Wiese and the rest of the European governments that are claiming there's cooperation between the Kingdom of Belmont and the Republic are called to reconsider such remarks as our actions are not done to help Paris, only assuring that these governments are in the wrong. We are merely seeking to keep the war from turning into a global war, yet it seems there are nations out there that would love to see such war to occur, and we are sorry to see that Wiese, a so call neutral state and where the seat of the Council of Nations is located, seems to be one of these states.

We also call on the state of Wiese to stop acting as the voice of God on earth by such statements. Last time we checked, that is the authority of the Papacy, unless of course, Wiese has become a theocracy.

Furthermore, we will go to Batavia only if all combatant states send delegates first. Once all these nations have sent delegates shall we attend say conference.

"I urge my counterpart in Frescania to double-check his fact before making baseless accusations at the face of His Imperial Majesty. Never has this country claimed or attempted to speak for God, and in the eleven-decades-old history of our nation we have stood as His Holiness' most loyal lieutenants. It is our intention to continue to be guided by Christian thought and to express our humble beliefs, rather than claim to speak on His behalf.

"In addition, I take offence at your blatant misinterpretation of our intentions. We do not wish to see this conflict escalated, but Frescania's aggressive behaviour, which has included actions such as opening fire on neutral warships and severely restricting maritime passage in the area, hardly assist in preserving peace. Instead, they further escalate tensions.

"It is our opinion that if truly neutral maritime restrictions with the aim of preventing the spread of war are to be placed, they should unilaterally and universally include any and all combatants without discrimination, and not only specific ones, such as at present time. In addition, these should not impair international maritime trade by unprovokedly opening fire, even in the form of warning shots, at neutral ships crossing these waters.

"However we do commend you for your positive approach towards negotiations over the conflict's end, and hope that the governments of Belmont, Carentania and Coronado, and any other involved state, will accept the offers for mediation and put an end to their conflicts
peacefully."

It is our honor-bound duty to deliver to the Frescanian government a message of our shock and astonishment at the blatantly offensive statement made on behalf of the Frescanian government against all Protestants on the Earth, in their vocal expression of support to the Papacy. Such comments disregard the religious beliefs of millions of non-Catholic Christians throughout the world and do little to improve interdenominational dialogue.

Regards,
His Excellency John Pembleton,
Archbishop of Southkeep-on-Sea

'Clearly with these latest reports coming from Belmont about peace talks not being 'viable', the world can see and judge for itself who wants peace and who does not. It is quite sad indeed. Negotiations and peace are always viable for those who desire it.'

"I must agree with my learned collegue, it is disheartening that Belmont would be so unwilling to enter into peace negotiations, but it is understandable considering that Belmont admitted that they did launch a surprise attack... and using such questionable reasons at that."

Lorcán Ó Donnabháin, Éireann's High Representative to the Northern Council when asked to comment on Karl Oosthuizen's statement.

The State Officer in Životinje
to the
State Officer in Belmont; Northern Council

Dispatch No 11
SJADNBRDO, December 28th, 2010
Cleared for Public Dissemination:

Fondly recalling recent ventures which emboldened our confidence in the Belmontien State, primarily its military, the Blue Union Territory of
Životinje is appalled, but not surprised, of how many of these usual suspects from the Northern Council are behaving. Batavië calls for peace, yet still breaks down in to abrupt national lock down just a breath after civil war. Éireann parrots in a typical subordinate fashion, and offers no original solution of its own.

Belmont and Coronado are clearly beyond the stage of directionless dialogue, and we are convinced that peace talks with out purpose lack viability and virtue. Northern Europe condemns this timely intervention not because they disagree with the ultimate consequence, or even immediate consequences, but because they lack the resources or courage to do so themselves.

Belmont has shown that it will always make the hard right over the easy wrong; several nations could benefit from Belmontien tutelage. It requires an inspiring degree of fortitude to challenge injustice in this era of Councils or Leagues, and we are witnessing a hardening of moral fiber accrued from cooperation with Miedzymorze, and the State of Sarmatia.

