:!: Republic of Jurzan officially recognizes North Ratomkira as a legitimate and independent country

Today, after a few days of debate, Congress has officially voted to side with the Chancellor's request of recognition of the legitimacy of the North Ratomkiran Government and the recognition of the country's independence.

"Not long ago, we went through the same situation as North Ratomkira. A popular government of the people that other nations don't feel they can successfully manipulate are always put down, in their place, an manipulated, slaved government takes control. We did everything we could to remain free and independent, we were successful and now our people will prosper. North Ratomkira is in our situation and we must do our part to aide in their efforts." - Chancellor Khayrat

The overwhelming vote in favor of recognition, was one of the few times Congress almost completely agreed on an issue. Congress agreed that the situation in North Ratomkira was too severe to send diplomats or establish an embassy. Congressmen reminded the legislature of what it was like to have nation's send their wishes rather than anything tangible. Now, Congress agrees that North Ratomkira needs actual tangible help, but Congress continues to debate on what to do to help them.

Limited resources, especially in healthcare and finances, hinder the country's ability to help North Ratomkira without hurting our own people. Some Congressmen stated that Congress should be doing more to help our people before helping those of North Ratomkira. Chancellor Khayrat said he will do what he can to aid the people of North Ratomkira.

The Commonwealth will remind Jurzan that contrary to the Jurzani situation of a developing democracy replacing an authoritarian racist regime, in Ratomkira's case a revolutionary communist government is attempting to replace an authoritarian predecessor. It remains to be concluded that contrary to Jurzan's case, in Ratomkira the consequences of a "revolution" are not in the least preferable ones given the record associated with militant communism in European politics.

We utterly condemn this move by the illegal self-proclaimed state of Jurzan. May Europe once be rid of separatist terrorist-states like Jurzan and so-called North Ratomkira. If one drop of Jurzani oil is found in the North or evidence appears that Jurzan is in any other way supporting the KKP we will do whatever it takes to isolate the Jurzani terrorist organisation even further. We once again wish to show our commitment to the rightful Georgan government.

:!: The Vangalan Mission

Today, Chancellor Khayrat along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced the Vangalan Mission before a live press conference. During the Press Conference, Zurab Nadarejshvili made his appearance, and he spoke on the details of the Vangalan Mission. After his speech, Chancellor Khayrat officially appointed Zurab Nadarejsvhili as the nation's chief diplomat, the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Now Minister Nadarejshvili detailed that the Vangalan Mission was one of the first moves into foreign affairs that the Republic of Jurzan would embark on. Nadarejshvili said he would be opening relations with the nation of Vangala. He hoped to sign a massive trade deal as well as cooperation within the two nations. Nadarejshvili also hoped to work with Vangalan officials on an official policy for North Ratomkira and the Republic's involvement in the area.

Shortly after the brief announcement, Nadarejshvili responded to a South Ratomkiran threat that if the Jurzan intervened, they would do what was necessary to stop the terroristic Jurzani Government. Nadarejshvili responded saying "The Jurzani Government is more secure than anything South Ratomkira can project. The love of our Government generates national unity and a all around respect for the country we all worked so hard to fight for. It is a gift from the almighty that we were blessed with this country, we will do what is necessary to spread the same gift to other people, desperately in need. We will also do whatever necessary to defend the Jurzani People both at home and abroad."

Chancellor Khayrat said "South Ratomkira's threats will be taken into account, but it is doubtful that it'll halt any plans that Congress is making for the aide to North Ratomkira."

:!: A second Constitutional Convention?

Several members of Congress are claiming that the current constitution is failing drastically to meet the needs of the people. Claims are emerging that it's relying drastically on the wealth and prosperity of the National Oil Company.

This group of people, calling themselves "The Political Union for the Prosperity of the Country" or PUPC, has brought up a number of problems with the Jurzani Constitution. They will be listed below.

1. Doesn't grant, in fact, restricts voting powers to the entire population. Though the Constitution calls for voting rights for all, it doesn't explicitly deny Emirates the power to exclude certain people from the voting process, for example, in most Emirates, Georgians cannot vote. In some, literacy tests and poll taxes exist.

