Imperial and Fulanistani Coalition Forces Intervene in Akhaltsikhe

Secretary of State Carmine Gavallo gave a statement announcing that Talemantine and Fulanistani forces began operations against the rouge state of Akhaltsikhe.

“Last night the forces of the Talemantine Empire with allied forces from Fulanistan began operations against the State of Akhaltsikhe. The situation in Akhaltsikhe has continued to decline into a failed state of anarchy while the world only talks and offer false hopes. Each day thousands of Georgians and Uroduah die while the Council of Nations remains entangled in a bureaucratic mess. Now there is another coup of the government of Akhaltsikhe and a new proclaimed Executor who most likely is not the legitimate governance of our Western neighbor.

This new coup which has rendered Akhaltsikhe without a true government is deplorable. It is this reason among others that the coalition forces of Fulanistan and the Talemantine Empire have now intervened to stop the bloodshed and restore stability. To us the only legitimate government of Akhaltsikhe was the government of Executor Konstantine Abkhaz and that government died with him.

The goals of this coalition are as follows; first to completely and utterly destroy the meritocratic apartheid regime. Secondly, we will establish order and stability in Akhaltsikhe. Thirdly, a new system of governance will be set up to govern all citizens as equals. It is time we act and no longer talk. All factions in Akhaltsikhe are to lay down their arms to coalition forces. Our cause is just and we will remove the stain of oppression in Akhaltsikhe.”

Secretary Gavallo also stated that observors from Sarmatia, the Comandary, and Životinje have been invited to observe coalition operations.

The Sultanate strongly condemns the unilateral, unannounced, undiplomatic and unwise intervention by Talemantros into the conflict in the Jurzan. No attempts were made by the government in Talemaniki to formulate a joint Himyarite response. Instead, Talemantros has opted to escalate the crisis into a regional war.

Hajr views this as unacceptable and demands Talemaniki withdraw its troops before a regional conflagration follows. We have warned against this and we remain committed to our position on intervening in the Jurzan. We shall not stand by while our brother nation is engulfed in the flames of naked expansionism.

We second the statements made by Hajr. While Carentania was involved in talks with Hajr as well as the Uroduah rebels in Akhaltsikhe to formulate an adequate and multilateral response to the civil war in the country, the Talemantine Empire merely saw its chance to impose its own view of justice in the country and declare support for a regime long gone.

The actions of the Talemantine Empire have destabilized an already instable south and we believe it is this aggression that is directly responsible for driving the cornered Akhaltsikhen regime into the unjustified attack against Carentanian citizens - as the city of Sisak was bombed by Akhaltsikhen forces. Talemantros should refrain from unilateral action in the future and seek cooperation with Himyarite partners on issues of greater Himyarite security.

Furthermore, the Talemantines will be well advised to refrain from enforcing its own view of the future Akhaltsikhe against the opposition of Carentanias intervention forces. Any attack on Carentanian forces operating in the area to end the attacks on Carentanian soil have the mandate of the Uroduah and Georgian people in the country of Akhaltsikhe and fight for a sovereign and democratic future. We will release a detailed press statement later today regarding this mandate.

Secretary Dal Pane to Hold Review of Belmont Embargo

Secretary of Energy, Aurelia Dal Pane, to hold a conference on the Belmont oil embargo. Currently the oil embargo is set to expire August 31 and as the government moves to reconsider extending the embargo or letting the expiration pass. Secretary Dal Pane will be holding a meeting to discuss the possibility of the embargo to be extended beyond August 31. Those invited to the meeting are representatives from the companies developing Talemantine oil reserves, Secretary of Commerce Ottavia Questi, and representatives from other nations. It has not been said of whether a representative from Belmont has been invited to the talks.

The embargo resulted in a diplomatic spat between the empire and the Kingdom of policies in Jurzan and the threat of Belmontian interference in the Council of Nations sanctioned Talemantine intervention of Akhaltsikhe. The embargo had led to rising oil prices across the globe and the oil companies and countries are reaping heavy profits because of it. Currently the Talemantine Empire maintains several oil agreements with many nations and continues to export oil to them. Currently the allied Kingdom of Marquette is one of the few nations with agreements with the Consistory to oil at lower than current market rates.

Belmont Embargo Expires and not to be renewed

Secretary of Energy, Aurelia Dal Pane, after reviewing the oil embargo against the Kingdom of Belmont the embargo expired yesterday and was not renewed. This allowance of the embargo to expire was after Secretary Dal Pane consulted with the many companies that operate the Talemantine oil supply and several allied states. However, the Secretary did say that this would not prevent the embargo from being reinstituted at a later time if the government felt it would be needed.