Belmont's rejection of peace talks are unfortunate yet unsurprising as Belmont has consistently proven itself to be a rogue actor on the world stage, bankrolling brutal military dictatorships across Toyou and fabricating an assassination attempt to justify its aggressive, neo-imperialist foreign policy. Any future discussions should explicitly recognise Belmont as responsible for the conflict and demand reparations for Coronado.

We find it hypocritical on part of the government of the People's Republic to make such claims when they themselves have supported communist insurgents across the globe. Our struggle against communism in Gallia is to restore democracy, freedom and liberty and those who oppose our mission clearly support the oppressive, brutal regime in Toledo.

The State Department remains hopeful that a peaceful solution to the crisis can be found in short order, and re-iterates its call for talks between the two sides, as well as her offer of good offices and diplomatic channels to conduct negotiations through. Further more, we wish to remind all Europe that the Charter of the Council of Nations, a Charter to which both Belmont and Coronado are both full parties, commands member states to seek solutions to disputes first and foremost through diplomatic means; as enunciated in Articles 2(3) and 26 of the Charter. This is not about 'directionless dialogue'; this is about ensuring that the system of international laws that binds all states is respected and properly seen to.

Message From The Office of The Foreign Executor for The Supreme & Sovereign Drakun Imperium
RE: Attempts to Infringe on Belmontian Sovereignty With Demands For Peace Talks
As Approved and Supported by Scepter Gabriel Abeloth

The contrived cries of outrage from the governments who have demanded immediate peace talks are quite honestly, pitiful. They are childish attempts to violate Belmont's national sovereignty by forcing unnecessary, and frankly dangerous ideas of peace talks down Belmont's throat., A leader's sacred duty is to first and foremost protect its citizens. If one is to fail in that aspect, paradise is unreachable and it condemns a nation to the depths of anarchy and failure. Belmont is doing what it must to protect itself, and Europe; this is its divine right and those who say different are nothing more than cowards. Cowards, who refuse to do what's right and hide behind imaginary theories of peaceful co-existence.

A pure, orderly world will not come without an incineration of the evil and inferior. We applaud Belmont for taking those firsts steps towards that beautiful inferno.

Sincerely,
Bruce Olivark
Foreign Executor

REPORT: Carentania should reconsider supporting "parasitic worms", says General Mazarin

Speaking with journalists in a rare press briefing, the Joint Chief of Staff, General Philippe Mazarin, presented the tough face of the country, speaking in his gruff Trégieurien accent, he started with the full disclosure of Belmontien strategy in the current operation. "Our goals in Coronado are not to bring further suffering to the people... we want to see liberty and freedom reign in our southern brother state that has had the misfortune of falling to the communists' mind rotting ideology." He went on to say, "Those who wish to support the drowning rat that is the socialist regime should remember that the Belmontien military is a modern, highly efficient and powerful fighting force and those who seek to assist the parasitic worms holed up in Toledo must remember we shall meet any attempts to do so with full force."

Moving his attention to the other regional powers, he spoke positively of the Breotish dedication to keeping the sealanes open to neutral traffic and also praised the work of the Frescanian navy to contain the situation an act he called, "something that shall be remembered in the history books as launching Frescania into major power status." When asked about the European Defense Federation, he responded frankly, "Its not in our interests to look to damage our ties with our Francophone brothers... granted, politicians have been squabbling, but I do not think that the issue runs to the people to people level..."

Recent statements have shown the attack on Coronado was motivated by the extremist beliefs of Belmont's leadership, not the attempted assassination of Thomas Martinique, which in fact was an elaborate fabrication by Belmont's intelligence agencies.

The Socialist Republic of Coronado is responsible for the attempted assassination of Mme. Premier Shahrazad Martinique, just the latest in a long list of terrorist actions undertaken by the morally bankrupt regime in Toledo.