2. Power struggles. With the creation of the Chancellery, the Constitution's delegation of power has been severely thrown off. Congress has willingly given up power to one single man, and as a result, the Congress is depriving itself of all the power it needs to prevent tyranny. The Chancellor is, by all means, too power and mimics dictatorship. The Constitution doesn't give adequate powers to the National Government nor does it clearly define the powers delegated to Emirates. Constitutionally, Congress is limited in what laws it can pass. More than anything else, the Chancellery must be reined in.

3. Expansion of Civil Rights. Congress should expand the Civil Rights section of the Constitution to include universal healthcare and free education, reduced cost of college or at the very least, introduction of a student loan program. Social Security should be enacted for the elderly.

4. Tax Reform. The Constitution should expand the taxing powers of the National Government to adequately meet the needs of its people.

5. Economic Powers. The Constitution should grant Congress the ability to form, takeover, and close businesses for the betterment of the public as a whole. Congress should not take over the daily activities of the economy in its entirety, but should be constitutionally given the power to get involved in the Economy greater.

:!: Shura Congress appoints Ma'tusim Bulus as President

Chancellor Khayrat nominated Shakil Isma'il as President of the Shura Congress, but Congress turned him down and nominated, then approved, Ma'tusim Bulus. Ma'tusim Bulus is a controversial pick, for he is an influential member of Congress, but he's a strong proponent of the PUPC Movement.

Bulus won a mass majority of the vote, by claiming he would write a "Declaration of Congressional Rights" to the Chancellor, detailing the grievances of Congress when it comes to Congressional and Chancellery Powers. Bulus claimed that Congress was threatened into voting for the bill that created the Chancellery and although he agrees an Executive should exist, it should be nowhere near as powerful as the Chancellor.

President Bulus already made a demand of the Chancellor to release the documentations and recordings of all National Security Council Meetings to Congress. The National Security Council responded saying that a release to Congress could endanger the National Security of the Republic.

President Bulus has already appealed the refusal to the Constitutional Court, which is awaiting decision. Congress also made a joint statement:

"Things will change in this country, we will be calling for huge reform, should that be denied, an entirely new constitution should be constructed."

:!: Historic Treaty signed

Today, Zurab Nadarejshvili signed a historic treaty with Vangala over future cooperation between the two nations. Jurzan and Vangala have been talking for a long time, and knew pretty much what they wanted to do. Nadarejshvili was sent to Vangala to work out the finishing details to the historic treaty.

The first part of the treaty was a joint declaration condemning Belmont's neo-imperialistic policies. Nadarejshvili stated that the Republic was upset of Belmont's treatment towards the Republic during the war, their increased deployments in Abruzicstan, the accusations of corruption in the Jurzani Government, the freezing of aide, the increase in their nuclear stockpile, the accusations of Coronado's involvement in Premier Martinque's husband's death, and their overall treatment of Vangala and the situation in North Ratomkira. The two nations also agreed to continue to strengthen cultural, economic, and political ties. President Moheen Chatterjee and Chancellor Khayrat are scheduled to have a meeting.

Vangala agreed to send military trainers and advisors to Jurzan to help train the Jurzani Army to better meet the defense needs of the country. The Jurzani Military was ecstatic over the signing of the treaty. Along with the training, military intelligence will be shared and the National Security Council expressed their optimism for the partnership.

In return for aid to the Jurzani people, Jurzan promised large shipments of oil to go to Vangala, the shipment is about half of what is being funneled into Carentania, but it is still a substantial second place.

Chancellor Khayrat said he was optimistic and very pleased with Nadarejshvili for successfully completing the long delayed official meeting between Vangalan and Jurzani Governments.

:!: Congress agrees to Constitutional Reform

President Bulus and Chancellor Khayrat met today before an assembled Congress to discuss the current situation over the Constitution. Congress was upset that the current Constitution has granted too much to the Chancellor and that powers between the National and Emirate Governments need to be defined, as do the actual powers of the National Government.

The debates went on for hours, even turned into screaming fests. Khayrat claimed that the ones who wrote and passed the bill was Congress, they did everything. Congress responded saying that they were afraid of future abuse of power because the bill lacked distinct limitations and the Chancellor wasn't releasing documents or any records of the conversations the National Security Council are having.

