Ruberto Morbidelli Confirmed by the Senate as Consul

Today the Senate confirmed Consular Imperium upon Talemaniki Prefect Ruberto Morbidelli formally giving the leader authority as Consul of the Empire. Morbidelli won the election for Talemaniki Prefect as the write in candidate for the Socialist Party. The Prefect of Talemaniki serves as one of the two Consuls of the Senate, while the Emperor is the other Consul.

Despite many vocal opposition by many senators the Senate voted unanimous as tradition to confer authority upon Morbidelli. Speaking outside the Senate steps, Morbidelli gave his first speech as Consul. "The people of this city and this nation have spoken and they want change instead of the frivolous promises that past politicians have given them. It is time that this government starts to work for for the people and not to serve itself at the expense of the people. It is time that we reach out to mend our relations with our neighbors in Jurzan and Carentania. It is time we move forward with progress." Morbidelli was able to win the Prefecture of Talemaniki with campaign promises of governmental reform and economic assistance for the poor.

Also today the palace announced that will will be hosting the traditional Consul's Gala in honor of the new Consul. It is expected that the invitations will be sent out this week to many international leaders and state representatives.

Government Approves Economic Aid Package to Cidonia

Today Chancellor Bishop Florioli announced a new aid package for Cidonia. "In a effort to help our fellow Himyar nation, the Talemantine Empire will work to assist the growing nation rebuild its homeland."

The aid package several shipments of resources to Cidonia to assist in the nations rebuilding. Many of the resources are varying types of building materials, from steel to lumber, including asphalt to build a stronger infrastructure. The aid package also includes large, heavy construction equipment to speed up the process of rebuilding.

The package also includes contracts for oil shipments to Cidonia to arrest the stress in the nation energy demands while they rebuild. In addition the Emperor approved 40 Billion Lire to the new government to help the nation kick-state the economy.

The Secretariat of War is also said to be in talks to sell military equipment to Cidonia.

• Talemantine neighbor the Principality of Altai has gone to war with the Engellex Empire. Secretary of State Carmine Gavallo, along with other high ranking senators, has expressed his deep dissatisfaction with the new government of Altai. Altai recently declared Prince Florian, Despot of Cilicia's wife Tatyana Demian as the new Czarina of Altai.
• Chancellor Bishop Alexis Florioli is in Dulwich, Engellex to finalize a treaty that would binde the two states together. The State Secretariat has stated that this agreement has been in the works for several weeks and they lookforward to the finalization of past negotiations.
• Bartholomew, Ecumenical Patriarch of Talemaniki, will hold a special service at the St. Andrew's Basilica in Talemaniki to pray for the well being of the Orthodox Christians in Altai who remain persecuted in the largely pagan state.

THE Covenant is generally supportive of the Talemantine Empire as both a historical and contemporary presence on the Himyari Continent. Our emphasis on total dominance and security in Oceania assures that these overseas assets from mainland Empires remain functional as conduits for trade.

The entirety of Himyar concerns the hearts and minds of the Talemantine Empire.
We seek peace in our continent and it is by God's grace that Himyar has not been
been dragged into the war in Germania despite the waring nations having territories
on the Continent. It is for this reason we oppose the action of the Altaic nation
when they have yet to know peace within their own nation for any true length of
time.

Currently our information is lacking on the situation in Karoskland and the situation
between Engellex and Cantigny over the territory and we will reserve judgment

• Secretary of State Carmine Gavallo commented on the Altaic participation in the Germanian war. "The provocative moves by Altai threaten to import Germania's cancer to the peaceful states of Himyar. The balance of peace and prosperity that our continent has known for a long period of time is threatened by Altai. • The Secretariat of State released a statement about strengthening the relationships between the Talemantine Empire and the Covenant of Cantigny. The secretariat is in talks of a state visit of the Consistory to the Oceanic state.
• Ecumenical Patriarch of Talemaniki Bartholomew announced plans to form a new foundation in response to the deplorable conditions of the orthodox Christians in Altai. The decades of persecutions of Christians by the Diaginist regimes forced the Christians to take up arms and fight for their rights to worship. The message has been preached in every service across the nation to lend support to our brothers in Christ in Altai.

Empire signs Treaty with Engellex

In Dulwich, Engellex Chancellor Bishop Florioli, finalized and signed a treaty of alliance with the Union of Greater Engellex. This treaty has been the culmination of negotiations for the past month, between the Union and Imperial governments over several aspects.

There were two main aspects of the treaty of alliance with Engellex; Economic and Military. The economic includes a trade agreement to remove trade barriers between the nations primarily concerning agricultural goods and commodities. It also allows Engellex greater access to Talemantine oil at lower prices making the empire one of the main suppliers of oil to the nation of Engellex. The treaty also included a mutual defense pact between the two nation to combat a growing concern over the increasingly interventionist Carentania. Neither government would state how or if this would effect the war in Montelimar.

The palace has state that the emperor will ratify the treaty when it is presented to him.

Empire Declares War on Altai

Today the Empire declared war against Altai in defense of Talemantine ally of Greater Engellex. The empire also went to war in defense of the Orthodox Christians in Altai who have been persecuted and have risen up in rebellion against the state of Altai. This will be the first military endeavor since the disastrous war in Jurzan and the second time the Talemantine Empire has gone to war with Altai, the first being in the 1950s. Following the declaration of war the Talemantine military opened fire upon the Altaic forces along the border.

The Secretariat of War state that they will only accept an unconditional surrender of the Principality of Altai.

In accordance with President Wu's displeasure with the international state of affairs, and Talemantines choice to involve itself in a global crisis which is negatively impacting the Yujin economy, the executive body of Yujin has ordered it's ambassadorial staff to withdraw in protest to the increasing scope of this conflict. Additionally, economic restrictions which are currently being discussed within Yujin's legislative body will extend to Talemantros as a participant in global conflict, as they will to all other countries. Yujin can not permit itself to participate in this conflict in any fashion, economically or militarily; we wish to convey our desire for a speedy end to this conflict and a return to normalized relations between our two nations.

We strongly condemn the declaration of war against Gorno-Altai and the declaration of war by Gorno-Altai against Engellex. These declarations of war only expand a central European conflict into Himyar, a continent that has been capable of living in peace. It is in Frescania's interest to maintain peace in the region and we will take any actions that we feel will continue said stability. Due to this, we demand that both Talemantros and Gorno-Altai come to the table and sign a ceasefire. We demand that both nation stop shedding more blood in Himyar. Until both nations agree on a ceasefire and come to the table, Frescania will be withdrawing high members of our diplomatic corp from both states. Lastly, if a ceasefire is not reach within forty-eight hours, Frescania will take any actions that is deem fit to stop the spread of violence.

Frescania is not the policeman of Himyar nor can Frescania dictate to other sovereign
nations on how they act. Altai attacked an ally of the empire and so we will defend
our ally. Altai brought this fight to Himyar not the Empire. Furthermore, any breach
of our territorial sovereignty by any state will be responded to and it will be they that
spreads violence in Himyar.
