire were invited to a meeting and the government hopes to be able to work out a joint strategy with its allies in regards to Valkany. "The goal of all our efforts is an independent Eastern Cape," Jerman concluded.

Meanwhile, volunteers from different Carentanian civil rights and labour organizations have left for the Eastern Cape to help encourage blacks to register for voting, cast their vote in upcoming elections and claim full legal equality. "Don't let freedom be an idle promise," the motto of the campaign reads.

These are the news:

Attempts to convince Valkany to end its hostile policies towards the socialist world have been declared a failure by the Commissariate for Foreign Affairs, which announced it would order the end of all trade with the Scanian nation and its nationals. Following a export sanctions to Himyari colonial powers raised by Kyiv as a sign of protest to the refusal of the imperialist nations to agree to the goal of decolonization of Himyar, Valkany had placed total embargo on Kyiv and Tyrrhenia. Tyrrhenia, just like Carentania, had protested the Valkanian embargo as disproportionate overreaction. "We anticipate a similiar reaction from Valkany towards the Workers' Republic," the Commissariate for Foreign Affairs commented.

Is the upcoming movie Roses of Liangang by award-winning producer Ema Zupan, racist? That is what a number of Carentanian-Vangalan protestors in eastern Zidani have claimed after learning that all actors of the movie are white. This includes actors for the roles of Yujinese characters in the movie. "The final movie will be a quality product and immersion won't be broken. We use state of the art make-up artists to make the Yujinese characters believable," Ema Zupan commented on the protest, further saying that he is the only one who brings events from such a distant and foreign country to the movie theaters.

A man was severely injured by military guards last night, after reportedly trying to sneak into the Cazma shipyards where work on Carentanias latest aircraft carrier is underway. According to a press statement of the military, the man resisted arrest and, when appeared to be reaching for a weapon, was gunned down. He is currently hospitalized and remains unconscious and in a critical condition. An official investigation is already underway and the guards who shot him have been suspended from active service for the duration of the investigation. "We hope the intruder survives this incident and regains consciousness, so we can inspect his motivations for entering the compound," the Commissions spokesperson commented.

These are the news:

Carentania directs harsh criticism towards Ivernia, after its government expressed content at the constitution of the Eastern Cape. "The Workers' Republic has repeatedly clarified that this constitution and the supposed autonomy of the Eastern Cape are a mockery of all demands the European continent had towards Valkany," the Commissariate for Foreign Affairs commented. "To see Ivernia so eager to resume business as usual with Valkany is undermining all efforts of the international community at keeping the pressure on Valkany strong enough to make them realize the concessions they had already promised."

In reaction to Valkanian comments about a possible war with the RDTO, Carentanian troops along the Long Sea have been placed on increased alert and a limited mobilization of units responsible for the defense of the northern coast has been enacted by the Commissar for Defence. Active personnel as well as reservists are to report to their local council to clarify, whether they are affected by this measure. At the same time, the Commissar for Foreign Affairs stressed that this measure is merely defensive: "We have only mobilized forces directly responsible for the defense of our shores in case Valkany attempts something stupid," Commissar Jerman said. "We will not interfere with regular daily ship traffic in the Long Sea in any way."

Meteorological institutes predict heavy rainfall throughout the coming week in all of Carentania. The Commissariate for Public Security has warned that this may render certain areas in the Haemians as well as the Dragha mountains dangerous due to mudslides and torrent formation. Rangers will mark all dangerous paths with signs, but it is advised to refrain from trips into the wilderness in general for the next two weeks. Camping sites in affected areas will be closed down.

These are the news:

Both Kyiv and Valkany have reported the loss of military ships in the Gothic Sea, pointing to a possible engagement of fleets of both nations. A similiar incident involving an attack on Tyrrhenian peacekeepers in the Eastern Cape was also reported. Neither nation has openly blamed another for the assaults, but Valkany has openly implicated a socialist involvement. Carentania has expressed worry over the incidents, stating that they may be the result of Valkanian propaganda and rogue elements within the Scanian nations military. "Valkanian officials, who tried to use the invention of RDTO threats to distract from the Eastern Cape, may have created a situation of paranoia amongst its military." The Workers' Republic has called upon Valkany to exercise restraint and continue current negotiations about a possible independence for the Eastern Cape.

Following the abandonment of the procedure of lobotomy by the Eiffelländer health service, numerous psychiatrists in Carentania have petitioned the Commissariate for Public Health to follow suit. According to the petition, the procedure is invasive, dangerous and medically unnecessary, carrying too grave risks for dubious rewards. While defendants of the procedure are already rallying, the Commissariate for Public Health has already implied it may direct the issue to the next All-Workers Congress to let Carentanias highest political body make a decision on the matter.

