The Tsardom of Shcherbatskaya finds these developments most startling. The Tsardom would like to inquire the future of the Spa Republic and if there will be a unification in light of the new elections. If not, a process of unification would be readily sponsored by the Tsardom.
Should Spa not wish to unify we would like to engage in a private meeting aboard our nearby stationed fleet to discuss the reasoning behind such course of action.
As per usual the Tsardom's friendship is at the disposal of the Batavian people and our actions surely have helped create a new Batavië. We would like to immediately establish relations with this new Batavië once elections have taken their course.
Regards,
Ее превосходительство

This turn of events is remarkable from our point of view. His Majesty's Government will deliberate with its EDF allies what measures will be taken to respond to this new situation.
The Imperial government is highly concerned about the recent developments in Batavie and will push for a quick solution to the issue in the framework of the Council of Nations, warning all states against rash and unilateral action that would force actions with unforeseeable consequences in the crisis area. This also means that we expect all states to recognize the territorial integrity of the Batavian state. There remains but one Batavian state that is to exercise full control over all of its territories.

Four Political Parties are Accepted by Election Commission for Listing on Ballot
Vlaanderen, Batavië
The specially-appointed Election Commission today accepted nominations for four political parties to be listed on the 12. March national election ballots. The Bataafsche Arbijders Partij (BAP), incumbent in government, was first to be listed. New parties that have been operating as weak opposition parties also made their bids. The Bataafsche Socialistische Democratisch Partij (BSDP), Nieuw Alliance Batavië Partij (NABP) and the Vrije Democraten (VD) also made it onto the ballot. The Batavian Republican Army did not make a request to be represented on the ballot and likely would not have been accepted given the more paramilitary set-up of the group rather than a political organisational one.
Election posters have been plastered all over bus stops, building walls and other empty spaces in Vlaanderen, Poortstad, Hilversum and De Grenz. Rural areas have also seen posters brought to their areas. Manifestos of the parties are also being distributed and they are highly sought. This being the first national elections in over sixty years, the people are hungry for new options.

Batavian CN ambassador 'worried' over Oikawan attempts to bypass most recent resolution.
The city of Poortstad, the port city of the capital, Vlaanderen, saw its first act of BRA terror today when a Local Police officer was gunned down in cold blood in front of hundreds of witnesses. The gunmen escaped and was later shot dead by Ground Force soldiers in the Dock District.
Many in transitional government doubt that there will be CN peacekeepers on ground before the elections and some have expressed fears that the BRA and military may enter bloody clashes in the days leading up to the elections.
Vangala cannot continue to co-operate with Batavia on the same level following the military coup d'état and has decided to terminate all bilateral agreements and programmes. For security reasons, we have also decided to close our Embassy in Vlandeeren and all consulates and are urging all Vangalan citizens to return to the Motherland if they have not done so.
We regret to hear this news coming from Vangala. Unfortunately all borders remain sealed until the elections are finished for security reasons. As long as Vangalans in Batavië stay clear of protests and hot spots, they should be perfectly safe.
With attacks by the terrorist Batavian Republic Army occuring daily, we doubt claims about the safety and security of Vangalans in Batavia and we ask that the interim authorities accomodate our requests. Vangala can arrange the necessary transport.

CN Ambassador Arranged Bilateral Peace with Shcherbatskaya
Augsburg, Wiese
Thanks to Hajri mediation and arrangement of a meeting, Hans Rembrandt met with a diplomat from Shcherbatskaya to work out a bilateral peace arrangement and to prevent bloodshed between the two countries. In a civil and quick meeting they drafted a simple document to outline the cessation of violence.
Meanwhile the many delegations in Augsburg continue to debate the composition of a peacekeeping force in Batavië as daily police and soldier killings continue. A Frankish-led and Hajri-backed resolution could, if put up for voting and passed, allow for Montelimaran troops to land first until the Commission for the Stabilisation of Batavië is finished picking and choosing. In response to the recent CN activity, the transitional government has despatched extra aides and delegates to assist the current five-man team in Augsburg. A further three aides flew to Wiese today to begin work, which, as Ambassador Rembrandt put it, 'will make getting a hold of the Batavian delegation easier and lighten our individual work loads.'
Ambassador Rembrandt is also supposedly meeting with the Oikawan ambassador for lunch today in his country chalet outside the city. It is hoped that a compromise to end the impasse can be reached.