President Bulus said that Congress is the direct representative of the people and it will not be given the shorter end of the stick so that the Executive Branch can further expand its powers. Khayrat argued that the Chancellery needs to be powerful in order to handle the nation more effectively. This got a roar from Congress, claiming that nothing was working effectively "the Executive Branch is operating behind closed doors, we have no knowledge of what they are doing. They are controlling the Judicial power and defense related matters of the nation, this is unacceptable," said one Congressman.

After hours of constant back and forth, Congress made the official announcement that it would be working on massive constitutional reform. Chancellor Khayrat agreed to Constitutional Reform. Congress agreed not to throw out the constitution entirely, but rewrite it to add certain clauses, new rights, and power limitations, as well as changing the structure. Chancellor Khayrat wants the new Constitution to go into effect on January 1, 2011, giving Congress a small amount of time to act. President Bulus said he would personally lead the reforms, calling for Congress to meet daily for 5 hours, having on the 11th and 25th.

President Bulus said Congress has agreed to write out, specifically, the powers of Congress, limit the Chancellor's power, establish an independent court system, specifically write out the powers of the Emirates, expand Congress' power to better govern the people, and expand on Civil Rights.

Shipments from the Jurzan group bound for the People's Republic of Vangala will be turned away. In the case of a failure to comply, the Imperial Oikawan Navy will engage these ships to seize or sink them. There will be no terroristic support for the terrorist group in Ratomkira or terroristic influence on the government in Vangala, which is a direct attack on the Empire and peace in Touyou. The Empire strongly calls upon Vangala to desist from pursuing its ties with gangster groups across the globe. The Vangalan ambassador to Nokanawa has been cited to the office of the Imperial Minister of War and Foreign Affairs.

The recent threats by the Oikawan Empire are part of a concerted campaign of aggression and intimidation by the League of Free States and its puppets in Paris against the revolutionary nations of the world. The People's Republic of Vangala will not be bullied into abandoning the people of the Jurzan and will keep its trade agreement.

The Oikawan War Ministry's announcement that Jurzani-flagged ships will not be permitted to reach Vangala under pain of military action reiterates the seriousness of their recently intensified commitment to maritime security. More importantly, though, it opens a new opportunity for Singlish companies, the Gold Eagle cargo company in particular, to make sure everyone still gets fed. Jurzani oil and other goods can be sold through Wing Sing's notorious entrepôt and on to Vangala under the Singlish flag. Vangala gets her oil, Jurzan gets her petrobucks, and Wing Sing pockets her commission. Everybody gets rich.

The nascent democracy in Jurzan risks its future and the chances it has of fostering a free society by associating with regimes on Europe's political fringe, such as the one-party dictatorship in Vangala, also a known state-supporter of terrorism. The Cornavian people will still not abandon the hope it has for Jurzan to develop into an example of genuine democracy in Himyar, but will note that the current course is stretching the limits of our trust very, very far.

We can only hope that the Jurzani government sees the folly it is undertaking by associating with regimes that make it an international pariah.

The People's Republic of Vangala has a genuine interest in the well-being and development of the Jurzan, unlike the Western capitalist powers who only seek to subjugate the Jurzani people and steal their resources. There is also no evidence to support the offensive and outrageous accusations of Vangalan support for terrorism and we suggest Cornavia refrains from making further ill-informed statements.

The dubious international record of the so-called People's Republic of Vangala lends significant credence to our claims concerning state support of terrorism.

Also, we strongly refute the accusation of ulterior motives in the interest the West has taken towards the developing countries of the world.

Free commerce and freedom of the people were the basic tenets that prompted the rise of the West during the Industrial Revolution, and they will also prompt a similar ascension by countries in Himyar and elsewhere.

:!: Chancellor Khayrat retakes the reigns

Today, Chancellor Khayrat went before the Executive Press Room and announced to the media his belief on the current political situation in the Jurzan. He had this to say:

”Today, we find ourselves to be independent people unified under the common banner, together as one equal people. A few days ago, Congress began work on a new constitution, one to fix the very apparent and dangerous flaws in our current constitution. However, the constitution currently being drafted in Congress is a monstrosity and I, as a moral citizen and representative of the people, cannot see this constitution ever become the law of the land. This constitution is nothing more than a way for Congress to expand its power so far that the Government will become the only body of power, stronger than the people. It provides actual provisions for Congress to be able to regulate all commerce in any way it sees fit. Congress could pass laws stating that you can no longer have a private business, you can no longer sell your produce to someone without getting approval from Congress, all profit must go to Congress, and these things can be passed. The independent judiciary that this constitution forms will have no power to regulate Congress because the constitution was written so Congress can never do something illegal. For these reasons, I have, earlier today, requested from the Constitutional Court permission to suspend the Legislative Powers of Congress. I want Congress to scrap this Constitution and begin work on a new one, which they will do with the knowledge that their legislative powers have been revoked until a date no later than January 1, 2011.