Bishop Mancuso, head of the Solaren Catholic church in Carentania, has received a number of death threats which the Commissariate for Inner Security reportedly is taking very serious. Mancuso, like most of the Solaren Catholics in Carentania, have regarded Pope Urban as usurper of the Solaren government. It is therefore considered most likely that the death threats are coming from the direction of loyalists of the old pope. Investigations into the affair have been taken up by the Agency for Covert Investigations. The bishop had received similiar threats during the war against Solaren.

These are the news:

Valkany has folded to international pressure and granted the Eastern Cape full independence, transferring the responsibility for the colony during the transition period to the Commission on Decolonization of Himyar. In doing so, Valkany has met Carentanian demands and the Commissariate for Foreign Affairs has expressed its satisfaction: "This proves our approach right." The Workers' Republic has ended all sanctions on trade with Valkany, arguing that normalization of the relationship to the scanian country is now important to prevent reactionary, revanchist factions from gaining strength in the wake of the political crisis.

Following what Carentanian officials have described as "succesful cooperation" with Kyiv, the Workers' Republic announced that it had approached its allies in Tyrrhenia and Havenshire to discuss a possible invitation of Kyiv to the Revolutionary Defense Treaty Organization. According to a government release, both Carentanian allies were positive about a possible membership of the KNRR in the socialist alliance and the RDTO has consequently approached the Kyivan authorities. A decision of the Kyivan government about whether to sign the treaty is expected within the next days.

Construction of the international airport in the city of Barca has begun with an official ceremony. Commissar for Economic Planning, Nejc Zupančič, who had the honor of laying down the first stone, commented: "This is another important step in the developement of the socialist economy and will hopefully help to make Carentania more accessible to the workers of Europe." The city on the western coast of Carentania was chosen as location of the fourth Carentanian airport servicing civilian flights to stimulate the growth of the entire trans-Haemian region. Plans of the Commissariate foresee the building up of the coral coast to a tourist destination of international importance.

Thank you for tuning in and welcome to Carentania Public Broadcasting.

With us here right now is Ms. Natasha Sorokin, member of Carentanias diplomatic corps and our interview partner from the Commissariate for Foreign Affairs. We will talk with her a bit about the Eastern Cape.

Ms. Sorokin, welcome on air. The RDTO has recently drawn some criticism from foreign powers for its role in the Eastern Cape. Can you give us some insight on that?

Well, no one should really be surprised. As socialist states, Carentania and its allies will of course always draw opposition from reactionary powers as we advance the cause of a free proletariat. Any argument will be fielded to criticize our actions. It's almost ironic that nations who maintain far fledged colonial empires now accuse the RDTO of intending to subjugate the Eastern Cape. My advise is not to count the number of critics, but the number of capitalist states that are, nevermind the ideological differences, seeing a joint cause here. The RDTO has acted with great restraint and while we hope for a socialist future for the Eastern Cape, we know we can't force the progress of history and Socialism will come to the Cape when its people are ready.

One of the most vocal opponents of socialist involvement in the Eastern Cape is Portusgalia, which has gone so far as to mobilize troops and prepare its military for warfare.

We are taking these threats very serious. Portusgalia must naturally feel threatened, as the decolonization of Himyar has begun in the direct neighbourhood of its own colonial venture. Furthermore, Portusgalia has made overtures to the Cape before, expressing its desire to annex the former Valkanian colony. Considering this, the Commissars have recently decided to revise Carentanias stance on the matter and deploy a peacekeeping force after all, with the explicit intent of containing Portusgalian aggression.

Portusgalia is not the only threat to the Eastern Cape. There are numerous reports of violent incidents and armed banits in the region. A number of unarmed Valkanian reconstruction workers have been assaulted as well.

Of course, preventing the destabilization of the country in the wake of these drastic changes is another priority of Carentanian involvement in the efforts at the Cape. However, in regards to the Valkanian deployment, I will have to express my feelings that it was a mistake to let Valkany be involved. The general assumption was that Valkany could begin to compensate the Eastern Capers for the years of colonial oppression it inflicted upon them, but we should have known that the presence of a Valkanian deployment was too much of a provocation. Carentania will push for an end of Valkanian presence to not further destabilize the region through this.

What about the Valkanian appointed interim government?

The Commissariate for Foreign Affairs has not yet formulated a definite stance on this matter. On the one hand, the legitimacy of this government is dubious, to say the least, and its commitment to the cause of independence doubtful. On the other hand, we can not topple the entire infrastructure of government in the Eastern Cape from the outside and expect things to improve. Ultimately, Carentania will have to coordinate with the Commission on Decolonization of Himyar, but my opinion is that it is best to leave the interim government as it is until the election while closely monitoring it, intervening whenever we feel native rights are overstepped or colonial bias is guiding the hands of the interim government.