News Update
:!: Political leadership hardens resolve: The nation's senior political leadership across party lines met yesterday, joined by the senior military leadership and HRH The Prince Regent. A meeting of such senior officials of the country was held to show to the world that the authorities are united in face of the international criticism being sent towards Paris due to the surprise aerial attack upon the Kingdom's southern neighbor; Coronado. In a joint-statement released by the group, it has been expressly stated that Belmont was fighting to ensure liberty's restoration in Coronado and the eradication of morally bankrupt and terror sponsor regime in Toledo.

:!: Marseilles Stock Exchange to remain closed: After massive amounts of pressure applied upon them by investors, the MSE officials have declared that the MSE was to remain closed for the next four days. This occurs just as stocks are expected to drop and hurt investors.

:!: General Mazarin: "We shall not stop our drive against communist rats" : The chief of the armed forces has said that the armed forces were to push forward and not stop till "the communist citadels of Gallia don't surrender to the forces of liberty, democracy and freedom."

The State Officer in Životinje
to the
State Officer in Belmont; Chief of Armed Forces

Dispatch No. 4
SJADNBRDO, December 28th, 2010
Cleared for Public Dissemination:

While we recognize the unique situation the Chief of Belmont's Armed Forces General Mazarin is found in, we cannot condone the verbal dehumanization of ones enemy, as implied that the common Communist is a rat or parasitic worm.
Circumstances of war often evoke unintended passions of distrust or hate towards race or political disposition that do not reflect the views of a composed statesmen or officer, and the Životun are no exception.

Misguided as the Communist ideology might seem, there is no excuse for dehumanizing its adhering individuals. For when a leader begins to consider the condition of individuals, rather then generalizations, she or he should recognize not only unassailable rights, but also how profoundly human even the most flawed amongst us are. Coronado keeps within itself a staff of plunderers, murderers, and worst of all prevaricators, but each and every one of these enemies of freedom are human. For without a concrete set of democratic virtues, all of us risk being ungrounded by the lure of power.

Životinje does not call for a retraction, or an apology, from General Mazarin. We do ask that Belmont makes clear their intention to truly cultivate freedom, with which comes tolerance to opposing points of view. A war of this caliber can only be justified by the intent to assert equality, in a place that clearly lacks it.

We greatly applaud the actions of Životinje in response to the dehumanization of the soldiers citizens of Coronado. It is admirable to see that honor and morals are ever present around the world.

Also we think that General Mazarin has gone too far in his statements. Apart from our opinion about this war, General Mazarin's opponents are still human beings and ought to be treated that way.

Unilateral ceasefire announced by Government under pressure from civil society and business community

With the domestic opposition to the devastating aerial attack against Coronado getting stronger, the Government has announced that the Royal Armed Forces were to announce a unilateral ceasefire and declared that the option of attending NC sponsored talks has been discussed seriously by "several members of the cabinet". The change in policy comes as the Marseilles Stock Exchange took severe dips and strong opposition within the country against a prolonged war. Rumors are further afloat that the Government has changed its position after the threat coming from the EDF has increased, due to several naval deployments by Franken in the region, and little to no support coming from Belmont's own allies.

We sincerely hope that this
is an example of disinformation predicated by the Government in Belmont, for a Government must not aspire to maintain the consistency of shredded wheat when introduced to warm milk, it must be as firm as it is fair, thereby steadfast and resolute.

Surely there must be message, a moral nugget, something to gather from a conflict which has only thus far produced an unknown collateral of human life. In its rancor, Belmont has lashed out at critics for lacking vision, but was it your nation who was blind all along? We are naturally concerned by the implications of this, after all, who in their right mind would trust a blind man with a loaded weapon; a blind nation with bombs and bullets?

Životinje will be far from the final inquirer in this affair, as we are sure you do know. The Kingdom of Belmont must remember whom they serve in the days to come, for the peoples sake have courage and conviction. Lives have been turned upside down by this, as will more in time, so implore those at the tables of negotiation to consider the individual and their condition, rather than the etiquette and grovelling which is to be expected with the broad majority of diplomats in Europe.