The Chancellery of the Republic of Jurzan is officially pressing charges against the President of the Shura Congress for abuse of power. The case will be brought before the Constitutional Court on December 25, 2010. With President Bulus, the radical who pushed for this massive, powerful Congress out of the way and behind bars as he should be, true constitutional reform can be made.

The announcement came as a shock to Congress, President Bulus said the charges were ridiculous and anyone in the Court could see that. Chancellor Khayrat said he had enough of Bulus’ attempts at monopolizing power within the Congress while undermining the freedom and rights of the people.

Bitter feuds broke out in Congress over those who didn’t support the Constitution and those who did. Chancellor Khayrat said the nation has pressing matters that need to be attended. He claimed the Constitutional Reform was essential, but in foreign affairs the nation must move quickly and decisively, that is the reason for the Chancellery assuming Legislative Power.

As the first part of the new powers, Chancellor Khayrat finally approved the contract with Wing Sing to allow their ships to carry Jurzani Oil into Vangala, Khayrat claimed the deal was essential for the continuing of relations with both nations and adds to the overall respect of the Republic in the eyes of the world.

The United Emirates offers support to Chancellor Khayrat in his recent actions in order to ensure the continued law and order in the Republic of Jurzan. No single branch of the government can be allowed to gain total control over the others and the possibility of an unchecked Shura Congress led by President Bulus was deeply troubling. The proposed Constitution presented Chancellor Khayrat with what was essentially a legislative coup d'etat and strong and immediate action was appropriate. The Emirates urge the Chancellor however to return legislative power to the the people of Jurzan as soon as possible either through a restructured Congress or a newly elected legislative body.

Secretariat of State

Today President Khayrat continues to consolidate authority in Jurzan. Soon the terrorist Khayrat will be dictator of all Jurzan regardless if the illegitimate state leans socialist or democrat. The Empire will continue to refuse to recognize the so-called government of the Jurzan.

The Sultanate will continue to support the stability and security of the Jurzan, its brother-nation. We believe that Chancellor Khayrat is the only man capable of bringing this stability and order to his troubled nation, reeling from decades of racism and apartheid.

We criticize the irresponsible policies continuing to emanate from Talemaniki, and call upon it to yield to the facts on the ground and recognize the free and independent Jurzani nation.

:!: Khayrat Administration submits their ideas concerning the Constitution

Today, representatives of the Khayrat Administration had a Press Conference that released the goals and ideals that the new Constitution should embody. It was announced Khayrat wants a constitution that establishes “balance between three branches of Government, one of those branches being an independent judiciary, overall supremacy of the National Government over Emirate Governments, and guarantees certain rights to the people. This Constitution should form a Government that respects, enforces, and protects law, but overall services the people of the Republic of Jurzan and acknowledges the People to be the Supreme Power in the land.”

:!: Talemantine Policy doesn’t change

The Talemantine Empire today again accused Chancellor Khayrat of being a dictator and a terrorist. They claimed that Chancellor Khayrat wished to assume all powers of Government and form dictatorship, regardless of the fact the Chancellor may not hold legislative power past 11:59 pm on December 31, 2010.

The Republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded with stating “their policy and ours hasn’t changed. We seek no hostilities between our two countries, we will maintain the closed border between our two nations, and we will maintain isolation of the Empire.” The Ministry did announce they were concerned over Talemantros’ increased naval activity as well as their dealings with Cakistan, but the overall threat assessment of Talemantros comes back with nothing alarming. “The Empire is still recovering from their defeat in the Jurzani-Talemantine War,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Requests of increased troop levels along the border have been raised by several Military Leaders. Khayrat stated he will look into it and bring the issue up with the Security Council.