Meanwhile, Valkanys government has been extradited to Ivernia to face a trial for the genocidal actions in the Eastern Cape. Valkany had agreed to face investigation in the matter by an international commission. Isn't the Ivernian role in this contradicting Carentanian demands?

Theoretically, one could perceive it as such, but we have to understand that at one point in the recent past, things happened really fast and Valkany found itself pressured not by a coordinated effort of the European community, but by many different powers acting on behalf of the international outcry. Valkany agreed to contradicting demands and now we will have to let room for interpretation. We have no doubt that the trial in Ivernia will be a just one and that the investigation will be thorough, so we are willing to let Ivernia proceed, sanctioned by the terms Valkany had agreed to. Carentania is delegating its responsibility in this matter and this matter alone to Ivernia and we believe other signatories of the resolution against genocide will follow.

How do you perceive the chances of a socialist victory at the upcoming elections in the Eastern Cape?

They are good, but it is by no means a foregone conclusion. Our comrades in the Eastern Cape will not only need to rally the black voters to the polls, they will also need to bridge the race-gap, uniting the proletarian class beyond the divide driven between them by racist colonial policies. I do expect that foreign powers will do their utmost in preventing a socialist victory at the polls, so it is not only a question of whether the Eastern Cape itself is ready to choose Socialism, but also whether the RDTO is strong enough to deter any aggression directed at it from reactionary powers.

Thank you very much. This was Natasha Sorokin, speaking on behalf of the Commissariate for Foreign Affairs about the future of an independent Eastern Cape. And now, for some music: It's Carentanian jazz hour here at CPB...

These are the news:

Following the admission of Kyiv into the Revolutionary Defense Treaty Organization, the RDTO memberstates are now contemplating the application of gallo-germanic nation Cantignia. Cantignia, a broken country ever since its defeat as monarchy and EDF-member in the August Catastrophy, has seen a quick rise to importance of a christian brand of a socialist movement and while supporters of its RDTO membership deem this an individual aspect of communism in Cantignia, opponents fear that these christian communists may be reactionaries dressed in red.

Cardinal Kodrič, previous to his departure for Tiburtina in order to attend the conclave that will choose a new pope, harshly criticized the decision of the Holy See to apply for membership in a military alliance: the Gallo-Occidental Defense Council. According to the Cardinal, this recent decision threatens to pull the church into "worldly conflicts" and jeopardizes the role of Tiburan Catholicism as, how Kodrič said: "ambassador between the powers." The Cardinal has commented that he envisions the church as neutral and moralic entity, that will help christian ideals blossom in Europe untouched by the concerns of geopolitics.

Carentania will increase its aid to the People's Republic of Seora, the Commissar for Foreign Affairs announced. The country, which had only recently gained independence from Yujin and whose independence Carentania recognized as one of the first countries in Europe, finds itself facing both Imperial Yujiner resistance, Takatoriite terrorists infiltrating the country from the south as well as anti-communist militias. "It is our responsibility to support the Seoran people, until they can stand firmly on their own feet," Commissar Jerman said. Additional loans will be given to Seora at preferential interest rates. Furthermore, Carentania will send military advisors and trainers, a contingent of medical volunteers, political advisors for the construction of an administrative infrastructure in the country and to help the formation of local councils, as well material aid shipments. Finally, the Revolutionary Guards Corps will deploy additional aerial assets to help with the defense of the Seoran country.

These are the news:

With the launch of the Revolutionary Navy corvette Raised Fist the Workers' Republic has finished the construction of the sixth military vessel since the beginning of the year. The construction of these corvettes along those still resting unfinished within the shipyards of the country, had been ordered with the start of the Yujinese war against socialism. Intended to secure the far fetching supply lines, corvettes accompany and protect the many transport ships that are sending Carentanian supplies to Vangala and Seora, intended to bolster the defenses of these young socialist republics and to support Hongmenghui forces in Yujin itself.

A military coup d'etat in the scanian nation of Valkany has Carentanian officials worried, as reports of an otherwise unconfirmed communist insurgency are used to justify the overthrowal of the state by the military. "We are witnessing the backlash of the military-industrial complex in Valkany that lost considerable capital and power in the abandoning of the Eastern Cape colony," the Commissariate for Foreign Affairs assessed the situation in the country. "It is therefore unsurprising that the nature of this coup is both anti-communist, as communists pushed Valkany into abandoning the Cape, and anti-monarchist, as the monarchy had disappointed the Valkanian elites by surrendering to foreign pressure." The Workers' Republic has announced its intention to reduce embassy staff to a bare minimum in the next days, issued a travel warning for the country and announced its willingness to offer political asylum to all those persecuted in Valkany.