The meeting between officials from Batavie and Shcherbatskaya is indeed a most beneficial turn of events and The Kingdom of Belmont hopes that this resolution will lead to peace and stability in the region.
Vangala welcomes a peaceful resolution to the conflict between Batavia and Shcherbatskaya. However, Shcherbatskaya still committed an unforgiveable act that needs to be punished to deterr other rogue regimes from engaging in murderous actions.

Transitional Cabinet Meets to Discuss Upcoming Election
Vlaanderen, Batavië
Despite continued BRA drive-by shootings and café bombings the transitional government's cabinet met in the Government District today to discuss and plan the upcoming 12 March general elections. The task is daunting as an election of this scale and calibre has never been done in the country before. 'We lack basic things such as ballot boxes and equipment to set up polling stations.' commented one official who wished to remain anonymous.
After four hours of going through details the cabinet sent out a request to the Council of Nations for election observers. They want them not only to observe the elections but to also come early and help set up and run the polling stations. The newly created Batavian Election Commission has already designated polling stations throughout the country.
'Now we need experts from established democracies around the world to show us how it is best done.' said the same official.
The voting tickets and ballots have already been printed with five political parties on the list for choosing. One thing is for sure, despite there being a lack of organisation, the political parties know exactly how to promote themselves with colourful and glossy posters plastered on walls everywhere you turn and even small rallies in Hilversum and Vlaanderen.

Former Foreign Commissar, Arjan van Vliet, Returns from Hiatus

Arjan van Vliet disappeared from the country in January
Vlaanderen, Batavië
Commotion struck the international airport in Vlaanderen today when Arjan van Vliet returned from a nearly two month-long hiatus. Mr Van Vliet has served as Commissar of Foreign Affairs for 15 years and suddenly disappeared from the country days after Supreme Leader Jap de Graaf died. He gave no reason for his departure and no one knew where he was during the entire time. His first action upon his return was the scheduling of a meeting with the leader of the Batavian Social Democratic Party, Mr Alex de Jonghe.
With national elections tomorrow many find this sudden return a little too convenient. Some have even accused Mr Van Vliet of acting in a purely opportunist fashion. Yet with his impressive background and curriculum vitae, should his meeting with Mr de Jonghe go well he could likely secure a top cabinet position if the Social Democrats win tomorrow.
Polling stations have been set up across the country except for the city of Spa and its surrounding areas. The BRA has refused an offer to allow the vote to take place in their held territory. Security is tight with a curfew in affect from 19.00 this evening until 05.00 in the morning. Citizens will need to show their domestic passport in order to vote as well as submit to a fingerprint collection to ensure identification. Despite threat from the BRA, which says it will target polling stations, most people in Vlaanderen say they plan to vote tomorrow. Businesses must remain closed to ensure everyone has the opportunity to cast their vote
'There have been multiple police and soldier shootings per day in the capital alone and a bomb attack two or three times per week. But the people of the capital want to vote.' said Alex de Jonghe. His party, the Social Democrats, is leading in the polls and is expected to win tomorrow with a majority government.

CN Ambassador Hans Rembrandt will enter negotiations with third parties to secure peacekeepers outside the framework of the CN after Oikawan and Levantine delegations stall discussions in the Security Council.
Weather in south of country is expected to warm up slightly to 13 degrees Celsius making it an even better day to go out to the polls. The north, around Spa, will have rain, but there are no polling stations in the BRA-held areas.
Thousands of temporary workers have been hired to count ballots and run/monitor polling stations in absence of international election observers.
Vangala will promote the reconciliation between members of the former socialist government of Batavia and the new regime and urges Batavians to do likewise.
