:!: Republic of Jurzan officially recognizes North Ratomkira as a legitimate and independent country
Today, after a few days of debate, Congress has officially voted to side with the Chancellor's request of recognition of the legitimacy of the North Ratomkiran Government and the recognition of the country's independence.
"Not long ago, we went through the same situation as North Ratomkira. A popular government of the people that other nations don't feel they can successfully manipulate are always put down, in their place, an manipulated, slaved government takes control. We did everything we could to remain free and independent, we were successful and now our people will prosper. North Ratomkira is in our situation and we must do our part to aide in their efforts." - Chancellor Khayrat
The overwhelming vote in favor of recognition, was one of the few times Congress almost completely agreed on an issue. Congress agreed that the situation in North Ratomkira was too severe to send diplomats or establish an embassy. Congressmen reminded the legislature of what it was like to have nation's send their wishes rather than anything tangible. Now, Congress agrees that North Ratomkira needs actual tangible help, but Congress continues to debate on what to do to help them.
Limited resources, especially in healthcare and finances, hinder the country's ability to help North Ratomkira without hurting our own people. Some Congressmen stated that Congress should be doing more to help our people before helping those of North Ratomkira. Chancellor Khayrat said he will do what he can to aid the people of North Ratomkira.