Carentanian peacekeepers, consisting of the Seventh Guards Brigade, have left for the Eastern Cape. Throughout the week, Carentania will begin deploying units in the former Valkanian colony to secure the peace and to stabilize the country during the volatile transition period. The 5000 men of the Seventh Guards Brigade, a mechanized infantry unit, have served as peace-keepers in Solaren until summer last year, when Carentania reduced its presence in Solaren and withdrew the brigade. Carentanian experience from Solaren will likely prove valuable in the Eastern Cape and the Workers' Republic has announced its willingness to dispatch military advisors to help less experienced forces in their efforts to protect the population.

Thank you for tuning in and welcome to Carentania Public Broadcasting.

Here with us today are Professor Zohan Roth and Dr. Avid Pappadopolous. They are both political scientists working for the University of Paki and the University of Cazma, respectively, researching on revolutionary theory and social dynamics. Both are here with the CPB to discuss Cantignias application for the Revolutionary Defense Treaty.

Prof Roth, Dr. Pappadopolous, you have opposing viewpoints on Cantignias application even though you are both known as convinced Communists. Where does your analysis differ?

R.: I believe our main difference is the interpretation of the religious elements found within the social movements in Cantignia. My opinion is that these are indirectly tying the proletarian masses back to the monarcho-capitalist elites and their moralic standards, thus denying the revolutionary impetus of the Cantignian people to ever be expressed to its full intent. Religious institutions and leaders have adopted Socialism to tame it.

P.: I couldn't disagree more. The way I perceive the changes in Cantignia, the fusion with religious elements has allowed Socialism to breach its cultural isolation. Tried and tested scare tactis and propaganda failed to work once Cantignian Communism had transcended that point, because its adoption and interconnectivity with the christian gospel as it was preached, not as it was lived, undermined the foundation of social rule in Cantignia.

How would, in your eyes, an RDTO membership affect Cantignian society?

P.: I believe that an RDTO membership would strengthen the communist movement and allow parts of the movement to voice critical opinions that would threaten revolutionary unity at this point. Cantignia would be firmly set on a path to Socialism and a greater degree of plurality within the socialist movement would be possible, as threats to the progress of the Cantignian mode of revolution could be faced by the combined might of the free world.

R.: Quite to the contrary, an RDTO membership would firmly entrench the current - non socialist - elites in their positions of power against the looming threat of social revolution. The RDTO could eventually find itself in the delicate position of having to decide between supporting an allied government or the cause of communist revolution. To call this counterproductive to the RDTO's intended goal of securing the progress of mankind and its social achievements would be a great understatement.

The RDTO has, with Tyrrhenia, already a member where religious Socialism is very present.

R.: And I think Tyrrhenia is a good example as to how religious dogma is counter-productive to the spread of a revolutionary consciousness and a radical understanding of reality. Tyrrhenias government recently claimed that christianity and communism had the same goal, a world based on altruism. On the issue of altruism, I want to quote Marx: "Communists preach no morality." Marx knew fully well that the distinction between altruistic and egoistic was very much dependant on the historical conditions of the bourgeoise society itself and thus, Capitalism can't be overcome by invoking altruism.

P.: This isn't so much about invoking altruism, as it is about pointing to the fact that these societies that are always speaking of civilization, of christianity and the noble ideals of the bible are the ones that could never and will never be realized by the bourgeoise states. In that sense, socialism isn't turning to religion, but religion is turning to socialism as it becomes aware of this contradiction.

One of the primary fields of agitation for communists in Cantignia right now is the fight against Solaren radicals that operate from within the country. Doesn't that mean that, whether we want it or not, the Christian Communists are already allies of the RDTO?

P.: Pretty much. Urbanist militias are on the forefront of anti-communist violence, so it is only natural we must stand together. The effects of anti-communist threats I've described earlier in regards to Cantignia hold true on a grander scale as well, we are forced to ignore differences for the sake of protecting what unifies us. Only when we've overcome these threats can we progress beyond this point of socialist plurality and evolve based on the inner-socialist contradictions. But trying to push these to the now, fights that have to be fought AFTER the revolution, means sacrificing the entire revolution and ignoring the historical task at hand, the overthrowal of the capitalist system.

R.: I don't think the fights against Solareners in Cantignia have much of anything to do with a defense of revolution and progress. They are, at heart, xenophobic riots and that's all discussion they deserve.

You've outlined the two opposing sides of this argument very well. Now, let us listen to a reported in the ground, in Cantignia. Live on the phone with us here is Stepan Tadic, CPB reporter...
